Omg finally some explaining this and not just showing us how to do it! I was so confused about threaded rods and their measurements! No can I just use two keyboards and glue them together to do this?

You can use different kinds of boards to make something like this. Just test the sturdiness of your board to make sure that it’s solid enough to keep a cake like this from tipping over.

Thanks! The little wooden 3 inch cake circle I picked up from a craft store like Michaels but I bet you could find them on Amazon as well and the 4 inch cardboard cake circles were purchased on Amazon.

Do you clean the threaded rod before assembly?

Yes, and then cover it with foil tape so that it is food safe ☺️

Does it have to be on a wood slab or can this be done on a cake drum??

You could do it on a sturdy cake drum. I like the wood because it has more weight and I don’t fear that it will topple over when it’s too heavy but if you’re careful I would think a cake drum would work
