I am still very surprised that you folks haven't started "SHOGUN". It is the show of the year. Game of thrones level qualtiy. Don't get me wrong, i love Yellowstone, but I am especially surprised Steven hasn't put this on the list yet. :)
Y'all are in for one hellova ride with this one. This was my favorite show when it came out. Hate the way it ends. That's all I'm going to say about that😂 Enjoy
I just started the show and texted my mom and said "That Beth Dutton is a firecracker!" and my mom responded back with "she's the whole damn 4th of July"....lol
It's a show about the conflict between maintaining a generational way of life vs. "progress", where those involved play a very rough game. Then, you sprinkle in a hearty dose of family drama. It's one hell of a ride.
@reaps8807 First of all, I enjoy the channel as much as everyone else here does, but that doesn't mean I have to commit myself to being involved in everything like discords, livestreams, Patreon etc. just not my thing, but good for you if you like doing that. Second, by surprised to see it, I mean I'm surprised to see a channel react to this show as very little react to this show. So even if I "had known for months" like you said, I would have still been surprised either way had I known then.
This show takes place in Yellowstone, Montana. The ranch is called The Yellowstone Dutton Ranch for the Dutton family. They named it that since it is technically near Yellowstone National Park but the ranch is not part of the park it is owned by the Dutton family. The ranch is roughly 776,000 acres making it the largest ranch in America. Everyone wants to take back the land from the Dutton's which is the premise of the show. It is the Dutton's fighting to keep their ranch that has been in their family since 1883. Tayor Sheridan also made 1883 which is a prequel to Yellowstone showing how the Dutton's ended up in Montana.
Welcome to the world of Yellowstone. Once you remember Beth's name you won't forget it, one of the best characters every written for a show and Kelly Reilly plays it to perfection. This show shows the love of horses and the beauty but it will still make Nikki cry.
think i read in real life the dudes related to hollywood royalty. i think its his great grandfather names Harry Warner one of the founder of Warner brothers
So just an FYI I believe they showed a bumper sticker on Kayce’s truck and that bumper sticker was a Navy SEAL Trident meaning Kayce was a SEAL. I’m just telling y’all because it’s not really a spoiler since they constantly elude to it this whole episode and series but I don’t think they ever outright state what Kayce did in the military but knowing what he did puts a lot of stuff into perspective they just don’t really tell you enough for you to know unless you know that trident emblem. Anyway great reaction as always and looking forward to the rest. Also please watch the 2 prequel Series as well, in my opinion they’re even better than the main series
@rundownthriftstore just because one no longer wears the uniform does not mean the training and experience are gone. So yes Marcus and his brother are still considered seals
@@ThePreparedSailor it’s less about him no longer wearing the uniform but rather him failing his brothers in a time of need by running away from the enemy, resulting in their death. Can cowards be SEALs?
While you can't stay in the Dutton home itself, the Chief Joseph Ranch does rent out two cabins on the property: the Ben Cook Cabin (Rip's cabin in Season 1 and Casey's cabin in Season 2) and the Fisherman's Cabin (Lee's cabin in Season 1 and Season 2). Each cabin sleeps 8 guests and has a full kitchen and a grill.
I watched these without ever watching any of Yellowstone. Watched 1923 first because of Harrison Ford, then watched 1883. Wish I'd watched them in reverse, even though they can be enjoyed either way. I loved 1883 so much. I'm going to show my age here, but the girl who played Elsa reminded me so much of the daughter of the actor who played Billy Jack (she was in the movie, too).
1883 is cinematic perfection. 1923 is really good, I have to watch it again before season 2 because I spent most of season 1 drooling over Spencer Dutton🥵
Born and raised in Missouri, and I'm basically Lee, 40, left everything behind I had going on and moved home to care for my 84 year old dad's 100 acres, that's not my 100 acres, and I really identified the whole series with John...my land is SURROUNDED on 3 sides with subdivisions, hundreds of homes since I was in high school on what was always empty farmland and woods. One the 4th side I adjoin a decades-long neighbor with 350 acres that they preserve for cattle grazing. I've been offered 7 figures, I'm sure they've been offered more, and we both refuse to sell, and together make the largest undeveloped block in miles of any direction, SO I'm buckled up for the coming future where they try to 'remove' me if they can't buy me. F them. This is MY land, I grew up here, I was born here, this is my paradise. And I know that no matter how much money I could get for it I'll NEVER have anything like it again, it'll be LOST. I've seen places just like mine a town over, and one day land I'd seen as pristine my whole life was just as I call it "scraped and raped", everything stripped down to the dirt and every hill leveled off, and drain pipes sticking up for HUNDREDS of houses, I cried. Something gorgeous, lost forever. Why can't they do that to useless, barren, rocky places?
