If all commercial fishing was done this way, the oceans would be brimming with fish...No habitat destruction, very limited by-catch,no over quota,ect....Kudos ! Would enjoy getting out and doing some pin-hooking with you folks....Be good !
I saw this video when it first came out and it never gets old. They fish out of my home port. Can't wait for the season to kick off soon. They have a great brick and mortar spot on Route 1 about a mile into Kittery once you cross over Badger's Island from Portsmouth. Food service and a great fish counter!
@@josefuentes2329 A little bit of everything ! Even Halibut ! It was a good trip ! I live in Florida now . But if I ever get the chance to go again ? I will ! Good luck !
Funny they haven't made it law like they have here in Florida that all boats and off shore fishermen carry a venting tool or descending device for releasing fish ?! Most fish reeled up from 150 + feet of water wont survive just being thrown back ! I'm sure they'll get around to it at some point ?!
This is fishing just like what they do in Iceland: jig it up, over the rail, bleed...nearly everything minus the saltwater ice slurry. Makes for a superior quality filler compared to a dragger-caught fish.
I absolutely love this show I would love to come fishing with you it would be the highlight of my life I’m all Montauk fisherman coxes ledge when it was alive the best codfish in the world until the net is killed it took away to shellfish took away to codfish by the way they were well card average 40 pounds monsters just a memory now
hello i am from maine and i would love to go fishing with you sometime its my dream to catch a haddock i am a cancer surviver i am 65 years old thank you god bless
If you value this model, be sure to ask / challenge the restaurants you visit and eat seafood at. I detest dragger and netting methods of commercial fishing. Rod and reel is far more sustainable and fun!
You call them Pollack when the are actually Coalfish.I,v caught many of them over the past 50 years here in the UK.They get them up to 40lb in Norway.Pollack have a straight tail and a larger lower lip.c8.alamy.com/comp/BBCPN3/pollock-pollack-pollachius-pollachius-under-water-BBCPN3.jpg

I enjoyed the clip nice to know the fish is still there Hope you Have many Years of success
This is awesome, definitely will support them in the future
Great video. Very interesting to see the commercial perspective. And it's nice to see a sustainable commercial fishery.
Great show. Not many times do we see shows from the commercial perspective.
Absolutely great video!
Thanks Scott

Atlantic pollack is better than Alaskan pollack. My opinion and I’ve caught and eaten both!
those are coalfish not pollock, pollock are brown or golden colour , coalfish are black / coal coloured as the name goes
@@maritimeus no sir you are incorrect
Lol the state of the cod stock? It’s fantastic it’s the stupid regulations that are wrong.
There is a better way to bleed fish and take care of them
How far do you have to go out for Pollock
