    Good video. I don't know why all the other videos on this product attracted the weirdos, but this is a good one, LOL. I just ordered one and have always been a Fiskars fan. They make good stuff.

    Thanks again for your great review.... It appears that the pruning blade does not have an opposing blade or a pass by metal plate.... If only plastic, I.M.O., it would certainly wear to the point that small young branches under a 1/4" wouldn't cut cleanly or at all. If Fiskars addresses this, I'll re-consider this pole trimmer. Thanks again. Great job. 👍

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  15 днів тому

      Thank you and you are correct on that. It should have the opposing same material blade made of steel. for the smaller branches sometimes they get stuck. Its part of the main case out of aluminum and the other part is plastic. I would assume that with time the opposing blade section will wear out. They do have lifetime warranty but do take sometime to respond.

    funny a few years ago Fiskars had a recall on this locking system, they wanted you to send them a picture that you destroyed this pole and they sent you a coupon for a new free pole, I kept my old pole because I never had a problem

    Thanks for the Great Review!! I'm trying to decide between the one you reviewed and the Fiskars 7.9ft-12ft Extendable Pole Tree Pruner / Trimmer that has a rotating head w/ the rope being internal. I have a couple questions if youy don't mind. How many / size between increments can the pole adjust? Thanks again! 👍

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  16 днів тому

      Hello the 14 ft Fiskars pole saw has about 22 inches of increments which you can snap them section to section. The 16 ft Fiskars does about 17 inches increments. The 16 ft one cuts thicker branches and has a 3x pulley instead of the 2x for the 14 ft one so its easier to cut. The 16 ft has a better blade also. On the 16 ft one when collapsed its shorter than the 14 ft pole. Hope this helps. thank you

    Have you had issues with the pulley not fully opening the cutter after cutting a branch? Did a job today and that kept happening.

      hello I did with my first one but had it replaced at Homedepot and the second one works fine. Try a little lubrication on the moving parts just in case. They do have lifetime warranty but take a bit to respond just have to patient if you do a warranty. Let me know how it goes I do like mine it cuts very smooth.

    Something that has not been addressed on all the videos I've watched, on the 16ft version can the the saw blade be stored in a down position, or do you just have to remove it? Big flaw if it can't be stored in the down position.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Рік тому +1

      Hello I know what you mean but on my older one 14' it gets loose all the time when I use the saw. When I am using the cutter it gets loose so I just remove it and it also makes the tool heavier. For the 16' it has a dedicated slot for when you are using the saw which is perfect but if you want to store it you can remove the blade from the slot and twist it down and it can be stored in that manner. If you will be using the cutter I would not recommend having the blade on there. It will be heavier and snag on branches while you cut. As far as using the blade its very effective in cutting and it will not come loose like the other one. When storing it downward it doesnt have a particular slot for the blade but can be done like I mentioned. Thank you

    The 16 footer is same as Husky? They look exactly the same

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Рік тому +1

      Hello they do look similar but the Husky is actually wider on the top. Specs are about the same I saw it the other day and was too thick. Even the Fiskars is already big but manageable. The Fiskars 16' is very smooth cutting and blade is great. Its not perfect but is very good. I was going to test the Corona maybe I will review both. thanks

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Рік тому

      Hello the issues with that is that you would increase the cut length of the branch. This pruner is very powerful and cuts well the max diameter of the branch. Thanks

    My experience with Fiskars is they are over engineered(complicated) underdesigned (don't work well) and unreliable tools(broke often). And heavenly expensive too.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Рік тому +1

      I can understand that. I did notice some week points that I would do different. I have a previous version the 14 ft one with the simple mechanism and works well but had trouble cutting thick branches. This one cuts mush easier but got stuck once in a while. I still enjoy using it with the blade too. I am waiting for the trees to grow so I can also try out the Corona one and compare them. thanks

    So you have a 10 year old pole saw and say that the rope hasn't given you any problem so you think that's relevant to what rope they put on a new pole saw. And yes they have a lifetime warranty but be prepared to wait three to four weeks for a reply when you send them an email or try to file a warranty claim.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  9 місяців тому

      Yes you are correct about the fact they do take long about the warranty but they do honor it. My old one had some wear on the notches but still worked. I did the warranty and it was honored but took a bit. I know rope is no biggie but with time ropes get brittle and fail specially if you keep outdoors. I keep inside so rope was not a failing factor. Video was to show the cutting capability of the longer pruner vs the shorter one. Even the new one needs some improvements but for the price its not a bad option.