Welcome to Yellowstone y'all. I was late to the Yellowstone party and started watching 2021. Fell in love with it. I'm with Nikki omgosh riding a horse is one of the most wonderful, freedom feeling I've ever experienced.
The Navy Cross is the second highest award for valor in combat, beneath only the Medal of Honor. It is awarded to Navy and Marine Corps personnel. The Army/Air Force equivalent is the Distinguished Service Cross. The Silver Star is awarded across all of the services and is the nation's third highest award for valor.
@@hk45c62 It's below both of these decorations, and may be awarded for reasons other than valor. He also did not mention the DFC as a medal he received, which is what I was explaining in my post.
Funny thing though. While he says it's a Silver Star the ribbon on that medal is the one for a Bronze Star. Bronze Stars the ribbon is mostly red with a blue stripe flanked by white on both sides in the center. Silver Stars are very noticeably blue to the outer edges (about 1/3 of the width) of the ribbon, white in the middle 1/2 split by a red stripe in the dead center.
@@fester2306 Oh, most definitely. They wrote the character's background and failed to do proper checks on what the awards he had looked like. AND what order they'd be displayed in. That shadow box is a mess.
One day when I was around 17, I went for a drive and found a lake out in the country (in Mx) and I decided to get out and take some pictures because the sun was setting and it was just a lovely day when, out of nowhere, on the other side of the water, I saw a group of wild horses running alongside the lake. The rays of sun shining down on their hair (fur?) made them look like they were going to take flight at any moment. It was really beautiful to watch. I didnt even take a video or picture because I was so amazed by it, I had never seen horses in person before. I hope you get to experience it one day soon too, Nikki! They really are majestic animals.
We have an ancestral home in the Springhill area just slightly NE of Bozeman. My dad was born and raised there from 1924 untill he left for the war in 43. Beautiful location below Ross's Peak and The Saddleback, trout stream running through the property, horses to ride and eggs to gather. My Uncle Tom was one of the largest egg producers in the tri state area. At the maximum of his operation, he had over 85,000 laying hens in four enormous chicken houses. Spent many summers there growing up. Can't tell you how many times I had fresh caught rainbow trout with fresh eggs and milk for breakfast. Man, that's livin'. Haven't been there in 50 years. It's still in the family and still beautiful.
I live in Yellowstone county about 3 miles away from the Yellowstone river. Born and raised here. 3rd generation. The show is what it is and I understand the draw. How could I not? And on top of that, Kevin Costner is among my favorite actors. Having said all that, I'm glad the show is ending. It's brought aspects to our state I would rather have not come and I hope maybe we get back a little of what we've lost in the last 5-10 years. Enjoy the show guys.
Oh you guys are in for a HELL of a ride. Beth Dutton is a force, just you wait as you figure out all her layers. She's one of the best written characters ever. I'm so sure you will enjoy this show! Especially Nikki is in for an emotional ride, haha!
You dont have to kill someone to get a Silver Star. I have a Silver Star, it was going above and beyond during conflict or combat action. Usually cited under, "gallantry," during an action against an enemy threat.
While technically true, it VERY often overlaps with active combat (and probably killing people in the process), and in that situation he was both simplifying the explanation for a civilian while also making a veiled threat against Casey. The vast majority of the awards for gallantry awarded in GWOT involved killing some dudes. It's like when the MOH is described as an award for having the worst day possible. That's not what the award is for, but it gets the point across without having to dig up unpleasant memories.
They didn't just start it. I think they are wrapping up Season 2 or beginning Season 3. The only thing they finally started was uploading to UA-cam. The reactions have been on Patreon for months now, or started a couple months ago.
I waited years before I watched this series. Once I did, I was hooked and binged like 2 or 3 seasons before I caught up. Yellowstone seems like a mix of Legends of the Fall meets The Godfather with Cowboys. Good show.
I didn't start watching the show until about end of April or May 2024 sometime. I finished the main show about a week after the Fourth Of July. Or at least caught up since the show isn't officially over.
