Thx. for the video. Why do they use Lead Acid Batteries to store the power instead of the new Litthium batteries? especially considering the new LFP battery chemistry has about 3000+ charging cycles. Also, can't help wondering what they do with all the garbage that is generated from those disposable 'Silver Foil Plates' that they use for eating food.
Waste is burned and buried. Lead acid batteries are affordable. NZ pays for their existence. The elders decide how funds are spent. An investment in Li batteries is more than they can afford.
If they had lithium batteries it would triple their battery capacity and have more fresh water from desalination plants, generators would not be required on in extreme emergencies.
