Paul, the problem with your videos is the fact that I’ve been watching you more often than not and spending less time painting. 😄 Seriously, they’re done so well and I like the way you work a bit of humor into them. Keep them coming. I love them all and I’ve picked up a few tips along the way. 👏
Awesome, thank you Tony!
It's had the opposite effect on me, encouraging me to do more watercolour painting. I'm beginning to think I like it better than the oil painting I've been doing in the last few years. I'm certainly enjoying the freedom of finally being able to "loosen up", which I just can't seem to do in oils.
Yess, I do the same :) Wonderful to look at this amazing work. Thank you very much, Paul !!!
Wow! Your work is brilliant. So gorgeous ...
Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely wonderful ❤
Thank you so much!
Hi Paul! I am actually a fabric artist, not a watercolorist and I have been considering a piece of silk organza that I want to try something different with. This video has totally inspired me to try line and wash on the organza. We shall see how it works. Your excellent videos have an impact far beyond the obvious. Thank you from Denver, Colorado…
Sounds great Carole - delighted to help!
J’adore ❤ je l’ai fait tellement plaisant
Merci!
Thank you Master 🇨🇱👌
My pleasure!
Thank You, Paul! I like the first one but I loved the second one! ( By the way, dare I mention that your t-shirt says " proiry" and not "priory"?😉and, I am just catching up, we have been away for a month.)
Paul, love your work and I am learning so much from you. Question: Typically how long would you say it should take to paint something like this. As I follow along on your tutorials I find myself going fast because the video goes so fast. Even when I pause and rewind I am still painting fast. I only just realized I can take my time but how much time is reasonable? Thank you again.
Hi Irene - it should say at the end of each video, how long - 1st one - 3hours , second one 1 hour. hope that helps!
Helps tremendously, sorry I missed that in the video. Thanks so much!
I paint fast too because of watching the speeded up video. I don’t think it’s bad to paint fast. I just let the Holy Spirit move my hand. Plus I am impatient to wait for paint to dry. Lol. 🤣
Irene, Did you know you can slow the video down or even speed it up?
@@carolrost9245 I do keep forgetting that!
Is there any way to slow down the speed on your tutorials so that I could follow along? Just discovered your channel today and bought your book as well!
Hi Carol - Yes, just click the 'cog icon' below the video and you can slow down the video speed.
How would you describe your style in watercolour painting? Thank you 😊
oh, good one, loose but with the suggestion of detail (not a very snappy term!)
You must have an enormous number of t-shirts Paul!!!😂
Yup - getting bigger by the week!
Thanks for putting these online for free. Faith in humanity! Some of us really need art right now and can’t always swing classes.
Happy to help!
Absolutely fabulous Paul! I love how your paintings always stand out at the end, such a good lesson in watercolour build up of colour! Thank you, going to definitely have a go!! You're inspiring 😊
Thanks for the two tutorials. Very informative. I noticed the new spelling of priory on your T-shirt. LOL
😁 I could never spell!
Simply, one word: wonderful!. Nicky... Belgium.
Thanks Nicky from Belgium!
As usual, another gorgeous painting from a great teacher. Thank you.
My pleasure 😊
Thank you for the "two for one"! Beautiful studies and so helpful!! I love the texture the salt created in the first painting! Random, but brings out the stone! As always, thank you for your time, talent and teaching! So many things your experience, on the smallest of details, teach so much!! :0)
You are so welcome!
Magic thank you
Cheers Geoff!
I'm amazed at the texture you produced for the stones - I'm going to give this one a try. Thanks for an inspiring tutorial.
he has a seperate video on stones and walls. you might want to check out.
My pleasure 😊
Watching you paint is mesmerizing!! Very calming and love the music!!! Thank you for continuing to provide these videos and your wonderful talent!!!
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks Paul. Really enjoyed these tutorials and also, I love seeing the beautiful surroundings in your vlog. Music was a perfect accompaniment.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi paul love both paintings they come alive before your eyes .
Cheers John!
I love how the subtle suggestion of detail brings the paintings to life. Another fine tutorial Mr. Clark. Worth waiting for. I also like the day lilies, I have some growing in my own garden.
