Hey, I'm an AMERICAN BORN CHINESE. I can speak pretty well, but I don't sound natural and don't understand how the fluent speakers have those sounds after they say a word....For example, they end a sentence with aaa

Thank you for your question! I have never heard a variation of the word 問 (man6), even for people with "lazy tongue" this word shouldn't sound different.
the 'aa' is one of the Cantonese final particles. In English we would modify the mood or meaning of a sentence by saying it in a different tone. But since Cantonese is a tonal language, where changing the tone may actually change a word's meaning, there is much less flexibility to do so. So we have the sentence final particles to help modifying the mood or sometimes even the meaning of a sentence. The 呀 (aa3) you mentioned, is used to soften the tone of the question so it doesn't sound as abrupt.
I noticed that "jau5" (to have) and "mou5" (to not have) are different words, but "hai6" (to be) and "m4 hai6" (to not be) are not. Could one say "m4 jau5" for (to not have), or is it just one of those quirky language things?
Good question! For most verbs, you can add "m4" in front to make it negative, but "jau5" (to have) is an exception. We cannot say "m4 jau5", just "mou5" for 'to not have'.

It sounds like you barely pronounce Ngo5 sometimes. Like in the sentence Ngo5 zau2 laa3, bai1 baa3 at 4:34 - Is this something that happens in the language do you just hint at the word?
sik1 is a high flat tone, it actually sounds like when you say "sick" English (without an aspirated K at the end); while the 6th tone is lower, a bit like the "sic" in "basic" (again, without the aspirated K at the end)

Importance of tones are slightly exaggerated, especially for beginners. Even if you don't speak perfect tones people can understand you.

Good catch, it's a very subtle sound, coming from the back of throat.
In this video, I cant hear the difference between sik6 and sik1.... They both sound the same to me.
i didnt hear sik6 in the video from memory but i think sik1 is meant to be a higher pitched inflection throughout?
