I work security at the gates going into the locations. I've seen high wait times like you're saying. Seen some wait up to 13 hours to drop their load. I've worked in other locations and seen some run 8 to 10 loads a day. In and out all day, running those trucks almost 24 hours before they take a break. Like you said, depends on how far they have to drive to pick up their load and if anything on location breaks or goes down.
@LC-in5or Well it depends. For those trucks waiting hours to drop at a location, yes. But for those that are moving and doing 8 to 10 loads a day? Those sand trucks make $300 per load. So if it takes them 1.5. Hours to pickup the sand, drive to drop off location, unload, then they just made $300 in 1 to 2 hours. It would suck if they were only making $25 per hour.

I am hauling containers up here in the Seattle area and I have heard that some sand frac owner operators can make 10k a week. Do you know if this is true or is it just hearsay?
Not really they come and go so frequently. W&W was a good company but they got bought out. WTS was also great before they started leasing on O/O. Prestige is the only one that I know with a lot of contracts.
Hey I live in Florida Tampa and I just graduated and deep in debt and I'm trying to get out the hole fast and I got my CDL from 160 driving academy 2 weeks ago. But I don't have my hazmat or any endorsement on my license yet and I don't drive manual stick shift yet I only drive automatic
You shouldn’t have to relocate, there are lots of people from out of state over here! Pay really varies from employer to employer. I did a few videos about trucking companies vs service companies!
How much is the pay if you're an owner operator. I was a roughneck for 2 years. And always was jealous of the truckers making more then me and not even breaking their backs. Im about to go to school and get my class a cdl. But eventually i want to gain some experiance then work on getting my own truck and start hauling frac sand
Not exactly for sure, I would guess around 6-7k gross per week if you can do 3 loads a day. I’d say around a $1500 fuel bill. I remember pay used to be better back in 2016 but over the years has dropped off. That is a good goal to keep, I always say invest into something you enjoy doing.
Man if you don’t have experience, I’d say Pate Trucking or Equipment Transport, get some experience then move on to something that pays more. Once you get out here you will figure out really quick who pays good!
thanks for the video brother, i have the 2+ year class A driving, i've been offered a frac sand hauling job, in sand box, is it worth it ? this one is also 120 mile trips, it looks like a lot of waiting and little driving, i ask because i just got my tanker and hazmat endorsement, so i'm between sand and hazmat hauling, any suggestions i would really appreciate it, thank you.
Hazmat for sure man, if it was me I’d stay away from sand. Your not going to make money, the only way to make money in sand is to work 24 hours a day and running 120 mile and up is dangerous on no sleep.
im currentl;y making a career switch from restaurant buisness to oilfeild. My current contract is over in may just tryniogn to get in a enrty level job
Idk if you can help me out man. I have my own authority and I'm interested switching over to hauling sand. Do you happen to know any companies I can be set up as a carrier.
I’m letting everyone know what jobs are available in the Oilfield, I’ve spent alot of time out here since 2015 and just want to be as transparent as possible with the current conditions. Also I’ve hauled sand before with pneumatic and it isn’t as good as it was.
I would get that restriction off! Some of Mesquite’s guys had to remove it. There is a lot of older trucks with sticks, it’s hard to find a company running all Automatics
Yes it's a pretty simple job, as a company driver I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, if companies aren't paying hourly as most trucking positions are in the Oilfield, such as sand, that simply means they don't want to pay for your standby as an employee. And trust me it's alot of waiting. But for an O/O it's a decent gig that usually pays well.
I’m up by Houston and the only place I found that was hiring tanker drivers is Halliburton. I’m currently hauling flatbed to deliver to the rigs and it’s too slow, I need something else that pays the bills.
Check out FEVID, Monster Box or Chalk Mountain. I’m not sure what they are paying but I see their trucks everywhere and drivers seem happy to be with those companies.
That’s ok, just trying to get some information out there. The oilfield is not for everyone most do not stay very long anyway, but it’s up to them to figure that out.