Many thanks Nancy!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your skills. You are a wonderful teacher, and I appreciate these videos immensely
My pleasure!
I am so happy to see another tutorial and can't wait to "give it a go". Thank you so much for... For just everything! ❤️
Hope you enjoy it!
Wow you gave us 2 tutorials this week...and they were extremely informative and enjoyable to watch
Your videos are always so bright and cheerful, and you make them sooooo easy to follow...Plus the little comedic clips of yourself that are included, along with phots and details of your days out...what a lot of work and thought you put into your videos, and they are always fun and totally enjoyable.
THANK YOU PAUL !!!!!
You are so welcome! - and THANK YOU for watching!
Loving the deliberate spelling mistake on the T-shirt.."Proiry?"
Well spotted!
Blimey, these are both right up my street, terrific as ever.... Itching to get on with them... I'll update!
Great to hear!
How much I enjoy your demos is beyond comment. Please continue as you always do.
Thanks, will do John!
Thank you, you're a master and I love to watch your work.
That's nice - many thanks!

Thank you so much 😀
Thank you so much Paul for this awesome tutorial.. Fantastic as usual!!

Wonderful! Thanks so much! You must have quite a collection of unique T-shirts by now. 🙂
I do! - need a bigger wardrobe!
Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge with us.
Obrigado pela generosidade de dividir conhecimento conosco.
My pleasure
I wish I would do some justice to your today’s tutorial. They are beautiful. My frustration is I’m never able to copy your style as I lose track of your steps while painting . However my best paintings are produced after your tutorial s.
PS: thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial 🙏
Always happy to help!
Harika zevkle her videonuzu izliyorum. Gercekten mukemmelsiniz👏👏👏👏👏
Superb tutorial Paul. Liked both of them equally. Please keep them coming. Many thanks.
Thanks, will do!
How very inspirational!!! Many thanks Paul!! Much appreciated!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Still trying, sketching and practicing my colours,
Good to hear - you can never have enough practice!
I’ll give it to go for sure, thank you 🙏
Greetings from France 🇫🇷
Merci! Audrey - 🇫🇷
A pair of peaches, there - can't decide which one I admire the most.
Cheers Robert!
Tutorial inspirational as always, your on my bucket list to paint with , and a UK trip. Cheers from Mississippi 😊🎨
Be great to see you - many thanks!
Your work is just lovely, your tutorials generous. I love the harmony achieved with a limited palette and so much repetition with the baseline mixing. I am going to try both of these! And watch the shadow tutorial. Thanks Paul! 🇨🇦
Thank you so much Glenda!!
Thanks very much Paul for another great video tutorial, I love them.
Cheers David!!!!
Hi Paul, I love watching you paint! Thank you for your fantastic videos, I always learn some new tip from you. Cheerio from Ripon in Yorkshire and best wishes!
Thank you Paul. 2 great tutorials - certainly lucky this week - each with a different result.
Glad you like them!
So excited every week for your tutorials. For the door painting when did you remove the salt. Was it before you started the next layer
When that layer is dry, but if you time it right most of the salt will dissolve.
Hi Paul. I am practicing some of your painting like this with aged buildings. It’s the middle of winter and the heat is blasting inside - literally by the time I wet the paper the top is already dry giving hard edges. I am using a Saunders block but I’m wondering if I should use loose sheets so I can also dampen the back, or if I should use a spray bottle while working or….any ideas? I tried rewetting the sheet after I applied paint and instantly created mud…or maybe Waterford paper isn’t a good choice for me?
❤❤❤❤❤ thank you!!!🎉🎉🎉 very nice 👍👍👍
My English very bed, because l from Ukraine)
I look forward to Water colour Wednesdays! I love how you make something so complicated look so simple. I never would have thought the second one would only take an hour! Very keen to try the door one. I am working my way through your book, learning so much and having so much fun. Thank you for all you do!
You are so welcome!
Lovely paintings, and such fun to watch and try! Thank you, Paul!
My pleasure!
