I love the colours so much - the piece is like flowers and bushes and blue sky all at once: looking at it is energising. Thank you for the motivation to scale up.
No, but you could. I have worked with it enough that I know that once I lay it down, I can only brush over it once. That keeps the color in place pretty well.
This one isn’t about coloring the tissue, per se, but it definitely shows how I do it. Mixed Media Collage: Comparing Medical Exam Paper to Tissue ua-cam.com/video/yoVpKIOvobo/v-deo.html. What are you using to adhere papers to the substrate? Gloss media? Matt media? Or what? TY FOR THE TIME YOU TAKE TO share with us!
Golden Satin Glazing Liquid is my choice and I love it to also mix acrylic glazes.
And you’re welcome!! I love to do it.
Beautiful! Do you have to spray the watercolor tissue before adhering them to the paper so it doesn’t run?
No, but you could. I have worked with it enough that I know that once I lay it down, I can only brush over it once. That keeps the color in place pretty well.

Wizardry! 🌺
Haha, thanks Mara!
Hi Marabeth! This piece is beautiful. Which watercolor brand/set are you using here?
I believe it’s Talens brand watercolor. I have quite a few different sets of all different quality levels-this one is somewhere in the middle.
Is there a video to show how you paint on the tissuepaper?

Hello what do use to seal your art with when done?
I use a spray varnish to lock any water-soluble marks or paint in place, then I brush on Liquitex Satin Varnish when it’s dry.
