- We have a new present for the cows! A new cow scratcher! In this video I show the new cattle brush we got for our cows. I go through and show how the brush is built and we see how well the cows seem to like it.
Hardest working guy on UA-cam! Keep up the good work Bryan! Spring is almost here!
Thanks! I don’t know if I can accept the title of hardest working haha. I do stay busy though.
Good update Bryan! Like the design and mobility of the cow scratcher! Boy those calf huts are indispensable! Spring is coming!!
The calves sure seem to love them! The cow scratcher has been a big success!
Didn't take the cattle long to find it and figure it out. Great find.
They have seemed to love it so far!
You're son is already a help😀
He’s starting to tag along more and more lately
First reaction: so much snow still!
There was alot of snow. I’m behind on my editing so this was filmed back in March
Nice cow brush, Thanks for sharing Bryan 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Glad all is well, hope you get better weather soon. I cant imagine what I would do with so much snow. In my 60 some years, I have only see 1 to 3 inches of snow 3 times in our area. Have a great day.
The snow and cold definitely start to wear on you but probably not anymore than the heat you guys experience down there.
Luthi Ranch idea...
Fabrication video 😁.
A rub pipe where the rings are. Then forks/spears will go underneath pipe to pick up cow scratcher. You won't have to get out of tractor to hook up chain. Paint the pipe with box liner to give the pipe roughness. Just an idea.
The cows will appreciate the new toy😂😂
Good idea! The cows sure have been liking it so far.
Excellent addition to the ranch, good time of the year also. They'll be shedding soon and I'm sure those brushes will get a lot of use. My daughter has two at her place and the cows do appreciate them, our place has hickory and oak trees to scratch on and they got em pretty worn down so we get rugged zip ties and scratching mats and put them around the trees, they work great. They should be coming over in a week or so. Great video stay safe
I’ve been really happy with it so far. I think it’s keeping them from rubbing on the fences so much. There’s a whole pile of hair under it right now haha. Good to hear from you! Hope you and your family are doing great!
That's a nice cow scratcher! I had to giggle at the poor calves lying in the shelter and how confused they must have been when it started moving away.
When I first started out researching ranching work on UA-cam, my friend suggested Dale Brisby as a possible good source. And I do watch some of his stuff. But I only get like 1/6th of the references and jokes, and it all feels... I don't know, staged? I much prefer the honest look at things from people like you and FTR and 10CR. Gives a much better idea of the intensity of the work and is just all around more enjoyable.
Thanks for the compliment! I enjoy watching FTR also. I’m not familiar with 10 CR
@@LuthiRanchWY 10 Cow Ranch. He has a small personal herd of, unsurprisingly, ten cows, for his own and his family's private use.
Ok I know who you are taking about I watch his channel on occasion too. He’s comments on our videos pretty often. He lives down in Utah
Finally finishing gates for my heifers I am and had to go to store for more bolts
Nice! Always something.
First double brush I have seen. Alot of good engineering out there that is mot in factories. Iknow the videos run on a delay so I hope the weather is straightening out. People were at the beach on the Mississippi river last Sunday in NW Illinois. Cold this week though. Be safe.
The weather is starting to feel like spring now. This one was filmed back in March so things have changed a lot since then. Not quite beach weather yet though haha
Awesome engineering
They do good work
If I was to guess I’d say that cow brush looks like a Kendall Jenkins special. Sure seems to be a hit.
Haha how’d you know!? I didn’t know you knew them.
@@LuthiRanchWY That guy is a wizard. He can make anything - from your description and having been in his shop, I just figured it had to be him. He made some portable stoves for an outfitter friend of mine and when I went to see him, he convinced me (easily) that I needed an old woodstove with a modified fire box to pipe hot air through it. Best addition to my shop.
They can make about anything down there! It’s cool knowing we have a mutual acquaintance!
Just when does your snow disappear??
BTW.. l really like your calf huts . Scratcher looks pretty good too!
Haha usually around this time of year is about when it goes away. I’m about a month behind in editing my videos so this one was actually filmed in March. Things are looking a lot different now. I’m trying to get caught back up with my videos
You sure gave a long winter. On average how many feet of snow do you get in a winter? Back scrather looks great, and it works.
The winters around here do get pretty long. It’s pretty normal for us to have 2-3 ft of snow on the valley floor. We have snow on the ground from mid November to mid April most years. I’ve been very happy with the back scratcher!
Hi Bryan, when did this storm pass over you?
This was back towards the beginning of March, I’m about a month behind with my editing haha
@@LuthiRanchWY no problem, I was just curious. That was a good wet snow!
It was really wet.
I've been lucky i have been very self sufficient all my life. All the steel and bolts and stuff to help a farm or equipment I used to have has to go to the scrap.
No one does their own fixes welding anymore. Sad...
You are definitely at an advantage if you can do a lot of your own repairs and builds
Praying Father's continued favor over your life. May He place His mighty right hand of protection over your ranch.
In the name of Yahshua: Amen.
Thank you!