Beautiful tutorial espacially the first one and the music in that one is so sweet nice and relax thank you for that beautiful moment cheers to you to Paul 🥰❤
You’re welcome as very Manon! 😊

Grazie mille
Thank you again Paul. You and your paintings are so very special in so many ways! ☺️🦋
Thank you so much 😀
Marvellous painting
Cheers!
Wow!!!! Fantastic !!! ❤ Thank you Paul for these wonderful paintings ! 😀
Thank you so much 😀
I’m starting to suspect Paul has an entire room just for storing tutorial themed t-shirts...
You are right there!
@@ArtbyPaulClark knew it 😂
Oh my, I don’t know if I could have decided where to sit and paint and I’d go home with so many photos!
Inspirational and lovely paintings. Thank you! 😀
My pleasure Donna!
Splendid! Thankyou! XXX
My pleasure!
Another great tutorial. Oh two great tutorials. Both are beautiful and look like they would be fun to do. Will definitely have to give these a go...
Cheers Adele!
I love the way you paint stone. Both paintings were beautiful, the line and wash is always my favorite. Of course intermission was the best. Thanks for making those videos, 4 hours just in the painting part then all the video work and your intermission that was super funny. That's a lot of work, it's much appreciated.
Thank you! Cheers! - always appreciated Vicki!
I happened to come across your UA-cam tutorial.
I am very impressed with the excellent contents.
As I live in Japan I can not attend your art classes, I immediately bought your book and have been studying watercolour by watching your UA-cam.
Thank you very much for your wonderful tutorials.
Thank you very much! ... and glad you have joined us!
Two lovely tutorials, thanks Paul.
My pleasure!
Good morning Dear Paul, Wow 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 absolutely stunning painting ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Love so much 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Yes, nice to see you Paul.
Thank you for all you do, you are contributing to making the world a more beautiful place.
Thank you kindly
Great video as usual. Was lucky to join you on this day and it was brilliant! Only wish my painting looked half as good as yours! Would encourage anyone who is able to join Paul for a day or even attend his classes. Am learning loads.
Good to hear from you Diane - it sure was a good day out!
Two?!!! OK, getting to them a little later. Thanks so much. I know you are very, very busy.
Enjoy J!
Fantastic as usual Paul, beautiful paintings, and your humour just adds that little extra 😀
Thanks Pauline!
Thanks a lot, I'm just starting my advanture with watercolor and your tutorials are very helpful.

Nice, Thanks for sharing this beautiful video of yours 🥰 I really appreciate your work and effort 💕 Sending my full support to your channel ❤️ Stay blessed and I wish you all the best and success !!❤️❤️🙏🙏..
Thank you too!
I’d love to have a Spitfire flying overhead!! I’ve had P-51’s flying overhead. I also get UH-60 and AH-64’s! Love the noise!!
Cheers - Love those Mustangs!
I painted an old door a few months ago using some of your previous techniques but this reminded me if some more. I really wanted to practice loose line and wash so this will be perfect for me. I will be off work for 4 weeks so planning to do lots of paintings while I recuperate x
Cheers Rosie - best of luck with your recuperating! x
Always look forward to Wednesday watercolor!!! This one was awesome to watch two and the music the first had me so 😌 relaxed! I like how you added the pastel pencils ... making each one unique! Love the students sharing too! Til next time, a California Gramma ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it! - glad you liked the music too Ann!
Hello there Paul and Margot, 😃..... hope you are both well and as always great ‘toot’ ..... with the added info of the daily fly over from the ‘Grace Spitfire’!
I am guessing it is the ‘Grace Spitfire’ as it is based in Bentwater Suffolk and is flown by Carolyn Grace.
Sadly after Carolyn’s husband Nick Grace died, she took on the mantle in honour of her hubby. Carolyn has been flying the Grace Spitfire since 1990 in displays around the UK. Like you my hubby would love to be a passenger or fly it himself, but we couldn’t find the many many....many pennies needed. 😔 We have watched Carolyn’s displays a few times and some times enjoy our own free ‘fly overs’ 😉 from another Spitfire and a Lancaster Bomber. Here’s a thought Paul.... perhaps you could do a ‘toot’ of Spitfire flying over the English countryside! With best regards to you and yours 🌻🐝😊
Thanks for the info Cheryl - all interesting stuff and a Spitfire could be on the cards! - such a beautiful shape in my book!
