You're not wrong about that tough old paint! I don't know if its the lead or simply time to adhere to the substrate, but that old paint is like powedercoat. Great content, Dan!

This is very nice! Maybe you could look at bluing if you don't want to leave any sort of particle like paint or plating inside a shoe. It should protect the steel from corrosion as well.

I feel like Tools have to be hand held to be classified as a tool. While a Machine is definitely too big or heavy or whatever to be hand held. These stretchers are bolted down and thusly are machines.

You can put those shoe stretchers to use...just put a heavy-duty sock over the form to protect the painted surface from the shoe interior.
