This is insane. This is one of the most kinetically satisfying animations I've seen, honestly. It's like when there's really satisfying movement in games (like Guilty Gear) that doesn't make any sense in reality but is just really pleasing to look at. This really captures that, if you know what I mean? That Guilty Gear sequence especially was such a blast to watch.
it's amazing to return and watch this again after learning about so much of the references, the video became like a 1000 times better than it already was.
2:55 Something about the way they both chat here, saying “Both?” “Both”, then in unison, complete with the lip smacking and their head movements, is just too perfect to me and I have no idea why
In my opinion, the real element that makes ceno0's SFM animation so golden and unique are not the references/memes/jokes he put in or the glorious fight scenes, but intentional animation errors/bugs as well as the stiffness when the characters are in motion.
9:22 Pretty much ignored moment, but the way G-Man is animated so perfectly. His expressions are so real-like surprises me it ins't made with some kind of software for capturing movement. Forget it EVERYTHING about this animation is animated to inmaculate perfection.
Can we take a moment to appreciate those spot-on VAs? Like I thought Gman was the actual VA for a second, and Captain Ash really does summon the spirit of Rick May for this thing.
I mean this unironically, without a hint of sarcasm. This video is a masterpiece of animation. The way you blend SFM with the more stuttering, stop-motion GMOD-style animation, the way you jump between multiple different styles, the fact that the video manages to be *funny* on top of all of this? Masterpiece, nothing short of it. Stay safe right now, my guy.
9:45 Love how Gman. Arguably one of the strongest, most mysterious and powerfull beings ever crated by valve. A being capable of stopping and creating new timelines on a whim, one that requiers of so much power to be keeped at bay is beyond powerless againts blu heavy.
9:22 i love how this was gonna look like a cool story arc with g-man and lore elements but then heavy dips out of there before we have any clarification.
@@rainell8246 I love the universe where a Russian-speaking, frying-pan-wielding Coach is more powerful and enigmatic than G-man and even the only one powerful enough to meaningfully interrupt or stop both heavies

I actually met the VA for Soldier in this animation in a game before this animation released. He is a pretty cool dude and I was super stoked to see him in this. Although we bullied him into saying the dumbest crap in soldier's voice so much that his voice got hoarse.

Both.
In my opinion, the real element that makes ceno0's SFM animation so golden and unique are not the references/memes/jokes he put in or the glorious fight scenes, but intentional animation errors/bugs as well as the stiffness when the characters are in motion.
And the difference in animation between people in the same scene like he had fluid, soft, animation for the Gman with heavy just aposing straight past
Ceno is the best at finding “animation style” and manages to make said style perfectly.
Intentional jank is both the best jank, and the hardest jank to pull off successfully.

I mean this unironically, without a hint of sarcasm. This video is a masterpiece of animation.
