Good morning Lumnahs, Hawaii is still in the upper 80's low 90's ~ sunny with occasional showers. So excited about the workshop and what you folks are doing. Please don't do the projects without us. We enjoy watching you and Gina working together and these tips and tricks you share with us are quite fascinating. Will you be painting the floors or will you do them like the milking room? That finish really makes the wood pop. I don't care how tedious the job is, watching you both work together makes my heart happy. Olivia is a joy to watch when she interacting with the animals. Stay blessed everyone 🤙
Love how the goats are feeling more comfortable in pasture. Willow leads the way though, lol... queen bee if the herd that for sure. So cute to see them romping towards you guys when you go get the eggs . Thanks for sharing with everyone.
I paint signs and sometimes ill make a wash with coffee grinds vinegar water and rusty items. Sos pads.. Nails etc. It is a beautiful stain. Your barn is coming along beautiffuly
Yes please!! Lets see a video on the front door makeover! I love your videos Al. They are so inspiring. I am so happy for your family now that Gina is able to stay home with you as well. Keep up the great work.
The frost high on the windshield is due to radiative cooling. The lower part of the windshield "looks" at the house, which reflects heat back at it. The higher part of the windshield "looks" at the sky. And if there are few or no clouds, the heat radiates out into space, cooling that part of the windshield more than the lower part.
Dear Lumnah family and friends I really enjoyed watching the barn grow today and it was so delightful to see most of the animals currently at Lumnah Acres get together and know each other. Tanner knows he’s supposed to be a shepherd but he doesn’t quite understand his strength. I can’t believe how quickly Tanner is growing; sometimes we wish they could stay little much longer and this year he’s getting his winter coat earlier. I really love the stain and colorings. Have a wonderful day. 🙏🤟🙏
Yes I want to see what you're going to do to the door and the new tool. The contrasting wood is going to look so nice when you get done. The pigs are getting huge, and the goats as usual are so sweet.Have a good day Lumnah family.
We want to see all the things you do on the homestead. I look forward to your videos every day, and even the bonus videos are a fantastic way to put a smile on my face.
Barn is looking super. Love watching the goats race around in the pasture....Hope is still loving her attention...sweet girl. Can't wait to see how you customize the door.....thanks for sharing your farm and family with us.
Al, take the top two rungs off the loft ladder but leave the rails long so you've got something to hang onto(specially for Gina) to get into the loft. Great job. You've given me ideas and tips almost every video.
Good mauhnin Al! Yes on the door please! Love watching the goats come running over to you when you enter the pasture! Never realized goats were such social creatures! Barn looks great, can’t wait to see it completed. Take care folks, till next time!👋
You are correct with your quote, staying positive is the best way to think. Thank you for the reminder. I enjoy watching you ‘creat’ everything you do. Thank you for sharing. A fan. Patty
It doesn’t matter what project you attempt or do Al - it’s always worth watching! Great seeing you and Gina working so well together. God bless you and your family. 🇬🇧
A couple days ago you were talking about cutting off the loft ladder and hinging it with a pulley to lift it when it wasn’t needed. I would suggest that you leave one side of the top as a handrail so you have something to hang onto when you are coming down. Love your videos sharing your life. Thanks. Keith.
Dwell in the possibility...great quote. Since I deal with anxiety too, if i dont stay focused, my mind can get stuck on all the worse case scenarios and then react in the present accordingly. Dwelling in what is possible can help regain hope and get us to respond appropriately, without fear, knowing things will work out. Exactly what I needed today. Thanks!
Up here in the MItt; 44f, low tonight 39f. The young master builder down in N.C. surprised Dad yesterday by saying he is not buying any more tools until November. Dad surprised asks why. Young master builder; "Character & self discipline." Bonus: I win the wood finish debate again! Partner; Polyurethane it. (actually everything) Me; nooooo, Tung or Boiled linseed and YOU did the whole house. I like it!
Hi Al, Gina, Olivia, Pluto, Tanner, Figuro, Willow, Blossom, Buttercup, Hope, Little Man, Little P, Magnolia, Zeke, Caleb, Pork, Chops, Moose and all the other chickens. I would watch you do anything. Of course I would love to see your door trick.
