- Almost 80 years old, The Belleville Livestock Market has grown into, a market attracting thousands of buyers and visitors each Wednesday. Located in the heart of the Big Valley, AKA Kishacoquillas Valley, buyers come from all over the area to purchase antiques, vintage items, produce, baked goods, hand made items, as well as livestock and a large variety of birds and fowl. English and well as their Amish neighbors not only set up as vendors but are purchasers too. There are many places to grab a bite to eat or an entire meal. Held each Wednesday starting at 6:00 AM the market is a great way to spend a morning or entire day with your friends and family.
I last visited this Amish market 50 years ago, when I was a grad student at Penn State. My! How it has grown! It was just the baked goods, etc., barn and the livestock auction barn ... way back when. I plan to visit in 2025.
Favorite place on Wednesdays. Great deals and food.
I like seeing the Nebraska Amish in your videos. Hope to see more on them.
Swiss German Heaven! My Peeps! Great video!!
I love all your videos but can you just make these wonderful videos without any music we love the natural sounds .Thank you Sr
My wife and I live in Cumberland County and visit the Market about once a month. It's a beautiful rural setting there in Big Valley. Our only complaint is the condition of the market's parking lot. Some of the ruts / washouts are deep and wide. Given the number of visitors that attend the market, we think parking lot maintenance should be a big priority, especially considering the safety of others. In my opinion a front end loader or land plane of some kind would be an economical solution. We always look forward to the trip there and the people are down to earth as well.
Thanks for watching. The “parking lot” is a bit rough that’s for sure. It is a nice country market none the less. Down to earth and homey.
Happy Sunday!
i had my first woppie pie there in the 1960s
Wow that`s some low hazy weather there, Lovely mix of goods, quilts I love those, & yummy looking food.
It was that morning. A mix of wildfire smoke and morning fog. Thanks for watching another video. Greatly appreciated.
Good morning have a blessed day and may God bless you and keep you safe
Good video
Thank you so much. Your valuable time and comment are greatly appreciated.
👍👍👍👍👍
In my childhood I lived next door to the "Sale Barn". I was seldom permitted to walk over there on sale day.
We love to visit the Valley from KS in the warmer months and spend time walking through Belleville- reminiscing. We recognize the slower pace of life which reflects in the changeless society. As I watched this video- I marvel at the overall condition of the buildings. I recognize the "culture" of the Valley is that" it's fine" and doesn't need any paint or upkeep. The reality is - it will collapse around them IF no one takes any PRIDE in the maintenance of the buildings. Thanks for helping us recall the days of our childhood in your video production.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The buildings are showing their age that’s for sure.
They must sell hundreds of those pretzels. What do they charge for them?
Watch the whole video!! 🤣🤣🤣
If you keep showing these videos, its gonna start bringing riff-raff and no good into this fine community.
