What's interesting Ineos a team with reputation and budget to adopt new technology first for marginal gains performance has decided to stay with rim brakes and be the last hold out on the Pro peloton. That says says it all about disk brake "advantage" on road bikes.
@@matthewlewis2072 if you are implying that disk brakes are progress than explain the extra mass, special tool requirements, rubbing, squealing, whole bike exchanges vs. simply exchanging a wheel, extra spokes, heavier wheels, and heavier uncymetrical frames.
When you puncture, Quick releases are much easier to get a spare tire without tools. This openes possibility of help from neutral service, team cars, and strategically placed staff ( think Paris Roubaix). Teams on disk brakes and through axles need a whole bike exchange for a simple puncture. Road racing is different worlds from MTB. The Quick release does it's job.
Porte's bike likely had additional mass added, considering the weight difference between the sponsor correct C60 wheels that were shown in the video, and the wheels he actually used for most of the race Princeton Carbonworks 4540's just so happened to get it right to the UCI weight limit.
@GCN Racing... Had Tom Pidcock had disc brakes on his road bike he probably would have won the Tour de France. Just look what he did with disc brakes at the Olympics!
Very wonderful to see a rim brakes bicycle. Disc brakes ruined the look and the aerodynamic of the bicycles. 😞 The biggest marketing scam in the history of bicycles.
Kid sized rider. Much, much faster than you though! (I admit it is tiny. Pidders is roughly 170cm and that 46.5cm frame only has a 515mm tt. So with a 110mm stem that's still a short reach.)

beautiful bike with no stupid discs

I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to suggest that bike will win quite a lot of significant races!
He will be on a Dogma F now, so it probably is a stretch.

2:11 why can’t they make crank end caps like that for the regular non power meter cranks? Maybe I should just get it 3d printed…
Only one change I would need...compact chainset! :)
wow superfast bike👍
Everything but the frame size!
Literally the only time you'll see it with Shimano wheels and not Lightweights

where I can buy duraace rim brake wheels? I can't find C60 versions at shops :(
Don't bother, they're trash

QR axles in 2021? As an MTBer myself I’m surprised QR it still used on these high-end bikes
they're much easier to live with and service.

Alright, I guess these bike don’t go through as much pressure/force in that area, obviously
