I am so grateful for this interview. I believe in this direction for help. I had a very wealthy client that suffered from depression and drug addiction to Xanax. He was able to talk daughter and other care givers to take him to Switzerland for an assisted suicide. I was frantically against it and wanted him to have a chance. So heartbreaking 💔

I am a psychiatrist and have seen amazing results from patients taking a whole foods low carb diet. Mental clarity, energy, and mood improves. Even when multiple medications have failed.

~4 Months after starting A Zero Carb Carnivore Diet (for early T2 Diabetes - Quickly Cured BTW) I lost all interest in having my Habitual 3 or 4 Alcoholic Drinks/Day.
I was never a Compulsive Drinker... I rarely got a buzz any more.... There was no angst when there were no drinks for a few days. But a "Lack of Desire" to have a drink WAS VERY NOTICEABLY with the Low Carb State/Lower Blood Sugar "State". THEN...soon that lack of desire became a lack of consumption of Alcohol.... but NOW I feel a mild AVERSION to having a drink - I "feel" like know that I'll "feel" worse after having that drink....AND now I rarely do.
I am one of those people that can feel their Brains "Light Up" when my Ketones are High Enough (over 0.75 to 1.0 mmol/l).

Thank you Dhru and Dr. Palmer. My husband and I started a ketogenic/carnivore lifestyle over five years ago. We put many health conditions like pre-diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, fatty liver, high blood pressure, chronic skin conditions, IBS, sleep apnea and have lost over 65 lbs each and we have more muscles. Also, We have transformed our mental health from having depression, anxiety, racing thoughts, negative thoughts, low libido, hopelessness, alcoholism & lack of energy. My husband is 53 and I'm perimenipause at 51. We mainly eat beef, chicken, pork, eggs, seafood, fish and dairy! Both of us are healthier and happier than we have been our whole lives! Our journey shares what you eat and drink and don't eat and drink matters to your metabolic and mental health. We listen to Ken Berry MD, Dr. Chris Palmer, Anthony Chaffee MD, Shawn Baker MD, Kelly Hogan, Dr. Lisa Weideman, 2 Krazy Ketos and Mel Robbins among others in the health and wellness space like Dhru having fabulous guests. Thank you ❤️ Peace and Love

Outstanding podcast with Chris Palmer, yet the over abundance of ads is affecting my mitochondria in an unhealthy way. Ridiculous! I am only 35 minutes in. Greed is not good! Please evaluate the number of ads interjected here.

I'm ok with Mr. Palmer and maybe he is trying to head off smoking pot as dangerous but to date, sugar & alcohol, have been here our entire lives. Pot has only been ~legalized in the past few yrs... So I am not seeing pot has nearly as big an issue as all these sugar and alcohol products we have at our fingertips daily.

He has seen marijuana affect ppl’s mental health for years, why he’s saying so. It’s a drug, period, and it affects one’s moods and is proven to affect brain size and do brain damage. It also incites food cravings->mainly carbs.
There are lots of scripts and OTCs that are linked to dementia.

FYI: Opium is *physically* addictive. THC is *not* physically addictive. Mentally addictive maybe for some, *physically* addictive no.

Dont use computer analogy if you dont know computers. The motherboard is like the cell wall. The mitochondria is likely the power supply unit, and not the power cable.
