Physical brute strength doesn't equal to long term survival. Dogs are practically dumb unless trained. They need to be walked, washed, etc. They can hardly do things on their own. Cats are extremely intelligent and most dogs are afraid of them. In a hypothetical if both dogs and cats had posable thumbs, cats would ultimately destroy the dogs. Also, not all dogs are naturally bred. Those big brute ones are genetically modified. Without humans theyd practically go extinct

My cat has thumbs. Ive been told that they are for stability on snow to make them a better hunter. Every vet that I’ve taken my cat to has said anywhere from 500-700 years and every cat will have this mutation.
