I came across your videos looking for work in TX. I'm an owner op in CA (don't worry, not bringing CA problems with me) and just wanted to see what kind of weights you guys ran, if my equipment (pneumatic) would work from CA to TX.
Ive been in owner op for 8 years hauling crude oil here in Oklahoma. Ive hauled in Texas as well and everything your saying is incorrect. We don’t net 25% of what you’re saying, fuel $1800 on fuel a week? Thats crazy, i spend that in two weeks or less. Most producers have fuel surcharge which mean the higher the diesel the higher they pay the load. Plus some leasing companies offer great fuel cards with discounts fueling in certain truck stops. An if their truck keeps breaking down its because they bought a old shit truck or just don’t take care of it. I make 4-6k a week bring home after fuel, insurance and trailer lease and thats in Oklahoma. It’s probably more in south Texas since cost of living is higher down there.
How is your workload determined? Are you given a list of sites you must go to and then work at your own pace.....or are you dispatched on each and every load? Great video quality and great information! Thanks!
El Effe, thanks for your comment! To answer your question it can go either way. You can be dispatched to each and every location, especially if it is either a drilling rig or specific job type. As far as production goes you will be given a list of tank batteries to take care of either for the day or days and your job would be to keep those tanks as low as possible.
I hauled crude in MS, AL, LA. Most of the tanks were close to the paved road. I did a little bit of south and west TX. Man those lease roads are rough. I saw drivers going 50+ in company trucks on lease roads. The condition of the roads is a big determining factor of whether I'd owner operate or not. I've never been to ND, OK, or OH oilfields, but if the roads aren't too bad, it could be an option. Those TX roads are like nothing I've ever seen. You'll get a bad back and more. They'll jar your organs. I see nothing but company trucks in MS and our job market is such that they don't have to pay like TX to get willing hands.
So glad I came across this chanel thank you for all the great info I just got my cdl permit and getting ready to get my actual cdl and been going over options and driving for the oil field is something im definitely interested in the only problem is I live in North Carolina is it possible to get a driving position out of state or would I have to move there?
@sean Hobbs Absolutely man, I’m glad I can help out! I think oilfield is great for the short term but long term not so great. I tell everyone it’s great to take advantage of it, save your money then invest that money into something more sustainable. The oilfield is extremely volatile and and can shut down pretty much overnight. This has been the case since it first started out here in 2015.
Hey I just got my CDL class A how can I apply for this job? I been looking online but I can’t find the right way to apply or get a job. Can you help me with some info please? I’m located in New Orleans and willing to travel to texas
Thanks for the comment, for water hauling you don’t need a hazmat endorsement, only a tanker endorsement. Most jobs out here don’t require hazmat. The only jobs that would require hazmat is hauling oil or fuel.
I actually use my IPhone and VN video editor, and Epidemic for music. I had some go pro cameras but they were malfunctioning with all the dust. I may switch back in the future.
Hey Walter, I know the owner is in the process of buying more company trucks, at the moment he is hiring owner Operators. Do you have water hauling experience?
@@CEOWaltWorld hey don’t mean to butt in your conversation but I just wanted to chime in real quick. I haul fuel to rigs and frac sites. I average 70hrs a week. My company has us on a 5/1 schedule. We only have to take 24hrs off to restart our 70hrs. Gross pay is over $3k a week
The steering wheel clip board is genius!!
You saved me alot of head aches , thanks for info🎉🎉🎉🎉keep vids going

What oil field are you working in? I’m in North Dakota hauling water
Down here in West Texas, how is the work up there?
What is the name of the company where you’re working Wero? Are they hiring?
Mesquite Services in Carlsbad NM, they are hiring right now!
Do you need hazmat for this, or just tanker endorsement?