Workshop is really going to be fancy! Love it! Loved seeing the goats come running for their hugs!🤗 Not easy to change your thinking but well worth it! Have a great weekend!💕
I like the color of the beams, its beautiful! I love watching you do things! If its not too much trouble to watch you do the door would be great! Everything is awesome Al. Love and hugs from Texas.
Loved the Goats running about!! They are so cute!! As to your request: Positive thinking thou sometimes a challenge, is something we have to strive for. Keep your spirit up! Be positive!!
That stain really did bring out the structure, it is going to be beautiful with the lighter color walls. I would love to see you gussy up a less expensive door. Have a Blessed day.
I love seeing Pluto & Tanner interacting with the other animals! Tanner herding the escaped ducks & chickens is great! Those goats are getting really comfortable out in that large pasture which is a good thing too. Have you made any decisions on free ranging Moose & his ladies? Also, where are you going to house the new smaller breeding flock now that the weather is getting colder?
If I see you using the "the Walt" , it always remembers me of my dad. Have a nice weekend Lumnah family. Greetz from the Netherlands. Love the way of life you are living 👍🏽🐐🐔🐶🐷
I, like a lot more of your subscribers love seeing more of Gina in the videos. You all work great together. I hope you all are enjoying making videos together. Personally I am enjoying watching Olivia grow up. She is such a sweet and beautiful child.
Yesterday we had a motivational speaker at an event at work and he talked about "Wow" people vs "How" people. Where one is in a state of awe of what may be possible and the other is gets hung up on all of the reasons it is not possible. Modern day society has certainly trended toward squashing the "Wow" and turning the endless possibilities of child-like mind of wonder into the reasons why possibilities are limited and innovative/creative ideas won't work of a close minded cynic... It was all about trying to return to a state of wow. To allow ourselves to rest in the "What If..." possibilities for a bit, before we start rationalizing it and putting limits on it. Not that you shouldn't be realistic and see true limitations. But we tend to move to those limitations so quick that many of them are not real limitations, but self-imposed.
The trim is looking really nice and when you put that piece of shiplap up next to it, well it was breathtaking. I'm not kidding, I'm not trying to be dramatic. But when you get the whole thing done people are gonna be like oh my gosh, will you look at that! And your quote at the end, it's sometimes difficult to do, but the challenges I've faced recently have put more in a position to learn it. Thanks Al. 🐐💓💛💚💙💜
Looking good . Al with his new compound sliding miter saw . We need one of those . LOL . Yes you will need that for cutting those wide boards for the walls . One straight cut and not needing to turn the boards over like you had to do with the other saw. Al , no need to ask if we want to see you do something . I love watching everything that you , Gina and Olivia do on the Homestead .
Windshield: The dash (inside) retains the heat from the previous day. I wanted to suggest you to seal the floor BEFORE using the liquid iron, but my time machine wouldn't start this morning... ;) But maybe I am in 'time' to suggest that if you are going to treat or stain the finish board in the barn, you do it BEFORE nailing it up. Makes things MUCH easier!
Yes, I am always trying to think the best. I guess I call it faith. I am always saying " I have faith that is will work out." So, I agree with your statement. Hugs and Prayers Ya'll
Would love to see what you do with painting the door. I love the look of the iron stain in the barn. Your goat herd is the sweetest and Hope is still the most adorable and loving (like a puppy). So wonderful for them to have a nice big pasture to roam around in and love it when they run up to you all when you go out to collect the eggs or just be with them. I enjoy learning new things from you - thinking of what I could make to stain with the liquid iron (thinking a small fence in my backyard).
You're funny. "We needed it" was always my go to to get a new sewing machine...how many is too many...is 4 enough? Lol. Love you guys. Be safe. Bless you all.
I would LOVE to see you customize your front door. I LOVE ALL your videos.. I haven't seen a one yet that I don't like. My husband found your channel a few weeks ago here on youtube and we sometimes binge watch you.. lol I love it.. God bless you and your sweet family and your entire homestead...
