It's actually not too bad! It does look a bit soft, but it is definetly better than running 1080p at 27" 1440p monitor. Just be sure to change the resolution in the nvidia control panel, under PC Resolutions - for some reason if i change it in windows display settings, it becomes very-very blurry and pixelated.

Its sad that a 1440p 24" exists but not a 1440p 30" UW equivalent because they would have the same height and pixel density. In 21:9 you are forced to pick between 1080p 30" and 1440p 34" which both suck for small text reading without zooming in, it’s like choosing between a 1080p 24” and a 1440p 27”… I just want an 1440p 30" UW that would have the closest ppi to 2160p just like a normal 1440p 24” Is that too much to ask for ?
24" with 1440p was my goal, i was trying to get it cheap so i looked long enough till i came across this monitor, i mean yeah it's real cheap for the fact that it's so small and 1440p with 165hz, but i think there should be more of em, when i Found this on amazon I had to get myself some other Opinion, so your video kinda did the Last push for me to get it soon, Saw it at 180 two weeks ago, but decided to wait cuz of black friday, ofc it went up to 203 but I'll wait when the Pricing will be right, kinda gonna get this as a christmas present for myself. I had a 1080p monitor at like 20" and went for one with a higher refresh rate a couple years ago but it was 24", I imediately Noticed that it wasnt as sharp, so i had to get used to it, but now i think I'll be statisfied enough
It hapenned the same thing to me bro. I'm going to buy it for 180€ which is very cheap for a QHD monitor. I also think that 24' is the perfect size, not that small and not too big. I have a TV with 32' and it's insanely big
Finally got this. This will be my main gaming/work monitor until there’s a 24” OLED monitor available. If you use Mac OS consider using the “Better Display” App to tweak the screen scaling. Also this switches input automatically which the Koouri monitor doesn’t.
For some reason, with 165 g-sync DP enabled, when switching games in full screen mode alt+tab or to another monitor on the black screen for a second appear streaks of pixels.with g-sync turned off everything is ok
Hey man, I think i am having the same issue. When i bought this monitor, it was fine. But a couple months later it started to develop this kind of weirdness. Like an old film screen effect, or VHS, something like that. Basically a part of the image is briefly shaking. I've found out, that the lower the refresh rate, the less chance of it happening. At 120Hz it completely stops, so if you want to use g-sync, try that. Kinda dissapointed with this monitor, AOC seems to be pretty inconsistent with their QC. This is most likely a defect, so I think you could try and RMA it. Personally, I'm not gonna bother - 120Hz is plenty for me, still a huge upgrade over 60/75hz.
Ive got this monitor paired to my ps5. When the wife wants to watch tv which is 4k 60hz i switch over to this monitor. Yes no HDR but at 24 inch size 1440p 120hz is beautiful man cant complain for the money 😊
@Ls-kt9un I don't play in 1080p as 1440p is beautiful at 24 inch. I don't play on the TV anymore as the difference in performance to my tv the monitor gameplay is more fluid. I play god of war ragnarok, ea fc24, ufc 4, cricket 24, dirt Ralley, formula one 23, street fighter, tekken 7. I bought an xbox series s aswell connected that to the monitor as I got it cheap, and play forza 4 and 5 mainly and a few other games on that. 60hz and 120hz both beautiful on the monitor which cost me £220
Unfortunately this monitor is not available in the US. The KOORUI GP01 is very similar to the aoc monitor. Do you know if it has the same quality and performance as the aoc?
I picked this up for £190. Probably best I'll get for the price. I chose the monitor after the parts and was running out of money, so it was either this or some random 1080p one
Now that cod has red dots again on the mini map I feel like 27" is just a tad too much for me. Hopefully they will release a 240hz variant. Anyone any idea if such a model is announced/in the making?
The awesome thing about this screen is being able to use it with demanding games, where 4k brings the frame rate down a bit too much... rather than using DLSS/FSR, I just display the game on this panel instead. The pixel density honestly looks comparable to my 4k screen....playing Silent Hill 2 Remake @ 1440p is ultra ultra smooth.... whereas 4k, not so much lol. It's a very nice screen! Just wish 165hz would display/work.
I have the same monitor, but it recognize me max of 120hz even from display port cable and even on lower resolution still 120, i read my gpu gtx660 even its old it can support up to 200hz . What should i do to unlock atleast 144hz for my monitor?
Great job. I'm a bit disappointed that the ports are only HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2. Any chance of a follow-up on non-gaming use? After all, we don't game all day every day, and your analysis of text quality, Windows scaling, etc would be very useful. Did you find that the higher pixel density meant that you could do away with some post-processing techniques like anti-aliasing?

good review dominic, I think you covered everything negative I would have spotted and came to a balanced conclusion. its not for me, but seems like a quality screen for people wanting a smaller monitor. How did you find the AA requirements on the screen with the density
It might be game dependent, but I didn't need AA for the games I play right now
Thanks for the very informative and detailed review of this monitor. Been looking for an affordable upgrade from my aging AOC G2460PF which have served me very well for years, this might just be the perfect thing for a limited budget and space
good screen for sure.
