Hey, have you both decided to check out the 1950 version of Perry Mason? The old t v classic. Because I'm curious. How's that going to have a series on your channel
90% of animal sounds in TV shows are dubbed over. Especially with the horses. Kayce's beautiful grullo stallion wasn't actually making all that noise. He wasn't being hurt. He's specially trained for all that bucking and rolling ❤❤
And even in the context of the story, I don't think he was being hurt at all. He was just ornery as fuck and vocalizing his feelings on the whole "someone is riding me" issue 😂
@@TheGoIsWin21 I've dealt with Ornery Horses. Typically, not that vocal when you're on their back. However, they can raise hell when they're in a trailer or a stall. I've seen horses put feet through trailer walls. They'll kick and scream and you'd think you were torturing them. BUT, when you're on their back...Oh no. They don't have time for all of that. They are focused on ONE thing, removing you from the equation. Don't get me wrong, they'll snort and huff. But, they don't scream unless they're in pain (While you're on them.) Well...unless it is breeding time and you're on a hot mare with a stud VERY close by, or you're on a stud with a hot mare close by. Gotta love horses, they have just as many personalities as we have people in the world.
The Dinosaur thing is very real in Montana. There are a few former ranchers hunting bones full time there now. Big money in those fossils. The first skeleton found in Montana was in 1854. Paleontologists have discovered seventy-five different species of dinosaurs in Montana, more than any other state in America. The oldest dinosaur fossils are found in rocks of the Jurassic Period, which are 155 million years old. They include the gigantic Diplodocus, the plated Stegosaurus, and the fearsome Allosaurus.
NEEEEERD! :) I have taken trips to the Dakotas and Montana. Amazing how much prehistoric history there is. I was fascinated by a Mammoth burial ground in Hot Springs South Dakota. In Denver, we (we, like I'm out there digging them up) find Triceratops all over the place. (Which is why the Colorado Rockies Mascot, "Dinger" is a purple triceratops.)
It's all over that area of the country. On the border of UT and CO is Dinosaur, CO. And not far into UT from there is a local brewing company with a couple of dino named beers.
That ceremony is called "A Sweat" and that hut is a sweat lodge. Sheridan, in all his writing, is very respectful of Native American history and spirituality. Chief Rainwater's assistant Mo is played by Moses Brings Plenty who is also Sheridan's advisor on all things Native American. In a later season, there is a scene showing him and his family and they use his real life wife and son.
@@Ignats75 an argument with his Caucasian gf, that led to the Caucasian family cutting his braids and killing him?... The kid may have been troubled, but do you kill him?? Not only that- but the cops ain't do nothing about that!!
I guarantee you this is gonna be a hell of a journey. Taylor Sheridan is one of fav Writer/Director in this industry. And he himself said many times, Yellowstone franchise is about FAMILY and LAND. Just make sure to watch 1883 and 1923 afterwards.
More like pathological dysfunctional family, more reminiscent of the one in "succession". It's a good show, but it really pumps up and promotes ranchers, cowboys and "that lifestyle" by manipulating the message. Great show made by cowboys for cowboys.
The wolf being run over felt symbolic of Kayce's intransigence. He can't not do anything and he can't do something without their being consequences. He tries so hard to impact the outcome of the events around him without actually doing anything because he's scared of repercussions, of the conflict.
Great reaction as always. I think the reason John doesn’t lash out in anger here is because he has to switch strides so quickly into protective mode. He always struck me as emotionally very contained & it take a lot for him to show what he’s feeling. Backing a horse in deep water is an old method to breaking horses. It tires them out quickly and limits how violent their ‘objections’ can be. And don’t worry, Casey’s stallion isn’t being hurt, that scream is pure angry stallion. Pretty sure they lifted the sound from wild stallions fighting. :-)
Nikki needs to know that all TV shows have an animal person onset at all times when shooting and they are there to protect the animal. That horse was just showing his anger not his pain His whinnying was caused he was pissed. Jimmy weighed all of 13 lbs😊
You two have such sweet kind hearts. I can’t wait to see who you develop soft spots for and who you think you won’t like and who sneaks in and breaks your heart. Views will build as fans see you’re reacting. Please stick with this!
I'm gonna love to her view change on how they all have so much reverence and respect for horses... I hope she understands that horse culture and the bond between man and animal on a ranch is totally different from what she's experienced.