I love everything you guys are doing...you are amazing. So encouraging...thank you...you help me dream bigger and stay focused. Sometimes I have to remind myself that the small thing are often times the most important because without them I can't obtain the larger goal.
I really like the darker stain that you've done in the main part of the barn. Nice! And I really liked today's quote. It struck home for me. Thank you!
Gooood Mawnin' Al! FYI Chelation (US: /kiːˈleɪʃən/, UK: /tʃɪ-/) is a type of bonding of ions and molecules to metal ions. It involves the formation or presence of two or more separate coordinate bonds between a polydentate (multiple bonded) ligand and a single central atom.
Love your videos, takes me back to when I was a kid on my grandfathers farm. I see you feeding the pigs twice daily, have you ever thought of an automatic feeder, one that holds 50lbs or so. With your carpentry skills would be very easy to make. Keep up the videos, my daily dose of nostalgia.
Beams look great! The heat loss in the milking room is through the window. If you want to prevent most of it, I'd suggest using an insulated curtain. Easy to roll up during the day, then close at night. Love to see your door job, too.
Hello, my husband and I really enjoy your videos. We live in VT about 45 minutes from you. We were trying to figure out what breed of dog Pluto is. I guessed Irish wolfhound, but I don't think I'm right. My favorite part of the videos is the collecting of the eggs. I think you guys should cook together more in your videos, we love that. Keep posting, we love em.
It’s a workshop, not a man cave. But it would make a really great man cave with a wood stove and coffee pot and a big screen and a recliner and .... 😎👍
As Joe said, "It's a workshop not a man cave." Not only will Al be using it for his woodworking, but he said they plan to use it for soap making, as well. You don't really want carpet around where you're going to be using lye water and oils. Too much of a risk of ruining them by an accidental spill. A washable, non-slip mat makes more sense, to me. Some sensible, easy clean chairs with some seat padding would be a good idea since there are some jobs they will be doing where they will need to sit. But, I wouldn't go putting an armchair out there, unless it's a disreputable-type discard from the house. :)
JudithB While you are planning the lights, I would add some sensor lites to the outside. They can show when something is prowling around the barn, and often scare critters away! I would also add a coat rack in the milking parlor! I would add more loft space, since there is always so much to store on a homestead!! LOL
The workshop is looking good. I would like to see the tool upgrade and door secrets. Your pigs are getting bigger every time I see them. I like watching you build things and take care of your family and animals more than watching you stack firewood. You've come a long way in a relative short time.
Al I agree with the need for a new chop saw. I sure hope you got a larger one that slides so you can make cuts on larger boards without having to flip! When we bought our new house which is a huge fixer upper, the day after closing we drove 2 hours one way to get a new chop saw with a folded stand with extendable arms. Not a mistake! Hope you got the folding stand! That will make life sooooooooo much easier! I always tell my husband to get the tools he feels a need to get. You never regret having a tool! It has bailed us out more than once! And now he is applying that philosophy to my kitchen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. It's a win win!
Are you being watched? 12:45 It's like the owl of the loft! Are you going to run water lines to the barn? To make soap, you'll need lots of water. Blessings to all.
Hey Lumnah's, if you film it, we will watch 😀 love all your projects so can't wait to see what you do with the door. The barn is going to look so good with the contrasting timbers. Hope is such a beautiful, friendly, curious goat and definitely my favourite as well, but I can't believe the change in all of them since the move, and especially since they got the big pasture. You definitely got some happy goats there Al 👍😊😁😀
it's all looking good i hope when set up the shop tools you get the table saw off the ground! that is one thing all new shop do find the best way to use their tools in the space they have .
When I was in the Navy we used to paint concrete floors to protect the concrete it would also seal it. You can also repaint it to cover bad stains or use a grinder to strip the area and repaint that spot.
the Liquid Iron we used to age the post & beams amzn.to/2M9EKGa
It looks really good. Good job team!
late in watching today wow barn looks so good love the colour 😊
I said 12 eggs wrong again one day I will get it right 😄😄 love how the goats come to you all when you enter the pasture they are just the cutest 😊

