This seems to be quite the "safety gadget" for many components that require 24/7 unsupervised control. Aquarium heaters are such an item. (sorry, I used the word "unsupervised" for a lack of better words) This would work very well in such an application as an aquarium heater system as Aquarium heaters are popular and well known for having their electrical contact points "fused" together. If this ever happens, it could be detrimental to temperature sensitive living organisms in the aquarium. By Using a Temperature controller in such a way that it actually shuts the power completely off from the "plug-in" part of the aquarium's power cord and not just at a certain point within the aquarium heater, this will actually function as a safety switch more than a control module.

To be fair, working out which of WORK1 & WORK2 are heat/cool is significantly easier than wiring up an STC-1000. I'd definitely go down this track when I have to replace the STC-1000, or if I needed another temperature controller.

If you think those instructions are bad you should try reading their PID manual. Enjoying your channel. Cheers

thanks, yeah I can imagine! Not sure how they make it so difficult for a relatively simple device

Hey great vid!!! Thanks a lot and good luck. That device works pretty good so far!!! The bloody instructions that come with it are such a bore!!!!

What happens when the unit completes the timer program? Shutoff? I bought a 308 specifically for a fermentation chamber, mostly because it is set it, then forget it. This would be useful for a lager, if not for that, I think I would rather have the WIFI unit. It doesn't do programmed cycles, but you can change it from anywhere and it is a bit more straightforward to use. I would hope that the software might be extended so the app controls the stepping like the 310, but does it through a nicer, more intuitive interface. Cheers! Well done, clear video.

I think it reverts to the temperature set for normal program, tbh now the wifi option is there I would rather have that too and yeah if they can add programmed schedules to it that will be awesome!

can it set the timer to hours instead of days? for example I want to set day time to 25c and after 12hours it will be set to 15c and so on. So like 2 stages for day and night temp. Thanks for the video

hello. I still don't understand something. I hope you know the answer. What i want from this device is having two different settings in one day. Actually every days. Like at day time (from 8am) till 21pm in need something like 19-21 celsius and in the night time so 21pm-8am i want to have temp 13-15 celsius. By the timer settings, is that possible to set up such a parameters? Thank You :)

I want to use it in my bettas tank but I'm concerned because would have liked to set temperature at 78.5/79 but can only set at 78 or 79 meaning at 78 (can only drop by 1f ) the lower heating differential would mean it wouldn't turn heater on till 77f . I've set it to 79f but it will swing between 78 and 79. Not really what I wanted.. Any advice welcome

Using Celsius units allows a finer level of control over temperature, to 0.1 precision.
