That was a really "gripping" episode. Thanks Owen for showing us the steps taken to get something that seems so simple but complex created. I upgraded to a more premium Ergon grip after a past episode of GMBN Tech.
Gripping - stuff! Yeah agreed it seems so simple - but the depth of knowledge - in all aspects of creating a better grip really amazed me too! Cheers Owen
I recently picked up a pair of Ergon GDH grips to replace 2020 Giant ATX factory grips, and I can definitely say I’m only getting those from now on. No more wrist pain, and I feel a lot more in control with the inertial core piece. Absolutely amazing!
The money we pay for these bikes and rubbish grips on them.. We use deathgrip here and get on very well with them. Was on a rental at the weekend and after two sessions I had worn in hands..
Big plus for Ergon is that they use interchangeable bar ends. So, unlike other brands, you don't have to throw them away after crash, all you need are new ends.
From an ergonomic perspective Ergon grips are amazing. But I wouldn’t recommend it because the bar ends can break off really easily. It nearly ended my life when I punchered my upper leg with the bar.

I can remember years ago when we wired grips onto bars... It's nice to just use an Allen wrench now.
Same here - the new grips are so much better!
Cheers
