I’ve played for over 50 yrs., Dickie betts was a great influence on me. I got to hear him back in 1977 live, he came on stage with Eric Clapton in Atlanta and they played Layla together. It was the only time I ever heard both of them live. That’s some great playing you’re doing there. Double thumbs up. Great guitar too , looks fantastic , thanks for sharing.😊

Very Nice Dan, First time watching one of video's. I was you young teen in the early 70's and I still am deeply in love with the rock and roll music from the era. Every time now we lose another person ( like Dickey) I am deeply saddened. We have or about to loose just about all of them....sadly. Hey just an FYI for all guitar players out there.....( and i dont how else to do this except by using numbers and basically tab)... it goes like this.... On Low E ( 6th string) 0/3/5 then on the 5th string play an open A note then start the chords 002220 then x04232....have fun
I was actually playing this the other day it was a short of that beginning of Jessica riff, and I was playing it on a on a fiddle.. that was from like 1938 maybe earlier.. I love that song you sound Good Man

Your lovely wife has excellent taste in guitars!! I like the fact that you make no bones about guitar brand. If it is set up to your liking and it sounds good, it is good!! RIP Dickey Betts. Like you I grew up listening to the Allman Brothers, I had Live at Fillmore East and Eat a Peach on 8-track when 8-tracks were hip !! Great playing and that Slash Epi looks and sounds great!
Saw the Allman Bros. many times in many different places, Have played lots if their music on guitar and consider those experiences as bench marks musically. and saw Dickey with his own band back in the 80's. He most certainly had a big effect on me and he will be dearly missed.
It's all I f****** listen to is Allman Brothers Lynyrd Skynyrd in blues these days.. oh yeah and I'm on a bluegrass kick too lately yeah rest in peace dickey Betts. Still get Goosebumps listening to it
"Brothers & Sisters" was a treasured LP in my life. My first attempt at playing a lead was Ramblin Man. I did not know what I was doing. I learned the simple lead from Lies/JJ Cale. Boy, did I love that song. Thank you Dan. Jessica sounded very nice w/ looper. Tucson