I highly recommend all you drivers out there to get your own authority as soon as possible and if you have the knowledge and smarts to go after your own customers then do it. That's where the real money is.

Yes, for sand, pickup then deliver. Repeat until you can’t go anymore. Most of them get creative with the time sheets, ELDs are not common.
Make money sending me some fracking sand, seriously for 3 years now I just wanted a few kilos of fracking sand here in Australia and I can't get it
I am hauling containers up here in the Seattle area and I have heard that some sand frac owner operators can make 10k a week. Do you know if this is true or is it just hearsay?
I’ve heard them making 8k a week here in Texas
they let you on a lease with that scruff?
Are these rotational jobs?
If You were to go back to frac sand hauling, who would you like to work for? Are there companies that are (word of mouth) better than the rest?
I'm applying to several now.
What do you think I should and where I should go. I want to make the big bucks and I don't give a shit what I have to do. But I don't have my hazmat or any endorsement on my license yet and I don't drive manual stick shift yet I only drive automatic
what you do now
@@baysouth-jv3sh I work for the city/Feds. I drive a garbage truck 🚛 I make pretty decent money to be honest
How do i get in
.i have no CDL..is there any company train new drivers??
Is the oilfield picking back up? I drove sand in 2021 and fuel in 2022 minutes n that Midland/Odessa area . When I was there it was slow
I’d say work is more spread out! Lots of work around Carlsbad and Jal! Also Mentone has been busy with Oxy taking over Anadarko
Do I have to relocate im in las vegas have all my endorsements? How long are you in the oil fields? And what's the pay like ?
You shouldn’t have to relocate, there are lots of people from out of state over here! Pay really varies from employer to employer. I did a few videos about trucking companies vs service companies!
@@WeroLocoTrucking appreciate the response 🏆🏆💯💯
I've been thinking about moving to Vegas. What's the trucking market like out there?
@Midnight Trucker is ok houses are beautiful not too high in price
I'm researching what oil field I wanna come too where they will train me im a fast learner did OTR wanna get into something different
What company to get on with to haul water in Shreveport la
What do you all think of the company sand haulers of America?
I don’t know much about them.
So all 3 methods pay the same
What’s a good water hauling company to get on with I’d rather stay in the truck and be by myself
Man if you don’t have experience, I’d say Pate Trucking or Equipment Transport, get some experience then move on to something that pays more. Once you get out here you will figure out really quick who pays good!
@@WeroLocoTrucking i hauled crude oil in Montana & North Dakota for 3 years would like to find something like your doing i like being by myself
Hello
Are any of the trucks automatic or all manual?
I have a restriction
Trying to get it off..
I would say 80% in the oilfield are manuals fam unless they are tandems those are mostly autos
thanks for the video brother, i have the 2+ year class A driving, i've been offered a frac sand hauling job, in sand box, is it worth it ? this one is also 120 mile trips, it looks like a lot of waiting and little driving, i ask because i just got my tanker and hazmat endorsement, so i'm between sand and hazmat hauling, any suggestions i would really appreciate it, thank you.
Hazmat for sure man, if it was me I’d stay away from sand. Your not going to make money, the only way to make money in sand is to work 24 hours a day and running 120 mile and up is dangerous on no sleep.
@@WeroLocoTrucking that's what i thought man, 24 hrs. a day is not even legal, thank you so much brother.
I am in the same position what would i do ? What’s the best company to apply for owner operators for hazmat
Hi! I am a new CDL driver with no experience can I work hauling frac sand as an owner operator I wish to work with someone for free to get training
No. Most places require 2+ years. For good reason. Some of the roads to the site are sketchy.
Thanks for the video very informative, looking forward to move there to work hauling sand, by the way new to your channel, i just subscribe bro.
Sir can you give the link that hire new Class A driver please
im currentl;y making a career switch from restaurant buisness to oilfeild. My current contract is over in may just tryniogn to get in a enrty level job
Do you have a CDL?
@@WeroLocoTrucking no sir
Who is hiring I’m looking to get apply somewhere
A lot of companies are hiring, just go on indeed or Odesa Craigslist.
