"The London System isn't dangerous, itself. It is what you do with it that matters." -agadmator 2019
I can say the same about every chess opening - Me :)
and I disagree with that, every time when I face London against my Dutch I have difficulties to play against that, and I know that by theory: "black is equal"
It's not about who you are underneath. It's what you do that defines you. That's it. Agadmator is Batman.
@@sharadms LMAOOO nice one
The London system doesn't kill people. Magnus kills people!
The way that Magnus punishes small inaccuracies in such fast paced games is absolutely incredible. Not looking too hot for the candidate's winner this year.
Carlsen is entering god mode again!
I'd really like to see him playing vs Ding right now.
Yeah. I also think that way. Ding can able to Tame Carlsen 😂
@Joshua Whitt Agad mentionned in a video (I think after Ding won the London tournament) that he won't attend to any tournament until the candidates. You can check this here: www.chess.com/news/view/ding-liren-wins-2019-grand-chess-tour
MVL beat Carlsen twice with the black pieces, 3 weeks ago at the Grand Chess Tour.
“It’s just amazing this moment where uhh... in.. uhhhhh... I forgot where the moment was”
-My boy agadmator (2020)
I want to know one thing. Is Magnus Carlsen from this planet? The way he beat Kramnik a world class player and the rest of the Super GMS so decisively is beyond belief.
I find myself saying that more & more frequently these days but I’m in my hard 70’s too.
"For those of you who are able to do it congratulations because every move wins here"
Most players: bishop better than a knight ,
Magnus: See me ride it😎😎
"Viswanathan Anand entered the chat"
Chess is so simple when played by Magnus.
It's true. He does not play for flash and tricks. He just knows how to simplify the game into his favor every time

“London system isn’t dangerous in itself, it’s what you do with it that matters”
Sounds like an inspirational quote
Really love your thoughtful and thorough analysis. I can’t even imagine how much time you devote to this endeavor. But, thank you so much. Brilliant!

The hello everyone was so powerful that the camrea got out of focus
"We have knight to....thats not a knight"😂😂
Thank you so much for posting this. I’m crushing with the London, but my full backs were when the position they’re queen to take the left side, which now I know to place the rook there to protect it, and not being able to bring my second bishop out because their bishop is already in place (bishop to f5). And now I know to be flexible with that bishop before bringing it all the way up. Great stuff thank you!
Kramnik didn’t retire from professional chess. He retired from the classical format
This is my favorite channel on UA-cam
I thoroughly enjoyed the amount of times you said "Captures" in this analysis
6:37 “you have to play something”
me , most of the time.,
I love this channel. So good.
agadmator is on fire
Judit Polgar once said that Magnus is extremely dangerous with his knights, so one thing that you have to do is swapping his knights. I am not surprised that he took a decision by entering endgame knight vs bishop and he simply outplayed Kramnik with his knight play in more or less equal position.
Kasparov and Fischer were bishops lovers, but Magnus is a dark knight master.
What a game by Magnus, the bishop knight trade was really impressive
I want to know one thing. Is Magnus Carlsen from this planet? The way he beat Kramnik a world class player and the rest of the Super GMS so decisively is beyond belief.
Eh.... He is okay or good. I mean Kramnik played horrible. Not denying that Magnus is the world champion of the world as of early 2021.
Smoother than Fisher at his best!
GM games by agadmator always feel like capture-ception lol
cant keep up with all these amazing videos
This would’ve been the perfect game to put Magnus‘s quote about playing like an old retired grandmaster.
Too bad someone didn't put it in the comments!
happy new year agadmator
True masterpiece
great vid agadmator ^_^ keep up the great work. btw is it just me, or at 8:08 sounds like he is making a typical superhero movie speech?
Agadmator keeps teaching chess ideas!
-Not allowing captures because of captures...I am expanding my vocabulary with this genius guy😂
Thanks for the clarification agadmator! I was about to say 'Wait. Isn't Kramnik retired?'
Magnus deserves all the plaudits he gets of course but for me the real story of this tournament is Kramnik. How good was he?! He had Naka on the ropes in blitz and even out of retirement, he manages a third place finish. Just amazing.
Outstanding developing I didn't have to hear all of it But I did while commenting
4:13 that's impressive because you'd think the best outposts for the knight should be c5 and e5, both controlled by the bishop, therefore white should have the worst minor piece. But together the Rd2 and Nd3 work great along with the pawn chain while the bishop has no target.
I really like the dynamic pairing system on this tournament. This way the strongest players are always playing against other strong players and we see a whole bunch of marquee matchups.
Kudos to Karmnik for getting so high in the tournament and have an opportunity to challenge Carlsen.
Haven't watched an agad-video in a while, and I must say your commentary has improved. Feels like you're digging just deep enough to make it interesting, instead of just going through the list of moves, while still keeping it quick and not going into too many details.
I think the london system suits Magnus' style perfectly. Very open, lots of attacking possibilities if you so wish.
Super game, London system very interesting opening .sir your analysis is very good, thanks for vedeo
Wow, rarely I find the move that actually Magnus played😂😂, but I did it!
I want more. Thanks.
Who else in here does read comments after the content ends while letting the ads run? Thanks for this very instructive London System content, Gad!
Magnus is just so so good. Incredible chess.
"London system isn't dangerous by itself, it's what you do with it that matters!" -agad.
It's like Alfred Nobel on dynamite
1:20 Nd2 is really on point
Can you post the first blitz game played this month between Nakamura and Carlsen? It apparently involved the Berlin defense.
This is really something Carlsen did from what seems nothing to attack the black king. His understanding of the London system is superb. Bravoooo Carlsen
Very enjoyable game.
“Because he doesn’t want the attack on the bishop to come with tempee”
I thought he said 10p
again agad!

