      @StriperScott f9r the life of me I can't understand why you try to break your rod soooo many times and refuse to listen to the advice of the crew. Maybe it's your 1st trip on a boat like this so I can't be to hard on you if that's the case. Your lucky to still have a rod . Hopefully this trips was added up to lesson learned

    We went out on Eastmans in Feb. of 2024, I wish I had my GoPro because the pollock fishing was crazy! Side note: id love to link up sometime and go fishing, you have commented on my videos in the past but with two young ones I stopped for a little bit, but hopefully I will be back at it ASAP.

    Great video. All out slaughter. When was this trip. Do they bite like this in January and February.

    • @StriperScott
      @StriperScott  Рік тому

      This was just a few days ago on 12/31. Pollock show up all year in the Gulf of Maine, however, the larger ones appear later in the year. By October they are in full spawn mode. While spawning they are everywhere, but won't eat. Once they have spawned, they are RAVENOUS and hit everything and anything. People were catching them with hooks that had no bait on them. The bite will turn off over night. No one knows when that will be. Usually it's the first week in January, but it's never been this intense in the 10 years I've been going. Thanks for watching.

      Stamford CT!? Ha, My dad used to run a Chinese restaurant on High Ridge Road off Merritt Parkway back in the 80s, I would drive up from Queens to work there on weekends and summers. Stamford really boomed when many financial institutions move there in 2000s, and thus the horrible traffic jams on I-95. Joe. @@StriperScott