Idk if you can help me out man. I have my own authority and I'm interested switching over to hauling sand. Do you happen to know any companies I can be set up as a carrier.
Prestige Logistics Group, but the insurance requirements are to expensive, best thing is to probably lease on somewhere!
Do the company you work for have man camps
Were do I sign up?
Can someone recommend a company? Im out here right now and its sad.
Are you home every day or how often?
Right now every 21 days, home for 10 days
Is this hard on the truck? Is the terrain tuff ?
Absolutely! Not as hard as some other jobs but you still go down some sketchy lease roads!
Hauling production water is easy😂😂 too
Not as easy as sand
Do they take in new cdl holders?
You may need to apply at several places but I’m sure someone will hire you! If not get some OTR experience at least 6 months.
Question, how much do o/o make out there?
Anywhere from 5k to 10k gross depends on company and what your doing, some jobs are harder that others!
Curious why are you talking about frac Sand
But you’re hauling water
I’m letting everyone know what jobs are available in the Oilfield, I’ve spent alot of time out here since 2015 and just want to be as transparent as possible with the current conditions. Also I’ve hauled sand before with pneumatic and it isn’t as good as it was.
They want u to run 2 logs....no thanks. I will stay with tankers.
Or no logs time sheet
I’m Automatic restricted is that a problem?
I would get that restriction off! Some of Mesquite’s guys had to remove it. There is a lot of older trucks with sticks, it’s hard to find a company running all Automatics
Some people talk about 5,7 and 8 thousands dollar🤣
Not as a company driver
Do you need to be a owner operator?
No, I’m a company driver. Sometimes they make more than owner operators!
how many hours per day do you work
Definitely your entire 14 maybe a few more, I’m actually uploading another video about sand hauling now… should be up by tomorrow!
How do I get on with one of these companies
Craigslist or Indeed
@@WeroLocoTrucking I appreciate that I saw that on the video right after I sent the message.
@@WeroLocoTrucking Are there companies out there I should be worried about
Where do i apply lol
Yea what he said
How much is an owner operator makes a week
Depends on what your doing, but average around 5 or 6k fuel bill somewhere around $1500
Thanks for the info. Are the truck manual transmission? I gave automatic restriction.
Almost all are going to be 10 or 13 speed transmissions! A lot of older model trucks. I’ve only seen 2 automatic in all my years out there!
No, thank you. I will keep re-watching your water videos😅
And yet we make just as much as you do. Js.
That’s great! Sand Hauling is just another job in the oilfield, not the best paying but it’s an easy job!
Where arevthey hiring. I'm looking for work
Everywhere, you can hit that Craigslist or Indeed to find a job now. Do you have oilfield experience?
I’m up by Houston and the only place I found that was hiring tanker drivers is Halliburton. I’m currently hauling flatbed to deliver to the rigs and it’s too slow, I need something else that pays the bills.
Have you tried hauling water?
@@WeroLocoTrucking I haven’t, my only experience in the oilfield is taking directional tools on a flatbed but I have my tankers endorsement.
Try water, I think Equipment Transport and Press Energy are still hiring without water hauling experience.
I drive for Walmart 😂 😢
Anybody frac sand companies hiring for drivers? Looking to be a company driver
Check out FEVID, Monster Box or Chalk Mountain. I’m not sure what they are paying but I see their trucks everywhere and drivers seem happy to be with those companies.
G&Z Transport is hiring for sand haulers in Brighton, CO and Farmington, NM.
If Trump becomes president again, oil field jobs should pick up again. He should ease up restrictions on domestic production like last time.
You won’t be making much money when the market gets packed with people from this videos.
That’s ok, just trying to get some information out there. The oilfield is not for everyone most do not stay very long anyway, but it’s up to them to figure that out.
@@WeroLocoTrucking agree with that 👍
Please clip the zip ties on your mirror 😏😏
Boring
Frac Sand?
Are their different HOS rules in TX oil fields, or y’all just run outlaw?