The actor who plays RIP (Cole houser) has appeared in a lot of movies. Dazed and confused, good will hunting, yes 2 fast 2 furious, and i forget the movie but it was Brendan fraiser in a prep school, thats where he met damon.
Rule number 1 of Yellowstone: Dont piss off Beth Dutton unless you want your perfect world dismantled violently. Also Rip i remember from Pitch Black, he was Johns, who captured Riddick.
I’ve been waiting to see you guys watch this show so badly. It’s funny sitting here thinking “you have no idea”, to the stuff Nikki and Steve are saying about people in the show. 😅
SO GLAD to see you guys reacting to this show, it's amazing. I hope you also include 1883 and 1923 spinoffs. THIS is the show that got me to subscribe to patreon for the full reactions :)
I believe Kayce's wife, Monica, also starred in Sheridan's excellent 'Wind River'. Centered on tensions between Native peoples, corporate industrial complex, and the Gov't in Alaska. Gil Birmingham (the Tribal Chief) also starred. It feels like it takes place in the same universe. Sheridan's work is top notch.
@@grayden4138 such a great movie. Wasn’t based in Alaska tho it’s based in Wyoming. The Wind River Reservation(land of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho)is in Wyoming and thats where the movie gets its name from. Taylor Sheridan wrote the film to raise awareness about the high number of the high number of Indigenous women who are raped and murdered, both on and off reservations.
I am so here for this. I love the entire Sheridan/Dutton universe. I've been so stoked you guys were watching this that I purposely waited until a few episodes were available so I'd have a few to binge. And I knew Nikki was gonna have a rough time with the horse. They really smack you in the face with it right in the very beginning, which I think is just really smart writing. We learn SO MUCH about John Dutton in that moment, in his reaction to and handling of that horrible circumstance. And everything we learn stays consistent throughout the entirety of our time with him. Taylor Sheridan is something else entirely, man.
It’s abnormal how excited I got when seen this was happening! 🤣🤣They will both love it! Without exact spoilers you will like people then not like them and not like people then like them. One constant is Rip is the goat of of goats. Let’s go!
Buckle up kids, you're in for a real treat! This is probably the only show that I've gone and rewatched multiple times. The characters are just so perfectly unforgettable and we still haven't really been introduced to some of the best ones yet! One of the great things about this show is that it really shows you an entirely different culture and way of life that most people in the US don't even realize is still existing. Also, for some background/historical context, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch is the "largest ranch and private property in the US" and it's based on The King Ranch in Texas, which is the real life largest ranch and private property in the US. You might have seen a few Ford "King Ranch Edition" branded trucks rolling around.
The first two or three seasons were photographed both in Montana (most of the exteriors) and Utah (mostly near Park City, which is also where interiors were filmed on soundstages). By Season 4, however, filming of both exteriors and interiors moved entirely to Montana, with the addition of some scenes that were photographed in Texas (which is part of the storyline in Season 4).
OMG I'm SO SO excited to re-watch this show with you guys😍 Me and my girlfriend found out about and started watching this show 2 months ago and we got hooked. It's sooo good! You guys are gonna love it!
Guys ! Yellowstone is such a banger ! You are gonna LOVE IT ! You should look out for Yellowstone 1883 it's like the origins, only 10 episodes, it's beathtaking, you can watch both at the same time, because there are no spoilers for Yellowstone nowadays, but you will have insights on the originals Dutton. Very hype for your reactions ! Have a great show ! Much love from France !
Wow. That was a lot to absorb. Especially for a 1st episode. First of all, we are getting to be able to read Nikki a bit. When we saw the horse and heard Nikki say hello to it and then they showed us Costner bleeding. Didn't know yet, what had happened, but by the expression on her face I knew what was coming next. I hope this can continue to be about the family and their relationships, and doesn't become a more cowboy version of Dallas or one of those old primetime soaps. Lots of potential for great things here. Not as many people on this (so far) that I recognize, but I think y'all know them from things that I have never seen. I know I left a suggestion on a previous (I think it was the final Peaky Blinders ) video about Deadwood (if you haven't watched it already). A lot of people there you would recognize as well. Off the top of my head, at least 5 who were on Sons, and at least 1 from John Wick. Anyway, this was a fun start. Hope the series doesn't disappoint. I know you two won't! You and your stay safe and well.
nice timing. i spent 3 weeks in the hospital and caught the last 2 seasons (piece mill) when it was reruning on tv. Guess ill join yall on your journey.
