It is interesting to see the development in Amish societies. Still they have a lifestyle I understand much more getting older. Technology has totally taken over our lives and made us poorer and weaker as humans. We wanted to invent something that was supposed to make life easier for humans, but it went too far. Being dependent on it has made us slaves of it.
Social media is just one part of it, but it is also a part that first opened a door to making friends all over the world but ended up being controlled by others.
When we women finally got the rights to work as men, it was a period that felt like freedom, until it changed our lives so much that we started to struggle against our nature. Today we have to choose between having a family or a career. And having a family today is not financially possible on one income, so we need to work even more and not have time for the family.
That way I truly believe the Amish people have a lifestyle that more people would appreciate these days. Freedom is not always based on how much a person can choose between in life, but rather finding happiness within the life we have been given, grateful the small things we experience daily. ❤
