Specialised levo expert, I was spoilt with a 700w battery which everyone pointed out when i turned up with it, I tilled it in after a year as the crowd was changing and I still made a covid price hike profit, my itch is back though.
I never owned an mtb until I got a 2016 Haibike Allmtn XC and despite all these years later that bike and it’s twin are still going strong in my brother’s hands when I went for a newer bike. I think of that era Haibike were well ahead of the curve but nobody shouted about them as they did when the Levo appeared. Yes, things have moved on but that Allmtn is definitely still very relevant. Having consumed EMBN’s output from the start the channel was almost apologetic in the early episodes for fear of alienating traditional mtb riders - now we’re all in the same melting pot of enjoying the trails and downhills together 😎
Great piece Steve. I'm 54 and my E-sommet is the bike a 54 year old shredder needs! The fantasy come true,no more pushing up...insane . That nduro looks sick . No brand new tech in the last 10 years, just reinventions
My first one was a Trek 8700 Composite and it still lives in my garage. Originally it didn't have any suspension and mechanical v-brakes but I loved to ride it back in the early 90s
I've still got a 2018 build going strong. Threw a bafang mid drive motor and an 800Wh battery on a Cannondale hardtail. Many cassettes and tires later it still running strong with many miles of fun behind it.
I've ridden a popular mtb park in Florida that last couple of weeks. What a different world from then. Over half the bikes are ebikes and really decked out ones. A lot of the riders are rippers as well.
Haibike Nduro Xduro 10, bought in 2021. Flyon 120Nm motor, Fox Kashima 38 180mm, 630Wah Batt, front 5000 lumen light integrated, upgraded to wireless x01 shifter, wireless seatpost, added some 3k of upgrades overall. Still my dreambike today, 3 years on the pedals. Only upgrade i can think of is a spare battery and maybe a 4-5kg of weight shaved of for maneuvrability. Other than that, happy to see featured the tech from 10 years ago on my Haibike's little brother.
That's the 2016 model I had that one and the 2014 original one in gloss and was probably the first to ride it to the top of Snowdon in 2014. Amazing bikes and I was hated by everyone back then as always until they rode it 😂
My first Emtb was a 2018 Levo carbon Pro (Red) like you Steve rode up the slab and loved it. We have 5 Emtbs but seriously it is now with upgrades my go to bike. 170 Fox 38's, 29 front wheel, 9piont8 steering head slacker kit, Fox DPX2 shock, sealed upgraded 1.3 brose aluminium motor + a new spare motor, extra 500wh batteries and a manual change 14speed Rohloff hub. (GOODBYE DERAILLEUR) It's super silent ,powerful and smooth. It out shines my Trek exe, 2020 levo, Merida E160 and my wife still loves her small 2018 Levo (18,500 km) with Rohloff. My Amflow carbon Pro is due in Australia next week. Exciting bike but it might be not quite as planted Downhill as I am only 63kg myself. E=mtb² but is the Amflow E =mtb³. Keep up the good news and work.
Nice video. I think Cube still offers a 27.5 bike with the Hybrid 160. My wife rides a Hybrid 140, in the size Small that's one is also a 27.5. That's great for shorter riders. More brands should offer this, at least in the size Small.
I had one of those...2016 , it was my first Emtb..Great bike for the time , those Mavic wheels were terrible. hard as iron. Next up was a 2018 leveo then a 2021 levo...the highly modified 2018 levo is still my favorite..unrestricted, 160 fork and coil rear, carbon wheels and in 27.5 it can do anything .
Great video, however, you mentioned one would be hard pressed to find a 27.5 emtb presently. I am in the process of buying a Yamaha YDX Moro 05, this bike comes with 27.5 inch tires front and rear, so they are still out there.
I was on a budget and ended up going for a Deacthlon Stilus which I’ve been riding for over 4 years now, has the same Bosch Performance CX motor as the HaiBike great to hear that (touch wood 😂🤞) the motors can last over 10 years without service, would like to consider new e-bike at some point but my e-bike has had me round Scotland, had some great times should I just consider upgrading forks, shock and others parts for better ride? Great episode thanks for sharing Steve and Embn 😁👍
i am following GMBN for years and EMBN from the beginning and the more i watch it, the more i recognise YOU are talking so much nonsense and useless stuff with also wrong informations... its incredible
👌"Slave to the battery" is only those poorly trained person that's call for help when their battery lost the power😂 A 85 km long cycling tour over Mountain and river, with 60% of battery power still left in my Specialized SL 1.1 35Nm. I would I never call for assist and I rather carries my bike on my shoulder back home, because...... I'm a free person😂😂😂😂
What was your first eMTB? Do you still have it?
@@embn yes still got my original haibike ebike plus a few more 😂
My 2016 Haibike allmtn was and still is a fantastic bike! I have too many ebikes.... Said no one ever!!!😂
Kenevo sl gen1. First ebike after 10 years of riding on XC/Trail bikes.
Haibike sduro, was my 1st one 🎉

Agree😂
For me YOU are the ultimate Emtb ambassador, thank you for sticking withbut sir!!!!

as great as the bikes are today, it makes you wonder what we'll have in 10 more years
Hopefully 20-30% lighter, with the same, or longer range.

Still running my Elect dropper now 8 years old still going strong.

Greatest early e-bike was the commencial meta power for sure !

That bike looks awesome honestly. Wait…doesn’t the AL torque have 27.5’s?!

When they have solid state batteries for ebikes its going to change the world.
Yes you're right.
I give it another 5 years they have solid state marine batteries already.
i am following GMBN for years and EMBN from the beginning and the more i watch it, the more i recognise YOU are talking so much nonsense and useless stuff with also wrong informations... its incredible
EMBN became something for old EBike-snobs
Whoa. A bit over dramatic aren't you? Get a glass of cola and swallow a chill pill. Remember its just 12 minute video on UA-cam.
Which information was wrong? Nothing jumped out at me as wrong or wide of the mark. Steve made a lot of good points.
Hahah you right …. And this was only old bike…. When he takes on new release bikes it all full of nothing 😂
non-e bikes are stupid
Hi. What do you think is the most important thing for a successful start on UA-cam? 😚🍒
Not being a robot.
👌"Slave to the battery" is only those poorly trained person that's call for help when their battery lost the power😂
