The Ouid is also great for hard water buildup as it contains chelating ingredients. I moved to a city with very hard water, and it ruined my once incredibly healthy hair. I constantly had a flaky scalp. I used the shampoo 2x (in that week) to get rid of the buildup and in helped so much! I now use it once in a while to remove the hard water buildup. UPDATE: Besides flakiness, i also lost a lot of my hair due to hard water. I've been using a water filter (Hello Klean, original tap version) since October, together with chelating shampoo 2x a month. I also do an oil treatment or exfoliation treatment once in a while if my scalp is very dry. My hair is so much better!! All of my lost hair has been growing back the last few months. It's still at that awkward stage where it's shorter than the rest of my hair, and it often stands upright, but it's growing back!! My scalp is definitely also way better. I don't think I can get it as healthy as when I lived in a relatively soft water area, but It's at least doing better than before
@lokoforjustinbieber than I would suggest trying a chelating (detox) shampoo. Not just a regular detox shampoo. Because all types of (high amounts of) minerals in your water can cause a buildup. I would use a chelating shampoo 2x in a row when washing your hair and if it works only using it as maintenance like 2x a month. The Ouid also have a mini version of the shampoo to tey out. Or you could try the Hello Klean one as they also have a mini of their scalp soak. This one is less "detoxing" and low foaming but also specifically for hard water buildup. I also use the Hello Klean body wash which has helped me immensely as i have very dry and eczema prone skin. As i found that these helped a lot I have now also installed the water filter from Hello Klean. So I'll have to see how that one helps. But if those don't work and the problem is maybe a 'deeper buildup' or not specifically from hard water minerals, you could also try a scapl exfoliant. Like an aha or bha pre-shampoo treatment. And my tips is to not put your hair under the water longer than it needs. So wash out your shampoo and conditioner etc. and don't punt your hair under the water anymore. Or if you're just washing your body, wear a shower cap so your hair and scalp won't get wet in between washes. I only wash my hair about twice a week, but the water has completely damaged my hair over the last year. I've always had very healthy hair, but my waves went limp, my scalp turned flaky and after months I started noticing hair loss. I now use my special shampoos, use exfoliants and scalps oils/treatments and have the filter. It's definitely improved my hair again, but I'll have to take a few months to completely restore it. So I would try and do something about it sooner rather than later 😅
