I can see why you love this part of the world. Those drone shots of Craig's Hut and surrounding high country are absolutely breathtaking....thank you for sharing❤
Just found your channel, really enjoyed your journey.through the high country, some of the best filming I've seen , can't wait to get my new Ford Ranger in July and do some of the tracks you guys did , keep up the good work ,cheers Graeme
Thanks so much! Glad you liked the videos 😊 you are going to absolutely love taking the ranger through the high country! Honestly one of our favourite spots in the whole country. Hope you have an awesome trip!
Great videos & description of some of the tracks around Buller. Good to see the DMax is holding up, but I do cringe watching it roll from side to side, especially on uphill sections. It looks WAY heavy. Probably something to do with having 130kg of Bush Company gear mounted so high up, plus the high-mounted wheel and the gear on your cabin roof. I feel for the little rear diff housing/axle on those underbody shots. I hope it continues to hang together and you can get many miles of trips in your rig. But I hope you've got a switched-on 4WD mechanic who can keep a close eye on the bushings throughout your suspension, taking the weight of the rock'n'rolling. Keep it up guys.
Thanks heaps for watching :) We get where you're coming from for sure. The tent is definitely heavier than some of the other options out there but we really didn't want to compromise on quality given we were living out of it day in day out. When setting up the canopy we have tried our best to distribute the weight to limit strain where we can. There's definitely a fine line between keeping the setup light (for 4WDing) and carrying everything you need when you're living out of a for a year (for touring). We definitely made sure to get a decent GVM upgrade and good quality suspension done and have made sure to not go overweight when loading the car up. Always something we are trying to keep in mind where we can. You're right though, always important to have a good mechanic keeping an eye on things! Thanks again for following along, we appreciate it! Matty and Em
Thanks so much for checking the video out! You’re going to love this part of the country - happy the video was of help 😊 we have a few more videos coming on this spot as well, might be able to share a few more favourite spots for you soon! Hope your high country trip goes well!
We can’t get enough of it - such good camping! We can’t fault the canopy at all - It’s performed extremely well with everything we’ve put it through and it’s had a very hard first 9 months of its life being lived out of full time and taken to some crazy places. Very happy with it!
We keep lots of stuff in our canopy toolboxes (recovery gear, tools etc) and haven't had any issues with leaking when doing river crossings/rain etc :)
Hi, absolutely beautiful scenery and landscape, really enjoyed the video. Can I please ask you a very important question, i love your truck set-up , I would appreciate massively knowing the exact overall height of your rig ( ground to very top ) in cms . ( Bizarre request but thank you so much❤)
So sorry for such a slow reply! Thanks for watching and we're glad you enjoyed it! The DMAX sits at about 230cm high (not including the gas bottle or radio antenna) :)
@@BorderlandExplorers Hi there ! Thanks so much for the response! I'm just trying to figure out if such rig would fit into my garage, or not ? lol. Does that measurement include the roof top tent ? ( I thoroughly appreciate you taking the time to come back to me, the only way I have of finding this information out is to ask someone who has such a set up ) Aside , great channel. Love all the videos! Watching this kind of vid really inspires a motivates me also to do Overlanding. Great work !! Take care Rich
Love your vids and set up. Was interested to know if the rooftop tent made a noticeable difference to the dmax stability on the more difficult track such as where you are in the vic high country. Thanks in advance
Thank you! And thanks for watching. This is a hard one to answer accurately - we actually only did about 1000km of highway driving with the DMAX, then fitted the tent. It’s first time offroad was fully built and setup, so we don’t really have a comparison. In saying that, it’s not weight that I feel is concerning in any way when we’re doing those kind of tracks. We’ve been able to safely take the DMAX everywhere we’ve wanted to (including the Old Tele Track in Cape York) and haven’t ever felt like the tent has been limiting. We do have a Pedders 3450kg GVM upgrade on it as well which improves handling without a doubt.
Mate sorry! That shouldn’t be happening - it should be a small pop-up that not distracting. Just so we can look into it, which device did you watch it on? TV, Phone?
Not a major criticism but more of a suggestion (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) only in this case the ear. I’d ditch the corny cliched twangy bluegrass guitar music, every fourbie UA-camr uses it. Search for something different and I know from experience you’ll be surprised what shouldn’t suit actually does. Great entertainment nevertheless, congrats.
Thanks for the feedback, we’ll definitely take it on board for future videos 😀. And thanks heaps for taking the time to check out our channel! Music is definitely one of those interesting and challenging time warps that can almost take as long as editing the video to get the right fit and tell the right story. We’ll keep at it!
How beautiful is the high country!! Amazing video guys!!! Also loving the merch!! 👌🏼👌🏼
Thank you! We absolutely love it there - it’s so beautiful. Thanks for watching 😀
Another brilliant Scenic Adventure.. Great photography. Well done guys.. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you, and thanks for watching! 😀😀. More High Country episodes on the way

Epic adventure team! The High Country is simply stunning 🤩
One of our faves for sure!
Absolutely beautiful country! I love how the highlights include what camp grounds have thr best dunnies😂 can't wait to see part 2!
It’s funny you say that - we are actually working on a new series… “Bogged Around Oz”, which highlights the best camp toilets in the country! 😂😅

Thanks so much! Appreciate you watching :)
Great video, I’d love you to show your shower and hot water setup
Thanks so much! Great idea, we will try to look at doing that in one of our videos
Loved it, I just wish WA had something like this
It’s a great part of the country hey! We love WA too - we’re so lucky to live in Aus 😀
Amazing video on this part of the world, we're heading there soon so this has been really helpful. Safe travels 😊

Great video guys, yeah I’m with you Em I’d stay in my trackies too. It looks beautiful in the Victorian high country, so peaceful.
Thanks so much for watching ☺️ haha yep trackies all the way. Definitely one of our favourite spots, so peaceful
I love the vic high country. Such an amazing place. How’s the canopy holding up ? I’m thinking of investing in one for my DMax.

Hi do your mrt canopy tool boxes or trundle draw leak - I see a lot of comments about leaks on web?

High county is the best but you need to make a proper fire . Not a birds nest. Only way to stay warm up there. Have fun.
Birds nest 😂😂. Love that.
We had to ration our firewood a bit for the week, otherwise she’d be cranking!
@@BorderlandExplorerswhy were you rationing firewood ?
Gave up watching because some of the screen was taken up with a products add 😢
