      @Lion Ritchie - 100% true.
And that goes way beyond any respect or promise, or something given during marriage vows. It is much more deeper than that, as you know you going to stay with that other person no matter what. Marriage or not.
Much respect to Michael and his wife, and family. Truly a beautiful couple, and human beings.

I've loved him from the beginning and the way he's handled this terrible diagnosis has only made me love him more. He's said, more than once, that the research he works so hard to sponsor probably won't bear fruit in time to help him, but it may help those who come after him. It makes me cry inside, but it also increases my respect for him tenfold.

      Michael J. Fox,
A warrior in his own right,
      Enduring every tremor and shake,
With grit and determination in sight.
Parkinson's may have slowed him down,
But it never broke his spirit,
He continues to inspire and astound,
With his unwavering will to live it.
We honor his struggle and pain,
And stand by his side in solidarity,
With empathy and compassion, we gain,
A deeper understanding of his reality.

As another person who became disabled in adulthood, I’m grateful that Michael feels he can share this with everyone. I’m going to try to get my family to watch it because they act like my personhood, intelligence, right to independence - all my abilities - were at least as impaired as my body. Maybe if they see someone they grew up watching who later became increasingly disabled still be himself, humour, intelligence and personality intact despite the trauma of losing so much physically, they’ll be able to see that I’m still who I was.

One of my favorite memories was sharing Back to the future with my kids. My son went out and bought the entire Back To The Future collection and original action figures. We still have BTTF marathons every of year! It is not surprising to see Michael battling his disease with the courage, strength, and optimism as he has shown. And, all the while STILL making us laugh! This world has certainly been a better place with Michael J Fox in it! I look forward to seeing this new movie. What is so inspiring about this man is that he is facing his illness head on, without any anger or hiding. I have so much respect for this man, he IS a legendary actor, and a even more legendary man. I myself am going through some tests, tests that may show that I could possibly have cancer. This after I was diagnosed with emphysema and heart disease. I've been sitting in fear waiting for the biopsy results from the ten ➕ polyps they found during my test. My lab work was off as well. I look at this man, who is battling an illness that has taken away a lot of his functions, yet he remains positive, he fights, and continues to battle everyday! He is truly a role model for so many people. I was born in 1967, so I grew up watching him on Family Ties, which I loved! Alex P. Keaton was such a iconic character and he portrayed him perfectly. Then of course came his Box Office Smash, Back to the Future I, II, & III. Marty McFly along with Doctor Emmitt Brown, his Mom Lorraine Baines McFly, his Dad, Marty Sr. in one full movie and a while a different actor took over the role in Back to the Future part II, he was still a integral part of the franchise. As was the "Bad Guy" Thomas F. Wilson as Biff Tannen. These three movies were just about the best all-time comedic films made. Although the whole Mom having a crush on you? Yessh! It was still one of the best movies I've ever seen. Only a few, Star Wars, and a couple of others are above them. I've started collecting the NECA Action Figures that they've made from those movies. I still need the Marty McFly figure from Back to the Future part II. Micheal J. Fox has made an impact in so many people's lives. He's entertained more people, created more laughter and joy, than 99% of the people in this world. He's ALWAYS been extremely polite, he never let any egomaniacal issues ever happen. Stories that I've heard shows Micheal J. Fox as a selfless person, always willing to help, or give some time to a fan. Tracy Pollard his wonderful wife was always right there as well. Such amazing people in an industry where some of the top people allow their egos to rule their lives. Many live hidden in gated communities, armed guards patrolling constantly, and in some cases I do understand that. The difference between those people and Micheal J. Fox is he has never "hid", and he loves the devotion of his fans. He is truly ONE OF A KIND! I HOPE AND PRAY THAT HE CAN HELP OTHERS WITH HIS ILLNESS, AND HOPEFULLY THEY CAN MAKE SOME PROGRESS IN NOT JUST MANAGING THIS ILLNESS, BUT POSSIBLY CURING IT ONE DAY SOON! God Bless him, his family, and everyone and anyone who has to live with a illness, and to their families for strength and support. Also the rest of the people who knew someone who had or has a friend who's sick. Take care of each other, and God Bless us all.

What happened when he found out about his diagnosed. Also how MJF is dealing with it today. He has been one of my most favourite movie stars, even before his classic movie BTTF. Thank you for telling your story. I'll be honest with everyone it took me about one day to gain enough strength to watch this movie. It's a very moving, funny, sad adaptation of his life. He tells the audience about his struggles, the ups and downs of his life. MJF you will always get a standing ovation from all of us for what you do. We all stand beside you always & forever. MJF always has a funny punch line no mater what is going on... Thank you.

My mom has had Parkinsons since i was 11, and its really a horrible thing to witness. Seing a person you love slowly being taken from you is hard to cope with, but the only thing we can do is try accept it and enjoy the time we have. For my mother, its sadly reaching the later stages, she cannot do much by herself and the dementia is getting quite bad. Most people i meet still think about Parkinsons as just being tremors, but i hope more brave people like Micheal J. Fox can help spread the word, and i thank him for his efforts.

Yeah, it was extremely unfortunate and sad news, and in a similar but I suppose more extreme way I'm reminded of Tim Curry, poor fellow and the stroke that disabled him. Saw him talking to fans in a livestream of sorts who all showered him with love and praise, yet he seemed to still look quite sad and defeated. Allegedly he was offered the part of the wheelchair man in Silence of the Lambs but passed up the offer so it instead went to... I can't remember his name but I think he's the guy who plays Commissioner Gordon in the Christopher Nolan Batman series. Pretty sure he also played Dracula in that '90s black-and-white film, I think starring Keanu Reeves? Gary Oldman! Yeah he got the role of the guy in a wheelchair with no face. "Seemed like a good idea at the time."
I think it'd be nice to hear Tim Curry's story too... however it kinda seems like his disability broke him more than Parkinsons had for Micheal J. Fox. Very sad, but it uplifts me to hear that Fox is still active and even working on a new movie! Power to him! And I hope Curry finds strength.

Love him!!! So sad that he got that dreadful condition at such a young age. So blessed to have Tracy - pure love! Loved him in "Family Ties" - I watched that show every evening it was on. I'm happy to see him again.

I'm 40 and I still want to be him! He's such an amazing human and as someone in the comments section here pointed out, you never hear anything bad about him. Tell me who else can say that in Hollywood there isn't many. And he grew up close to where I live, I drive by the Michael J. Fox theatre quite often.

As a 90's kid, Michael J. Fox was a part of my childhood. I would copy his lines, "Nobody calls me-" in elementary school! My dad played in a band, and one night he let me pick the Mandolin after one of his shows, anyway I got on stage and started acting like Marty McFly! I was sliding on my back, pretending I was playing, my dad said, "Get off that stage boy!!" Good times, and I wish the best for Michael. 🙏

The only thing great about him having Parkinson's is the light he has shone on the disease and the money for research that light has brought. Bad things happen to good people but he's so damned good that he isn't letting it be all bad. I love this man so much!♥️ Always have, always will!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❣️

My father had Parkinson's disease and we did not know it for a long time. He did not have the tremors yet but he said his hand was bothering him. He was in his 70's so we thought it was arthritis. We took him to his doctor and he did an xray and said it was probably arthritis. When my mother was sick his tremor showed up. It is a horrible disease. Michael being so young when he was diagnosed blew everyone away. Him and his wife have handled with such grace. Hats off to you Michael!!
