As someone who lives near Mansfield I have many neighbours who swear by their Suzuki vehicles...they never seemed to get bogged in winter due to the light weight of the vehicle! You are all probably too young to remember but Suzuki made a Ute!! Small but very practical..a mate of mine had one and he fed out square bales of lucerne hay in it during winter..and again never got bogged! I own a Navara STX (2017) which came with the standard Toyo road tyres and will soon be spending some money on upgrading the ute for a trip around Australia and again will be fitting Toyo tyres with off road capability...love the Navara which I still reckon is under rated for its off road capabilities! Great stuff !!
The skill level was superb, very pleasant to watch. Also, a huge Thank you for not full throttling the cars when the road gets steep like most 4x4 drivers do, it makes me cringe. Please do more 4x4 videos.
I reckon you guys deserve two thumbs for the way you used your skills, knowledge and no nonsense approach on this video; more please. The Grampians, the Otways, more of Gippsland and then maybe interstate. Thanks for a really enjoyable video.
Had a Jimny, great 4x4, have a Nav with lift and suspension, off-road tires...no problems! That extra clearance and tires makes the car a very capable vehicle!
It was a fantastic refresher seeing this type of adventure and I hope you guys will do more of this stuff 👍. Although, I would really love to see the mitsubishi pajero sport getting a bit of love. It is as capable off road, if not more than the trailblazer.
I guess Suzuki had their reasons for not doing it. But it sure sounds the way to go to me. From what I've seen in reviews it's great off road but not so good on the freeway.
You guys are driving way to slow up the steep sections so you are putting undue stress on the vehicles and chewing up the track. Try 2nd low range and a little bit more momentum with an even throttle to keep the car moving and dodge loose sections as much as possible driving on the solid rock will give you better traction.
I'll give you a 9 out of 10 for 'general outdoor knowledge', a 10 out of 10 for the 'location', a 6 out of 10 for 'imparting vehicle specs', and a 9 out of 10 for 'presentation'. Almost 85% which is very good for the limited time of your presentation. 👍
What a wonderfully enjoyable review. Great commentary and the camera work/footage was outstanding. More about the high plains than the vehicles, but I didn't mind that to be honest. Well done👌
so one can still drive off road with road tyres and no snorkel and pull up for a camp without the beer unlike the 4WD Action mob would have you believe otherwise!
I’ve got a jungle green Jimny too.. The car is an absolute dream, Who owns the Jimny in this video.. is it a loan from Suzuki? I’ve got Bf Goodrich’s on mine already, anything in particular you would say the Jimny could’ve benefited from in the high country? Looking to head up when my bulbar and winch is fitted in a few weeks.. just need to get some winter camping gear too.
You lower all 3 vehicles pressures to 16 psi, then wonder why the Jimny struggles with traction?! The Jimny weighs half what the others do, so tyre pressures should be much lower. I have good results off road with the Jimny's tyres at 10psi.
Can you give me more info on wich decked system you bought. I have a navara pro4x but im worried that the navara in the us is a diferent version and decked system wont fit
No Suzuki has the least available presence in Australia, sells cars in a weird arrangement North of Sydney...never really flourished possibly because lags behind in tech.
Like the video, but I have an issue with setting up camp under what is clearly dead wood. In fact there's on branch there that's clearly ready to come down right on the camp. Probably lucky the wind waited till the morning to blow. People. Never ever set up camp under trees with dead wood in the top. They're no called widow makers for nothing. Set your swags and fires in the clearing away from the dead wood. Please yourself about where you park the car, but if it's undrivable because of trees falling on it you might have a long walk out. Blue Rag is a ways from the Dargo road.
Go the Jimmy. off to Victorian high country in two weeks can't wait epic Place been going there for ten years 1 week at a time still like taking a bite out of a piece of toast favourite tracks haunted stream billy goats bluff and the basalt up to Blue rag and don't forget Mount Margaret Highly recommended
Once again the Jimny is $ for $ unbeatable. Out of the shed full of cash you'd save just add a small of road trailer, a roof rack & knobbly tyres. How's that for financing a hobby.
Lowering the tyre pressure in the Jimny "will give us a nice wide tread pattern". Showing a lack of 4wd knowledge there. Lower pressures increases the length of the contact area not the width.
When tyre pressures are lowered, the tread pattern is both lengthened AND widened, which is why lowering tyre pressures is bad for the side wall of the tyre.
@@vids940 not true. The tread width of the tyre is fixed. It would have to stretch to become wider. The only way to get a wider contact patch is if the side wall is contacting the ground and if that's happening then the tyre won't last long.
@@scottmcnamara2458 so you're saying a deflated tyre will grow zero percent in width? Ok... I'm talking about the entirety of the tyre, not just the tread
@@vids940 The tread is the part you want to be driving on so it is the thing that is relevant. As the tyre is deflated the sidewall will bag out so the tyre looks wider, but as I said before you don't want to be driving on the sidewalls. My original comment spoke about the length v width of the contact area not whether a deflated tyre is wider. If the contact area has become wider then it is more that the tread making contact with the dirt and you'll end up with a shredded side wall.
It's great seeing you guys getting out in the Aussie bush. But seriously. Taking on tracks like Sth Basalt Knob with HT tyres, no recovery points, no winch is fair dinkum asking for trouble and sending a really bad message for those starting out in the 4wd life. Sth Basalt Knob Tk would be one of the top 5 nasties tracks in that Dargo area, and to drive and film it in with the 4wd's you had ,is so dangerous. You lost me well before the end of that video.
You will never see Trailblazer doing this here in Indonesia, especially Jakarta because they think wading through flood, driving through horrible neighborhood road and speed bump are "off-roading", I doubt the owner bring the car to the rough terrain like in this video, gotta keep the car squeaky clean. Even if Jimny become available here they will suffer the same fate, probably ended up being a collector item
Only a Toyota built before 2007 as everything after that is rubbish. Yes I've owned them including a brand new 200 series. Fine if you stay on the bitumen but fall apart off it.

Agree the only one worth getting,, affordable and has character 😀

Exactly how an owner would drive, with care and moderation
Unrestrained loads in the navara old mate.If it's not tied down or covered its an unrestrained load and you will probably get an infringement notice .

So what happens if the jimny is fully modified how far it can go on a 40 ltr tank
I wonder what the fuel consumption was of the Jimny with all the 4wding?
Oliver Mansfield probably better than the other 2
is the fridge tied down to the Decked Drawers? if so how?
Enjoyed thr video especially the fact that you used car the world think are under dogs well done. I m a Nissan fun