Excellent comment, says it all, thanks Leilani!🙂
We set a record high of 98° yesterday in the Memphis area.
I'd love to see you customise the cheaper door.
The door
Hi yes would like to see door paint trick & tool set-up.
Love how the goats are feeling more comfortable in pasture. Willow leads the way though, lol... queen bee if the herd that for sure. So cute to see them romping towards you guys when you go get the eggs .
Thanks for sharing with everyone.
Heat retained by black plastic dashboard so close to glass at bottom
I paint signs and sometimes ill make a wash with coffee grinds vinegar water and rusty items. Sos pads.. Nails etc. It is a beautiful stain. Your barn is coming along beautiffuly
Same, it works great.
Steel wool and vinegar in a jar will make a good rusty color, not very reddish tho.
Love it when Pluto and Tanner rush ahead of you to the chicken and goat pasture. They look so so happy being there with all that space.
Of course we want to see you build!! Bring the door on! Geez, your summer is here and gone in a flash. No time it seems like. Love the stain!
It does seem that way.
All the animals together in the pasture is just great!
Yes please!! Lets see a video on the front door makeover! I love your videos Al. They are so inspiring. I am so happy for your family now that Gina is able to stay home with you as well. Keep up the great work.

Or residual heat from the engine warning the bottom portion of windshield
Hey Al,
the barn is getting nice.
And it's awesome to see the free ranging goats being obviously happy like never before.
Dear Lumnah family and friends I really enjoyed watching the barn grow today and it was so delightful to see most of the animals currently at Lumnah Acres get together and know each other. Getting that puppy for Pluto was was best thing for her.
Nancy, That was a great way to say it!
We want to see all the things you do on the homestead. I look forward to your videos every day, and even the bonus videos are a fantastic way to put a smile on my face.
"We needed it" said every husband everywhere when he gets a new tool. :)
It will save us money...
Guy's the wife's had caught in to our secret of obtaining new tools:(
I use that excuse when I want to buy a new gun.
So do wives when they need new tools! Next on my list is the workstand that Al is using. Al, who makes that?
Can't wait to see the results. Of course we want to see what you do with the door.
Barn is looking super. Love watching the goats race around in the pasture....Hope is still loving her attention...sweet girl. Can't wait to see how you customize the door.....thanks for sharing your farm and family with us.

