And that fake ass video they made with him running to them down the path when they came to pick him up. It's so fucking absurd that they took multiple angles and it seems as though they took multiple takes. Uhg... the way that has to take a toll on a kid.. I cannot imagine. I agree that sending him to a wilderness camp was wrong considering she's known for having extreme punishments for small things, but not all camps are abusive. Yes, the camp he went to could've been abusive, but that's not always how it is. I've heard many people who've said that they had the best time at a wilderness camp and that they think it's crazy that so many people claim to be abused at wilderness camps. I'm just saying that you should keep in mind that not all wilderness camps are bad, some are actually helpful.

@@-MaryPoppins- the kids never have looked emaciated or have shown visible injuries/restraints in the videos. The emaciated look and the wrist injuries would not be something they would be able to hide while daily vlogging. Ruby never really tried to hide her abuse either, she was that privileged.
So I think things started to take a thing for the worst after the older kids left and AFTER JODI came into the picture. Not to excuse Ruby, she is a loonie and knew exactly what was happening but it’s no coincidence to me that the kids were in JODI’S HOUSE.
Edit: It really is heartbreaking that these kids had to go through this but at least they have a nice support system in the rest of Ruby’s family who already took in Shari (the oldest daughter) after she wanted nothing to do with Ruby anymore.

As someone who watched them when I was 10, every single day at first, up until around 14, it started to become glaringly obvious that there was something wrong with this family when they sent their teenage son, to wilderness camp which is a heinous place, away for no actual good reason and as someone who was far more misbehaved at the same exact age (we are both 18) it made me wonder how they’d react if they had actual ‘bad’ children but they’ve traumatised their children so much that their kids don’t dare misbehave. The fact that Chad had to sleep on the floor for 7 months over a harmless prank was very representative of what was going on in that household as well as a few other things such as: their christmas being taken away twice and her letting her 6 year old daughter starve because ‘she’s in charge of her own lunch and if she forgets it, she needs to learn the consequences of her actions.’ Eve was 6!!! This is the same woman who forgot to turn her stove off and could have burnt her house down.

Actually, the 2 children that were abused are Ruby’s children not her work associate. The 2 children are in fact her youngest kids - the ones who she took Christmas away. They were for some reason staying in the work associate’s house. To make matters worse- the 911 call said that they were left alone and Jody H. pulled up to the house while the police were there- Ruby wasn’t there when the child escaped.😢

I remember seeing that video. It's the only one of their vlogs I think I'd ever seen. However, when I saw this story and saw that clip in this vlog I remembered how it just haunted me at the time. Those poor children. I'm so grateful that they've been removed from that horrible place. It's a shame that she actually managed to raise children for this long with such terrible treatment and nothing was done until it was suddenly a media nightmare for the police dept if they hadn't removed the children.

When you have children you commit to keeping them safe and healthy until they are adults and can do it themselves. Taking away vital components of life, food and shelter…. From your CHILDREN. To try and ‘teach’ them respect or whatever else… is fucking disgusting
