I think there's a point in every musicians career when they decide to try something new. Some evolve some devolve. You can't hate on them or call them sell outs just because they wanna make a little money doing what they love. You don't know the struggle until you've spent 10 years living out of a van, off mcdonalds pissing in water bottles on the way to the next gig. They deserve a tour bus with a shitter and this new sound is gonna get them just that. They didn't sell out, they bought in
GhostTownGrey Semantics. When you change/water down your sound to make more $$$ that's the definition of selling out. Other bands/musicians are far less popular than VoM yet stay true to their sound. If you're in it for the money then you're in it for the wrong reasons imo. You can tell which bands are (All That Remains) and which bands have integrity (Shadows Fall). Sticking to your sound might not always make you that big $$$ (Shadows Fall called it quits this year) and it's the artist's decision if they want to trade their integrity for money. However, when a band does make that choice, we as fans have the right to call them sellouts, which they are at that point.
Dystopia1980 okay, so now you would rather watch your favorite musicians work at fucking McDonald's instead of making a sound that might make them more money all because you don't like change? That's mighty selfish bud.
***** Cmon you're reaching a bit. Veil of Maya before they made this change was already pretty big and on a relatively major label. There are much less popular bands making much less money that do it for the love of the music. Spawn of Possession formed in 97 and are still making tech death, I don't see them adding cleans nor do I see them working at a McDonalds. Muhammad and Necrophagist haven't released an album in over 10 years but are probably still reaping money off continued merch sales and clout from Epitaph alone. Heaven Shall Burn, Decrepit Birth, Black Dahlia Murder, plenty of bands are doing fine without selling out, and VoM is arguably equally or more popular than all the bands mentioned.

One of my favourite songs of this Super MetalCore band! 🤘 This band is one of the best ever MetalCore bands!! Respect❤️🤘
EREEENN!!
😢 I miss you 4ever
Huge VEIL OF MAYA fan.
I've seen em live 9 x"s since 2014.