Good afternoon everyone. It’s marvellous what you’ve achieved. I hope you enjoy many many happy years with it. 😊💞
Good morning Al. Love seeing your goats out in the pasture how they come to you espically Hope. Like to see that door product.
Good mauhnin Al! Yes on the door please! Love watching the goats come running over to you when you enter the pasture! Never realized goats were such social creatures! Barn looks great, can’t wait to see it completed. Take care folks, till next time!👋
Out of all of the comments there is not one negative statement, and there are no thumbs down. Awesome! Your family is certainly a great team.
☮ Negativity is definitely contagious. It can do so much harm.
Nice that you bought a new tool for Gina to master...
Have a great weekend!!!
A couple days ago you were talking about cutting off the loft ladder and hinging it with a pulley to lift it when it wasn’t needed. Ooooo! The post'n'beams look so nice!!!! I really like them... You're giving me ideas!!!
Thank you for taking us along on your journey and God bless.
That door to the milking room is so nice, everytime you open it i catch myself smiling,
Your transition in confidence over this journey is contagious. Thanks again for sharing.

Regarding the paint the door project, I would like to see you film it.
Hello Moose! I have really missed you this past week. I haven't been able to watch you on u-tube. I missed everyone at Lumnah Acres! Moose is the man!

Yes please do all videos and I like to watch in the morning before I go to bed because I work 3 shift.
I, like a lot more of your subscribers love seeing more of Gina in the videos. You all work great together. I hope you all are enjoying making videos together. Personally I am enjoying watching Olivia grow up. She is such a sweet and beautiful child.
Hope is so sweet and pretty

The barn just keeps looking better and better!

It’s spring in Australia and I always look forward to your videos and seeing hope grow she is looking so cute
Sir, we also love building and creating stuff. You’re just better at it than most of us :) please keep up the builder videos. Thanks.
The family does such great work. Thanks for sharing. You keep me inspired.
You're funny. "We needed it" was always my go to to get a new sewing machine...how many is too many...is 4 enough? Lol. Love you guys. Be safe. Bless you all.

Very interesting people we are. We constantly are making the old look new and the new look old. That iron stain really looks good.
we want to see Everything!!
I love the way it turned out, it looks beautiful. You and Gina did a great job.
Al ..love your videos..don't miss any of them.would love to see you paint the door...thanks for sharing!
I look forward to your videos every day. Living vicariously I guess. 😄 God Bless your family! 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Hello, my husband and I really enjoy your videos. We live in VT about 45 minutes from you. We were trying to figure out what breed of dog Pluto is. Your videos with my ☕️get me motivated ❤️. Thank you Lumna Acres ❤️
We would love to see the door project. My wife and I watch your stream every day. The Wednesday bonus videos are a a treat. Rest up on Sundays.
I would also enjoy watching how you finish the new front door too!
Im not to proud to admit you've changed my mind. The stained look does look better. WOW!!!! Great job guys!
I'm glad you decided on the stain. It looks good. Yes I'd like to see videos on the door and the saw unboxing.
Looking good with the staining. Once the panelling is done, a nice carpet, two or three comfy chairs and some mood lighting it'll be ideal....
Lol!
Ready for Sunday Night Football !!
@@melissajarvis4829 Wow, what a serious sense of humour fail. Let's hope its not terminal.

Al and Gina, you are doing a great job. The beams are beautiful! Good morning!
Please show how you do the door finish
We are still 93* but change is coming 🙏🙏oh trees are so beautiful with the change of Colors
love to see the door enjoy watching you and Gina build you both work so well together 😊
Your workshop beams stained with the iron stain looks great! Hope you guy’s can enjoy it! Love your channel!
Yes, really want to see the front door project. You give me cool ideas!
The workshop is looking good. I would like to see the tool upgrade and door secrets. Your pigs are getting bigger every time I see them. I like watching you build things and take care of your family and animals more than watching you stack firewood. You've come a long way in a relative short time.
so cute watching your herd in pasture
Al I agree with the need for a new chop saw. I sure hope you got a larger one that slides so you can make cuts on larger boards without having to flip! When we bought our new house which is a huge fixer upper, the day after closing we drove 2 hours one way to get a new chop saw with a folded stand with extendable arms. Not a mistake! @Bear River Mama: He's disappointed, still has to flip wide boards, and mislead him about cutting 6X6 stock.
I love watching all of your projects
I'm so jealous of your cold weather! Where I live in Kentucky it's still in the 90's and 100's 😭
Yes I like it too !! You both work so well together .
it's all looking good i hope when set up the shop tools you get the table saw off the ground! that is one thing all new shop do find the best way to use their tools in the space they have .
When I was in the Navy we used to paint concrete floors to protect the concrete it would also seal it. You can also repaint it to cover bad stains or use a grinder to strip the area and repaint that spot.
Barn looks amazing. Your farm has beautiful energy and reflects your decision to change your outlook. ✌
