Thats so vague and could mean anything. Cling onto something more specific or anything for that matter…Because that is all you will do in life is cling onto something.
+Trent Blaser-Welch where is that ever referenced in their lyrics. Nowhere do the lyrics ever make even a tangential reference to Meteor, the Lifestream, or Aeris.
I've been listening to VOM since 2010ish and I couldn't be happier to see and hear the direction they've taken their music it's been rad watching them grow as musicians
@@royalmusic5s100 this songs pretty old they don't play it live much anymore and the video game the title of this song was based off of was remade recently so they need to play this song again.

One of my favorites off Matriarch. Cool to see them make a music video for it, but still sad that they didn't play this live when they came to my city this Summer. They better next time!
Man, Lukas is freaking awesome!! When I heard that Brandon left, I was sure these guys would suck. Then Phoenix released. At the time, I thought it was ok. He had a sharper edge to his voice. Something Brandon didn't have. Then I heard Mikasa and I as blown away. Lukas added moreof a darker edge to the sound but also made it more melodic. He's got an amazing voice. His ability to scream/growl and sing are freaking amazing. But I would like to see a more darker sound on their next album like Teleute was.
Everyone is complaining that this album is nothing like The Common Man's Collapse, well I mean... that album came out 8 years ago so it's not like they would stay the EXACTLY the same. Bands like to progress and change so why do you all gotta be so sour? Enjoy the music if you can dig it, if not maybe look somewhere else instead of hating on something all these guys put their effort into, SHEESH.
loving this new VOM ... being an anime fan myself, this is overwhelming :) thank you guys. you give us the most precious gifts that save us from insanity-music.
I didn't care for Veil of Maya prior to Matriarch, but their new sound is just amazing. They blend melody with metal so perfectly, the resulting sound is gorgeous ❤
+Popabuddy1 Damn. I actually disliked Deathcore in general when I first heard of VoM, but The Common Man's Collapse REALLY got me into VoM. I even liked their All Things Set Aside demos. Matriarch blew me away also. I have no idea how they wrote those interesting riffs.
The last minute of this song just gets me dude... I don't think I ever really put too much thought into aeris's character until watching this video though. As she is holding her necklace and clearly struggling with something (probably realizing that she will have to die for the planet, and accepting it)... It feels silly to almost be brought to tears thinking about a video game character, particularly when presented by a djent/prog-metalcore band, but damn, I gotta own it. The fact that much of the song is primarily in a major key (which is so atypical of metal), almost hints at the touch of joy that Aeris presumably felt at the thought of sacrificing her life for the lifestream. Despite losing her own life, knowing that it would be for the purpose of saving the planet, and cloud, and even to a small extent out of a forgiveness to Sephiroth for his loneliness, misdirection and rage at his abandonment... She is basically the embodiment of sacrifice, forgiveness, and acceptance, and she accepts it with such grace. Such beautiful storytelling.
Love this album. I was super happy when youtube randomly showed Veil in my suggested videos and I was like..... NEW ALBUM SICK. Love the references in the titles.

The best of the veil of maya is the contrast of the 2 voices with guitar melodies, also the bass you hear great new riffs, all very well prepared, gratz
Salvatration Halex I just enjoy my fair share of clean vocals, personally I like screaming but it's over-saturated.. 99% of the bands I click on youtube these days will most likely be just screaming. It's too common. I enjoy someone who can actually sing.