Yeah!!! I love Yellowstone, but if Nikki is gonna cry at every episode, it's gonna ruin it for me. These cowboys love their horses and never intentionally hurt them. In episode 1, John had to shoot the horse to put it out of it's misery. Come on, Nikki! Buck up, buttercup!
Yea. They love their horses like pedophiles kids. Right? What a bunch of bull crap and cowboy propaganda. You know, that we have 2024 and have researched shit out of it? Horses have major joint, "spine" problems, etc. after years of being ridden. It's not normal, natural, or healthy for them. Just because people have done it for years doesn't mean it's right. People have done a lot of fucked up things over the years. Cowboys "love" their animals because they're good and profitable goods. The moment the animal is no longer useful, the love ends and the bullet to the head or the slaughter for profit begins.
This is a fantastic series, you’re going to love it. After it’s over I would highly recommend watching 1883 and starting 1923 as they’re a very wonderful series’ as well
When you know the Lakota people, you recognize the sweat-lodge ritual and the scars on the Chief's chest, which indicate that he performed the Sun Dance.
Smoking cigarettes dipped in embalming fluid has been a thing since at least the 90s. They used to call it "wet" now they call it "fry", I guess it has an effect similar to pcp. I'd put money on it that the first person to try it wasn't a book reader.
I am SO happy that regular, non-bubble-living people are reacting to this series. I tried watching the two other reactors and they are just not up to your level. Not remotely. Thank you.
The wolf and the truck. Chief Rainwater told Kaycee to pay attention to the signs after the Sweat ritual. You'll find out that the wolf and Kaycee are linked throughout the series.
Sweat Lodge is not a ritual. It's a ceremony. My people have been doing this for thousands of years. You sweat to cleanse yourself, to get rid of bad spirits. Think about finding a way to be at peace with everything in your life
Rip is played by Cole Hauser. More light and blonder, he is in Dazed and Confused and Good Will Hunting. And, if you’ve seen 50 Shades of Gray, Kayce is Luke Grimes, also played Christian Gray’s adopted brother.
This series is so good that I binged the whole thing. The last season, I got myself barbecue and beer. The last time I ate meat was about 6 years ago. It was horrible, could not sleep at all that night because of indigestion but man I am glad I got to sit down, ate and drank with the Dutton family
The sounds that you hear from that buckskin when he has a rider on his back are akin to those you hear from a two-year-old when they don't want to go in the bathtub.
The bucket was filled with "Tannerite". A commercial binary explosive. Basically, it's ammonium nitrate and powered aluminum. It comes packaged, separately and came be shipped threw UPS. No license needed to buy it. You can buy it from Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, etc., as exploding targets. When it's properly mixed, you place it at a distance, they suggest 100yds. distance per pound, and shot it with a centerfire rifle cartridge, it goes boom. 2 pounds will turn a old washer or dryer into a flat sheet of metal and shrapnel. And yes, it's fun to shoot. I would go to a yearly get together with friends, on a farm. We'd fill water bottles with it and place them on top of fire ants mounds, at our improvised range. When one of the bottles was touched off, it removed all the grass from a spot, about 3 feet across, and the ants were not seen there, for a long time.
I kinda want the face Steven made when Thomas said "I would've let him burn" as an emote 🤣 The show so far has me making that face a bunch. If it's not that, I've got my hands on either side of my face like "whoa... I can't believe that just happened."
In the 90’s, smoking cigarettes and joints dipped in embalming fluid was quite common…and referenced in many songs by Tupac & others. That’s where the phrase “tripping off sherm” came from.
I love your guys reactions & this show is easily on my top 5. Your thoughts, questions & comments about Yellowstone were the same as mine coming into this show. Happy to rejoin this journey with you two 🤙
I'm glad you two are watching Yellowstone. Loved seeing your reactions to The Walking Dead. Now you get to experience Beth Dutton!! Hold on to your seats. Becasuse this will be a crazy ride with her. LOL There's a reason that there are actual Tshirts being sold that say, "Don't Make Me Go Beth Dutton On You."
If you rewatch, her brother was gonna shoot Kacey, kacey was just faster and shot him first. So kasey did shoot him out of self-defense, he didnt have to kill him, but he did initially shoot him out of self-defense.