#suggestion Alireza firouzja vs magnus(WBC),there were too many arguments after the game.
Treble winner for Carlsen let's go~~
He makes it look so easy 🤷🏻♂️
from magnus with love
The surname *Kramnik* sounds as the most lethal in chess history to me, even more than *Kasparov* , which sounds rather "powerful" instead, but as in an energy-related kinda meaning.
Now, if considering not only that last name but first name too, *Magnus Carlsen* sounds like "skillful". So, metaphorically, "Kramnik" would be a hitman, "Kasparov" a fighter and Magnus an armored warrior.
Note: I thought about this metaphor *before* Antonio published the video titled "The Perfect Warrior".
P.S.: "Ding Liren", if wrote *this* way, sounds like a ninja. lol
"Vassily Ivanchuk" sounds like an unbeatable force in my mind. Kinda like, "The person no one can ever beat"
@@shaminasfaq7203 after I saw the picture Agadmator put as Ivanchuk in this video I linked below, I cannot help to think of Ivanchuk as the "Joker" of chess and Kasparov as Batman. 😂
That is because of the chaos Ivanchuk manages to summon on the board, frustrating even the great strategist Batman. Uh, I mean, Kasparov. xD

Nice game.
Can we let the rook stay on the h file instead of castling? We had to bring it back there ultimately.
goddamn! that was such a beautiful attacking plan. these 3 minutes games are more fun than the classical!
nakamura vs carlsen #suggestion world blitz 2019
Agad perfectly explained london system: it is not dangerous in itself, it is what you do with it. I am opposite example: I know only opening by heart, but due to my poor rating (around 1800 in classic) I dont have an good idea what to do in the middle game, so london doesn't work good form me in classical time format because my luck of strategy. But I discovered its purpose in 3 min. blitz and especially in bullet vs my league alike opponents: I spit out the whole opening (around 10 moves) in 3 seconds and because the london is such solid opening and lower rated players doesn't know by heart how to play black vs london (me ether:), they spent 30 seconds for opening and regularly lost on time in bullet. Of course, if I come across to higher rated player, he just smash me with my cheep "vast knowledge".
v. v. Dude, London Bridge is actually a double-edged opening.. with white's slow manuevering setup but sharp attacks against black's countercenter play and solid challenges.. If the game reaches to endgame, black is slightly better but if white's setup is complete, assuming that black didn't put much resistance, white has a tremendous advantage.
Agadmator: Guess The Move
Me: Queen takes bishop, Rook takes Queen
Agadmator: Everything wins
Me: 😎😎😎
at 4:25 what happens if instead of gxh5, g5 is played? is Qg4 the best reply to this? and if so, what after f6?
Ding Liren has joined the room
You disappeared from my feed. Have to now use the email system to see your latest. :(
anyone know how i fix this?
Great video but being new to chess I needed to slow this down to .75 to take it in lol
At 4:55 if queen to H2, rook to H1 and then queen can attack the king in the h file supported by rook

Very well! Can you also present one of the alireza's matches in this tournament? He is hero in my country, not only as a cheese player, he is a brave peace activist! he recently quitted the Iranian flag in the tournament because the Iranian government does not allow its people playing against Israili in any sport. The government boycott tornoments when Israili are present.... Alireza decided to play under chess federation flag in this tournament! Very brave move and He will likely put in prison upon return to Iran! I wish him best luck!
He's living in France at the moment right? So glad to see a young man with that kind of courage playing chess. My heart goes out to the Iranian people while they suffer under that oppressive regime.
Tyson Stolarchuk thank you for the nice wishes! Yes, he lives in France but travels to Iran time to time. My nephew and some other kids gets training from him the times he visits Iran.
Just saw a bullet game of his vs Magnus, not sure if he won or lost at the end. He was winning the game but the time ran off and the judges were debating the winner!
@@saeedadeli Magnus ended up winning the game since Alireza flagged and Magnus could technically force mate
#suggestion Firouzja vs Carlsen.
SHOW THIS ONE PLEASE
@@Roxas_XIII Yes, this was unbelievable, this is the luckiest win in chess of all time. 👍👍
@@martinslovak9767 how is it lucky? Firouzja flagged. The game could have been a draw even without the time with best moves. It's not like alireza was robbed a win but he definitely didn't deserve to lose. Nevertheless he flagged and that's the end of the story.
@@gamessportsandmore3371 But, his pawn fall out and thhe grabbed it and then the time ran out. Still the arbiters are discussing about it, because Alireza said, that the time on his clock ran out quickly. What can be possible. 👍😉
@@martinslovak9767 how is any of that magnus's fault? Ali can't keep his hands from shaking is only his fault. Thank god he isn't a tennis player lol.
At 4:57, why does Magnus move the Queen there, instead of pulling back to h3, to prepare to move the rook over and continue the attack?
