  • Installed a Fumoto drain valve 106sx on 5th gen CRV 1.5L turbo.
    Tools:
    17mm Socket
    Torque Wrench
    Oil Drain Pan
    Screw Drivers
Drove for about a week with no issues since install. There is just enough clearance above and below the valve.
Because of oil dilution, I chose an oil change interval of 4,000 miles. The oil filter is changed at 8,000 miles. I do not use the Honda Maintenance Minder for this car's services.
Keep your oem drain plug in the glove box with a new crush washer.
    Thanks for watching!

Very nice. I'll have to get one of those for the new CR-V at first oil change.

You think the f106s style fumoto valve will fit? or will that red coloured bolt come in the way? I have the 2024 Honda crv 1.5 l. Thanks

This video covers crv model years 2017-2022 or 5th gen. Since you have the newer 6th gen crv, you should go on the fumoto website and check your vehicle. Thanks

After 10 months how is that rubber O ring doing at keeping the seal? I wanted to install the Fumoto “S” (with its thick fiber washer) but I need the swivel capability of the SX to avoid a bulge next to one side of my drain plug. That little tiny O ring doesn’t look like it provides much sealing area at all (compared to the larger Fumoto fiber washers that come with all their other models). Also, the small holes in the SX valve look like they’d require a long time to drain. How long does it take for your pan to empty?

I have made two oil changes since and have not had issues. The drain time is slower than before, but it does not bother me since the upside is a faster cleaner overall process. I am able to drain directly into an old 5 quart oil jug. No cleaning a dedicated drain pan or funnel afterward. I change every 4k miles for oil and 8k for oil filter. I was on the fence for a while but can say now that I should have gotten this set up sooner. Thanks.

@@TuneInTuneUp I agree that I’d much rather spend 15 minutes waiting than I would cleaning up all the mess that comes from not being able to drain right into a 5 qt jug. I’m ordering one for our Subaru and one for our Kia (both need the SX positioning capability). Glad to hear it hasn’t leaked. Thanks for the video - and the follow up!

@@TuneInTuneUp mine didn’t come with a blue washer and I ordered the rotating drain valve.

@junior17medval oh sorry my mistake I was thinking of my other vehicle. There should be a double o-ring.