In Indigenous Cultures the Sweatlodge is what we use for prayer and to realign ourselves... we sit in the "hut" with heated rocks and sage is dipped in water then splashed over the rocks, creating steam and heat. Then songs are sung and prayers are said. About the coyote that was on the road and was ran over, also in many Indigenous Cultures, the coyote is considered a messenger from our spiritual world. Yes, there is a smell.... in my neighborhood, there is a crematorium. The smoke stack is super high, and the smell is mostly nonexistent...... however. When the wind shifts a certain way I smell burnt hair and dollar store bacon...... woof.
I’m pretty sure that Casey shot his brother In law with Lees pistol that was holstered on his chest plate. That’s why the coroners report was pointing at a third shooter due to Lee being paralyzed and not being able to move. Spot on Nikki
I’ve this show once through. So idk if there will be anymore moments that will tough for Nikki to handle. I hope she pulls through cause this show is actually pretty good.
Ok you asked Nikki, my friend works in the funeral industry and has told me that the smell is exactly like a roast pork dinner....so there is the answer to your question.
This is actually one of my favorite series of all time. I call it my yeehaw godfather show, LOL. Beth is my favorite, I love Kayce and Tate so much too they remind me of my real life brothers. Please keep watching! I’ll warn that the pace doesn’t really pick up until about midway through s2, but it’s so worth the watch. The final season comes out this November
I really enjoy your reactions and been watching you since John Wick. This one has a lot of depth to it, much like Peaky Blinders. By the way, the 1883 series provides a lot of meaning to the Yellowstone series. 😊
6:22 Nikki is such a sweetheart, and I share her love of and concern for animals. But don't worry, that horse is not in pain, it's just really pissed off. 14:48 🤣🤣🤣 C'mon Steven...give us a little "Magic Mike".😉 15:58 Beth was already leading in the "favourite character" race, but here's where she and Rip really took over the series for me.
Nikki and Steve: FYI The Glock - 19 is the standard U.S. Federal Government issued side arm. Just like the Colt .45 A1 was back in my day. So it makes sense the that Tribal Police Chief and KC (as a former Navy Seal) would have the same gun and could just exchange slides so that in the future if someone wanted to do ballistics on either weapon it looks like the police chief shot the guy. As and aside Navy Seals are allowed to carry any weapon they want when they go to the field. So even though they are required to qualify on the pistol range with the Glock-19, when they go on mission they carry whatever they feel is best for them.
I'm happy that the Western genre has found new relevance and a home on television. Taylor Sheridan has done a great job breathing life back into the dying genre. A lot of it has to do with how long the superhero genre has been the ruling class in entertainment and how oversaturated it has become, thus making people crave something else. Yellowstone came right at that perfect timing where the superhero genre was at its peak but just before its downfall, so it offered an alternative by being grounded and realistic (to an extent).
Thank you for doing this show! Please check out the movie, Wind River, written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, the same guy, that wrote and directed Yellowstone, based on a true story, starring, Hawkeye and Scarlett witch, and alot of people from Yellowstone are in wind river, along with some beautiful scenery!

I really enjoy your reactions and been watching you since John Wick. This one has a lot of depth to it, much like Peaky Blinders. By the way, the 1883 series provides a lot of meaning to the Yellowstone series. 😊
Omg yes absolutely love this show
Nikki knows horses - you know they get mad. That horse is MAD!
It's sort of like Sons Of Anarchy with horses rather than bikes.
You ride for the Brand!!! Steven 😊
If your wife asks if she can see you in chaps, the answer is YES. 😂😅
You'll love rip by the end of the show guaranteed 😊
Like they're micing up horses 😂
6:22 Nikki is such a sweetheart, and I share her love of and concern for animals. But don't worry, that horse is not in pain, it's just really pissed off.
14:48 🤣🤣🤣 C'mon Steven...give us a little "Magic Mike".😉
15:58 Beth was already leading in the "favourite character" race, but here's where she and Rip really took over the series for me.
I love, love, love Beth! She makes me laugh!
Rip Wheeler is John Dutton’s “Mike Ehemantraut”
Thank you for doing this show! Please check out the movie, Wind River, written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, the same guy, that wrote and directed Yellowstone, based on a true story, starring, Hawkeye and Scarlett witch, and alot of people from Yellowstone are in wind river, along with some beautiful scenery!
The rule as a truck driver is you dont swerve to miss animals because it could cause another accident.
Yeah the horse doesn't sound like its being hurt. It sounds pissed off!