Yes! Happy to come back and see you guys for this😊 Yellowstone is awesome, I love the spin on the cowboy and Indian theme here, it's the cowboys who don't want change and the Indians trying to build a casino! The spin off series (particularly 1824) are a must watch too
I want to say most people will know him as the villain in 2 Fast 2 Furious or from Pitch Black (he was the bounty hunter trying to bring in Vin Diesel (can't say Vin Diesel's character's name because UA-cam is dumb since it has a bad word in it)).
YES!!!!!! I literally just almost jumped off my bed with excitement! I had to walk my dogs before I had the chance to watch this and it's all I could think of! I loooooove this show! It's epic and I cannot wait to watch you guys react to this!! Very excited for this journey! ❤❤❤
This show just gets better and more insane as it goes on. Can't wait to take this journey with you both, so excited and a little anxious because it gets ROUGH... but incredible without a doubt.
These are complex characters. And they pack a ton of development into these early episodes. All those gravestones are the Duttons who died to pass that land down to John (Kevin Costner.) Now it is his turn to preserve that land and pass it on to his children. Now that Lee (Dave Annable) is dead, who does John select to trust to preserve the land for the next generation? Where is the next generation? Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley) are unmarried and childless. And Kayce (Luke Grimes) is estranged, married to an Indian girl and living on the Reservation. It's going to be tough family drama to be sure. BTW, that is why Lee's age kept coming up. He too was unmarried and childless at 38.
I love you guys and hope this comes across as a fact shared and not an opposing opinion. As someone who has been a Correctional Officer, Police Officer, & Federal Operative, there is not shooting to wound only to stop. To stop means to eliminate the threat, to stop them from continuing the attack or dangers to injury of death to yourself and others. Some people like the brother-in-law, was hit by a galloping horse at least 20 miles an hour and still got up to finish killing the older brother and Casey. Neither of them shot or even pointed a weapon at the brother in-law. The la calls that murderous intent. Love you guys, hope this helps understand the situation better and not stress you guys out.
Nikki.. giiiiiiirrrrrlll you’re about to fall in LOVE! with this show… it’s going to be a wild ride.. plus there are multiple spin offs and they’re great as well 🥳
You guys can totally come to Montana, it’s horribly beautiful. We had a lot of people move here which did take some land, but the parks are still SO beautiful. Glacier National is wonderful (book ahead of time)

Oh you guys are in for a HELL of a ride. Beth Dutton is a force, just you wait as you figure out all her layers. She's one of the best written characters ever. I'm so sure you will enjoy this show! Especially Nikki is in for an emotional ride, haha!
I truly adore how empathetic and sympathetic Nikki is. Such a soul. You too, big dog, but man, Nikki is great.
They're so awesome
Definitely would recommend the prequels of Yellowstone. “1883” and “1923” they are both amazing!
THE WAY I JUST JOLTED OUT OF MY FREAKING CHAIR AND GENUINELY SCREAMED!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!! WELCOME TO MY CURRENT FAVE SHOW!!!!! WELCOME OMG. ♥️♥️♥️
“if you know, you know.”
me immediately: was it the horse? lol
So glad you guys took on this show! Can't wait to get into the epis with you two!
Using your reactions to get back in to the show after such a long hiatus and I think you’re going to love it. It’s a great show.
I binge watched this series and loved Beth straight away. So many complex characters in this show.
YES YES YES!!! THANK YOU FOR WATCHING YELLOWSTONE! IT IS AN AMAZING SHOW!!!
So glad you guys had finally started this series! me and my wife have absolutely enjoyed it and can’t wait to see your reactions!
School Ties I believe is the movie you thinking of. Great flick 🎉
And the Cave also
Stars in his own movie paparazzi and is secret service buddy of king leonidas in olypmpus has fallen.
He played the bounty hunter in Pitch Black. Cheers
Rule number 1 of Yellowstone: Dont piss off Beth Dutton unless you want your perfect world dismantled violently.
Also Rip i remember from Pitch Black, he was Johns, who captured Riddick.
Welcome to the Yellowstone ...hope you can watch it ALL THE WAY thru...its a wild ride !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been waiting to see you guys watch this show so badly. It’s funny sitting here thinking “you have no idea”, to the stuff Nikki and Steve are saying about people in the show. 😅
So glad you guys are reviewing this such a greta show!!!! Its going to ve a rollercoster ride!
Yay! So happy you’re watching this series 😊
Most was filmed in Utah and some in Montana. After so many seasons, which I can't remember now, they film all in Montana.
