    They work in the wet! Just got back from my first ride with the Raid. Coming from the Mission. It’s been raining non stop in New England here. I couldn’t ride off road with the Missions due to zero confidence turning and lack of forward drive in anything wet. These Raid’s ripped up a wet hill and wheelied when entering my trail today. The next section was basically a river and slop. I could ride through it in a controlled two wheel drift without the fear of loosing the front end of this 450lb bike and it kept driving forward even with the soft ground and muck. I think that between the tread design, softer compound and softer ply of this tire makes this tire far superior to the Mission in every way. Even on dry pavement the tire hooks up where the Mission would suddenly blow sideways when accelerating. It just complimented everything that my KTM 790 Adventure was built for and the tires aren’t holding it back anymore!

    Installed these a couple months ago on my BMW R1200GSA in preparation for an ADV training class that took place last weekend. They're a little loud on the road, but the traction was really good in both dry and wet conditions. It rained off and on during the ADV class, and they performed really well on both wet grass, light mud, and gravel road conditions. Was able to maintain traction control in all of the offroad conditions. I purchased mine online, had them shipped to my house for free, and installed/balanced them myself (first time ever trying that).

    The Raid is a fantastic tire. I just rolled over 6500 miles on my 390 and they have been great and they probably have 2k left in them! I concur with all of the findings you have explained. Nice video, love the explanation and scenery.

      They are sticky if you want something that can go in the dirt a bit more…. But not sticky like a good street tire. All depends where you ride at

    Prepping for my Baja trip from San Diego and on my Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I really love my Trailmax MIssions...and have also heard great things about the Raids as well. I think I'll go with the Raids for my Baja trip. Thanks and great vids ..keep em coming.

    • @EverySingleSunday
      @EverySingleSunday  2 місяці тому

      If you’re heading to Baja a more aggressive tire will be a step up if you plan on doing much dirt. Baja has lots of sand and pokey things. If you do mostly paved roads and some wider dirt the Raid will be fantastic, but if you plan to do more dirt maybe look at some Tusk 2 tracks. All depends on what you want to ride. Have fun down there

    Good vid and beautiful ride. I've been lookiong at these for my BMW R9T urban GS. No not a dirt bike at all but I do a lot of hard pack dirt and gravel roads in KY and VA. My back yard. Then I run in the mountains of Colorado. Believe these will do well. You got to get there.

    I just purchased a G310GS Rally. I had them put the Raids on them before I picked it up. Prior to this bike I was riding a XT250 Yamaha with Dunlop 605. I ride all the forest roads in the Appalachian Mt. Tenn., NC, GA. The 605 work great on loose gravel (sometimes you get recently graveled areas that are like 2" thick) but getting there and home wears you out. I wanted something (as far as the bike goes) that would get me there more comfortable on the street. So I picked the Raids for better road ride but would handle the forest roads. Been on about 150 miles of trails so far (I've had the bike two weeks) and to your point the hard dirt and small loose rocks these tires are fantastic! On the street awesome! In thick loose newly laid gravel I had to hold on. Front end gets a little squirrely. No bid deal but my XT250 would plow through it better. I think some of that is the bike, 21" front tire that is more narrow on the XT250 makes forward movement through that stuff a little easier. Also the XT is 80 pounds lighter so some bike, some tires. Bottom line, 130 miles of the 150 this bike and tires were perfect. 20 miles of off road I had to hold on a little. Tight slow gravel turns the front end wanted to lie down but a little gas would bring it back up. I too grew up on the dirt. Was going to race motocross for a living until I broke my hand in 5 places one practice session and decided on another career lol. However I continued riding my entire life. Thanks for the great video. I think it's spot on! Newer less experience off roaders my op for a more aggressive tire if they are not doing much street riding.

      You nailed it. It’s all a trade off for sure. You’ll need to try some real knobbies someday on the big bike so you can see what they do. These big pigs don’t really like the loose stuff much so it’s great to have a baseline on what a knobby front will actually do for comparison. Thanks again

    Nice thorough review! How was the tire wear? Any idea of how many miles you think you will get out of them?

    • @EverySingleSunday
      @EverySingleSunday  12 днів тому +1

      It was definitely wearing out back after 2k miles. I’d say they will probably last 4-5 but aren’t good as the rear tread would be pretty low after 3-5k. It’s hard to use an offroad tire once it’s 1/2 gone

    Great for the wet countries, not so great for the dry hot ones. The gravel roads here will rip those soft rubber to pieces. There is a reason they are not even selling them here in South Africa. The Missions on the other hand is the other way around. The hard rubber is great for our hard rocky gravel roads, and many riders here use them because they do not puncture easily.
