I think everyone has said the things I wanted to say. Pure inspiration. You do what most of us are too frightened to do with our artwork. Messing up is alien to me. But obviously playing safe is not an option. I watch several artists online but always look forward to your post on a Thursday the most and you are the most animated and interesting artist to watch. Unfortunately I didn't make it to your exhibition but I'm glad that it went well. Fran K.

Lady Gaynor, loving how you encourage us to grow in our painting by just jumping in fearlessly...giving life to backgarounds and adding texture to the foregrounds. Maybe there is an element of fear, not wanting to mess up a "precious" painting, but its so engaging to watch how you experiment with color, texture and ink drips to give it more depth and life. ❤ oh i really adore the faces, would like to see more.

I love your clothing style also & don't know how you keep from getting paint all over yourself!!!! Using a mat to see different areas helps I think. I need to repeat "Just keep going to myself".

Samahra, please send us some cool weather up here in eastern Ontario, Canada. It's been unbelievably hot for the past 3 days. Thank goodness for the thunderstorm we're having now which is cooling things off a bit. I agree - it's unanimous. Gaynor is inspiring! I love your enthusiasm, your energy, and - I couldn't agree more with you - the need to mess your work about sometimes! I find I often do that, especially when working on portraits or detailed work. I want to grab a crayon and scribble on it - sometimes I do... but sometimes I find that letting it all out on a sketchbook also helps (and then I have an abstract painting too!). If you have time, you could search for John Seed with Nick Wilton talking about Disrupted Realism. Maybe not your thing (because you're all about re-energizing your practice?) but a good talk nonetheless.

Excitement!! I really perked up when I heard you mention texture and textile, huge light bulb moment! massive! I just couldn't stop doing my textile art but wanted to try painting again... so much. Why not use both mediums on the same canvas/substrate? I have so much textured, dyed fabrics that just begs to be put somewhere different ... I'm going to do it!! Thanks Gaynor for the nudge, and I love what you are doing with ink. I just know I will be doing your splatter technique on my new work. Have a wonderful day.

loved the ink addition to the painting, and the colors are very lovely. Even after the rework reveal the next morning, the colors are very pleasant to see, very soothing...Keep at it! Bringing back the yellow green is very appropriate. Looks like a stained glass window with the ink lines!!!

Another lovely week. I haven’t commented for a while because i have been taken up with the return of my black ink drawings. I started the year with a new sketch book to aim for a picture per day. It started off fine but little by little my old style returned, abstract line drawi 0:06 ng.
Since mid April I have completed 30 new pictures. No colour. No rhyme or reason to them. They returned because I started watching your videos which are so encouraging.
I’ll post some more on Instagram soon.
Then I hope to return to my ‘slabs of colour’ very minimal they are. We shall see

Thanks so much 😊 I have an inability to part with clothes !!! I shop High Street stores....nothing fancy or expensive because I don't want to fret about getting painty. Occasionally, someone will point out that I have paint on my sleeve !!! X

Darling it not being lucky. It is your turn. Being married 50 years, he cooks and does his part, sometimes more than his share. And that is okay. I gave up years waiting to breathe freely. You are a happier partner. I am sure he is loving it! And I hope as he pushes the mower he says, “I am such a lucky person to share this adventure with Gaynor!”

I am pretty sure I was one who you thought should turn away as you dripped ink. If so.... I have been totally misunderstood because one of my favorite things to do is drip ink. Pushing paintings to there limit is my thing. I will definitely keep watching, but will not comment. I do not think you understood what I meant. I love watching. Have a blessed day.

where there's a light, put a dark to get places 4 the 👁 2 go. Googled "values in art" and how changes in hue bring intensity and contrast. Mini swatches help...in achieving color notes that give drama. Robert Joyner this week video.😊 Ann, Florida fan.