Beautiful setting! Lovely paintings! Must be Wednesday with Paul. Thank you!
Thank you too!
Both paintings are fantastic Paul ! I am away on vacation in Nova Scotia and only brought a few basic supplies including a cheap watercolor sketch book so I will wait until my Arches paper and me are united again next week :) I am thankful as always for you and Margot. I have some lovely Nova Scotia pictures that I've taken that may be wonderful for the group to paint ?
Sounds great! - have a lovely vacation Patricia!
Wonderful! I so enjoy your videos. About to start the second painting. The first, priory door, came out so much better than I could ever imagine. Thanks to your lovely instructions. You give me so much confidence. Thank you so much! I have a question. Did you get a discount on your t-shirt? A slight misspell? 🤭
Made it myself but speling in’s t my stronge point ! 🤣
Hi Paul, send that teeshirt back and get a refund or one that say's PRIORY and not PROIRY! Seriously though, another great video lesson, and thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you!
I know! - outrageous ... perhaps it will become a collectors item!
Mr. Paul you're just simply the best! When are you coming to the US? Scottsdale AZ has lots to offer. I'll pick you up at the airport! I'll carry your bags! I can help you plan! :) Meantime, how about a desert landscape tutorial? I'd love to watch how you apply your magic on cacti. Thanks again for sharing your great knowledge and talent with us.
Hi Betty - Love to come to the States and I'm sure we will soon - perhaps 2023!
Doppiamente grazie Paul per queste due pietre preziose !
Grazie Gemma!
Calming, inspiring, motivating Paul! What a joy to watch you paint and learn so much. Thank you!
Thanks so much
Paul, love all your watercolor tutorials, BUT today I'd like to extend my sincerest condolences to you and Margot on the passing of Queen Elizabeth. She will be missed!
Thanks so much Paula - yes, a very sad day.
When will you resume your weekly tutorials?🙂
Not sure (super busy at the moment) perhaps in a few weeks!
@@ArtbyPaulClark Thanks. The sooner the better.
What is the pen you're using? I'm fascinated with the sketches and style of painting rock buildings. Thank you!
Hi there - if you watch the video at the start I list the pen I use.
I love their tireless diligence and have already learned so much. Thank you and keep your great sense of humor. 🌹😉👍
Thank you kindly
I love your videos! On the Facebook feed, artists post amazing pictures as well and refer to layering. Is this something you can address? I'm new to watercolor and when I do a few layers, the paper starts to get fuzzy, and/or muddy?
No problem ... noted!
Double feature - love it! Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge. Always enjoy your videos. I learn something every time.
Awesome, thank you!
This is Rita ... Greg and I share ... Is there any reason why you can't keep the beautiful finished painting on the screen when filming your painting? I find it easy to follow by comparing the finished while painting . Oh, and I so love both paintings this week. The first looks like marble, because of the salt (in my humble opinion). The second, I simply love the line and wash. Paul. thank you for sharing your gift of art!!!
Thanks Rita - I try to keep the finished painting up as much as possible but sometimes it gets in the way of what I'm doing!
Both are wonderful..amazing how an ordinary scene can become a lovely painting…I prefer the ink first as applying it after often turns into outlining,at least that’s what I find myself doing
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you very much for another wonderful tutorials. It's really enjoyed and love the way you have done those two pictures in to wonderful paintings. Love the thing of playing with colours. ❤️
Thanks so much 😊
Hi! I really like this video of you painting an old priory....in the video at the 28th second there is a beautiful house that you made in 2019, I can't find this video, I would like to watch it because I really like it and I would paint it too. ... welcome to limpingen
Hi Csaba - the painting you mentioned is the other side of the Priory in this video. Unfortunately I don't have a video of this painting.
Today was double pleasure to see you working Paul!
Thanks so much!
Just beautiful - love the character of the lovely buildings..... and as always, your paintings are stunning! I'm having a go at both of them although the old door stole my heart. Thank you Paul, your tutorials are just awesome.
Thanks so much as ever 😊
Great paintings! Love them both. Is your shirt the British spelling for priory? JK😆
I think so! Lol!