I cannot wait for more, you are in for a treat, this show is so good, and you will root for some unexpected characters.
Such a great show, i didn't expect you guys to cover this.
I literally just binged this and 1923 and 1883 in like a week lol 😆 so good I couldn’t stop watching. I wish they would bring it back.
I can’t tell you how completely excited I am to see you guys go on this amazing ride! Yellowstone is phenomenal.
I knew the opening scene would be hard for Nikki. But this is just the start of an amazing series.
Yellowstone's so good!! cant wait for yall to see more.
Oh my gosh I’m so happy someone is finally reacting to this show
It’s abnormal how excited I got when seen this was happening!
Definitely check out the prequel shows, too. The scene with the finch with father and son leaned up against the tree is a beautiful nod to 1883.
You will love this series. Amazing characters, amazing actors
I am OBSESSED with this series.
Finally I been waiting a long time for y’all to watch this this is my fav show
In the last month, I watched 1923. I liked it so much, I then watched all of Yellowstone & then 1883. Great shows!!!
Please watch the prequels *1883*, *1923*. You'll understand why the ranch is so important to the family.
OMG I'm SO SO excited to re-watch this show with you guys😍
Me and my girlfriend found out about and started watching this show 2 months ago and we got hooked. It's sooo good! You guys are gonna love it!
OMG FINALLY. BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOREVER! Excited you guys get to get this amazing show experience.
You guys will LOVE Yellowstone. 👏🏿👏🏿
OMFGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M SO HAPPY. I JUST FINISHED S3 FEW DAYS AGO. GREAT SHOW.
How did I miss this notification??? Yay! Y'all are watching Yellowstone. Can't wait to watch with you both.
omg yes! Finally a big channel reacting to this absolute gem of a show! You guys are in for a treat! :)
So happy you are reacting to this.
Well, you convinced me to watch this show. I’ve been think about it, but watching this reaction has finally made me intrigued enough to do it.
I first remember seeing Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) in the two Guy Ritchie "Sherlock Holmes" films and then "Flight" with Denzel.
nice timing. i spent 3 weeks in the hospital and caught the last 2 seasons (piece mill) when it was reruning on tv. Guess ill join yall on your journey.
Yes!
Happy to come back and see you guys for this😊
Yellowstone is awesome, I love the spin on the cowboy and Indian theme here, it's the cowboys who don't want change and the Indians trying to build a casino!
The spin off series (particularly 1824) are a must watch too
Rip is Cole Houser. He was in Dazed and Confused.
I want to say most people will know him as the villain in 2 Fast 2 Furious or from Pitch Black (he was the bounty hunter trying to bring in Vin Diesel (can't say Vin Diesel's character's name because UA-cam is dumb since it has a bad word in it)).
So glad y'all are watching! Enjoy! Please watch 1883 once you're done with Yellowstone. It's only one season.
I'm so happy we're starting Yellowstone!!! LFG
YES!!!!!! I literally just almost jumped off my bed with excitement! I had to walk my dogs before I had the chance to watch this and it's all I could think of! I loooooove this show! It's epic and I cannot wait to watch you guys react to this!! Very excited for this journey! ❤❤❤
Anyone else wanna see Beth Dutton fight Gemma Teller?
Gemma would smoke her
Throw in aunt Polly from peaky blinders
I'd bet the ranch on beth
Dang! This was a surprise. You are in for one hell of a ride. Brace yourself 👍👍
The entire first season was written by Taylor Sheridan, creator of Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River.
Welcome to Yellowstone, you are going to love this show.
22:40. Cole Hauser is his name. He was also the red head jock that was friends with Ben Afflecks character in Dazed and confused.
I'm here for it!! I didn't get to finish this so I hope you guys do so I can watch the whole thing with y'all
Nikki.. giiiiiiirrrrrlll you’re about to fall in LOVE! with this show… it’s going to be a wild ride.. plus there are multiple spin offs and they’re great as well 🥳
As you watch this show, you'll come to understand the phrase " Don't make me go all Beth Dutton on you!"
You guys can totally come to Montana, it’s horribly beautiful. We had a lot of people move here which did take some land, but the parks are still SO beautiful. Glacier National is wonderful (book ahead of time)
We just watched a movie!! Yes!! Welcome to Yellowstone!! Absolutely exciting when I saw this video. Glad y'all changed your mind to watch this with us. ❤