I know it's down to personal preference, but personally I'd prefer buttons to an OSD joystick.
i think the feel is the issue, as it likely feels the same as a power button so you are more likely to accident press down. a joystick feels different to finger tip so you make less bad presses.
finally 1440p in 24
good review dominic, seems like a great screen for the price.
You will be reviewing iphone displays next! where is the big screen sizes
lol I asked them along with a lot of other people to review some of these screens, their last reviews have all been massive high end screens !
@@larwiemcdonnel5322 don't worry I am sure they can find some 14in displays to review on the way to microsize wrist watch size. After that perhaps we can get back you useful desktop large screen monitors.
@@tomquimby8669 you get out of bed on the wrong side this morning mate? I actually think this is a very good screen for the money - especially as you likely could get away without even using AA due to pixel density on a screen this size. variety is the spice of life.
@@KnightRider-lq5yb 24in will be a bit big for KIT
@@tomquimby8669 what monitor would you like us to review Tom? We have quite a few large monitor reviews on the channel and main website,. Anything new you would like to see?
AOC😂 always have lots of issues not all monitors aren't perfect Philips Asus and ASRock have nice line up.
asrock do monitors now?
Philips an AOC are the same parent company
@@lucifersheadscarf6988 Yeah shown at computex 2023.
nice line up, but where is their 24" 1440P 144hz+ screen at?
thats a pretty high density screen in regards to res/size - you could probably not run with AA on that and get away with it better. did you find that?
I've had a 1440p 24" for almost a decade (Dell 2417dg) and this is why I love it. Awful contrast ratio though, and very washed out... so I think this will be my next upgrade for my triple monitor setup :)
Its really well priced this, dont own one myself, but my younger brother's mate has one. its a good screen - no frills, but great image. good review dominic
man i wish 24 1440p was more common. 27 inch is too big for me
I can't be the only one with a desk that's just too small for a 27 inch (4K) screen right?
Its sad that a 1440p 24" exists but not a 1440p 30" UW equivalent because they would have the same height and pixel density. In 21:9 you are forced to pick between 1080p 30" and 1440p 34" which both suck for small text reading without zooming in, it’s like choosing between a 1080p 24” and a 1440p 27”…
I just want an 1440p 30" UW that would have the closest ppi to 2160p just like a normal 1440p 24”
Is that too much to ask for ?
Just ordered mine and collecting it today. I hope 1440p or even 4k becomes standard for small monitors!
Is there one like this with 240hz?
Good info, thanks for sharing mate
@@KitGuruTech No, thank you for your awesome video!
I'm now using this monitor and its perfect for what I need. No weaknesses and all that i needed.
I want it too work long hours looking at text. I know it's subjective, but would you say the text look too small without scaling?
@@xBeyondMystery On windows & Mac the tect looks great. The scaling tools are really meant help with the interface sizes. This is a great monitor
Thanks for the vid, Is this better than the Koorui GP01? Also 24inch, 1440p nano ips.
Thanks
Yes no HDR but at 24 inch size 1440p 120hz is beautiful man cant complain for the money 😊
what games do u play? how is the perfomance in 1080p at 60 hz? tks in advance
60hz and 120hz both beautiful on the monitor which cost me £220
@@mrzee321 i dont think EA FC supports 1440 P...re u sure ?
Unfortunately this monitor is not available in the US. The KOORUI GP01 is very similar to the aoc monitor. Do you know if it has the same quality and performance as the aoc?
I have just ordered 2, 1 for gaming and 1 for vertical mounting and chat/control panel
Thanks for sharing !
I have the same monitor, but it recognize me max of 120hz even from display port cable and even on lower resolution still 120, i read my gpu gtx660 even its old it can support up to 200hz . What should i do to unlock atleast 144hz for my monitor?
Do you think Medium Overdrive will be fine on 120hz? (Console cap)
How is the lowest brightness on this monitor as some recent AOC monitors have high minimum brightness. It’s a 1-2 month wait time in the UK
I think 32" is too big for shooter games even 27" its a liitle big
may I ask if I play games 1440p on 24inch monitor does it look like 4K 27 inch monitor? looks so sharp and natural not fuzzy-ish/blurry
more like 32 4k
It's been months- why isn't this available in the US? what's going on here 🤨🤨
Will this monitor allow 120hz on the PS5
Great job. I'm a bit disappointed that the ports are only HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2. Any chance of a follow-up on non-gaming use? After all, we don't game all day every day, and your analysis of text quality, Windows scaling, etc would be very useful. Did you find that the higher pixel density meant that you could do away with some post-processing techniques like anti-aliasing?
good point
@@overclockingdemon7179 I have a 24 inch as my secondary screen and it can be helpful sometimes with higher demand games to use as primary as it kills the look of the horrible edges without needing loads of anti aliasing.
Text is not great at this size
@@iyaramonk You can use Windows scaling. Hence the request.
