You can drill that old pin out, use a hardened drill bit, grind the brass busing out with a demeil tool , put small amount of grease on new pin and bushing .

My 70 has quite a bit of play in it like that too. I didn’t know you had to press the pins out and push them back in like that, as I’ve never seen the procedure done before. Eventually I’ll have someone help me shim mine up with new bushings too. 🙂
Good luck! The temptation is to hit the pin with a hammer to drive it out which will break off the ear. Pressing is the way to go. And, for some reason, Deere engineers put a lot of press on that pin! Thanks for watching.
@@keepcalmandfarmon5401 That’s probably what I would have done, started smacking that baby with a hammer, and then I’d probably have busted the ear off. Then I’d be in a heap of a mess. I’m glad I watched your video before I ever tried it. There’s a tool that someone designed that specifically pushes the pins out, and pushes them in. It’s sold on eBay. I may try it. Thanks again. 😁

I usually always heat them red hot with a torch and a small tap with a hammer and they pop right out
use a pickle fork like I did...simple no damage
I never thought of using a pickle fork…thanks for the tip!
