CANNONBALL RUN - Toronto E-Riders - 07/29/22

- The Toronto E-Riders CANNONBALL RUN began as an unofficial, unsanctioned cross-town PEV race at the end of each weekly sunset cruise. It's a point A to point B race, with no designated route or rules (just get to the FINISH line and DON'T DIE). Each participant has the freedom to choose whatever route they think is best. It's a combination of various high-speed personal electric vehicles, including EUCs, E-Skates, E-Scooters, and E-bikes.
The route would take a car 22-50 minutes according to Google Maps, but the current RECORD on an EUC is just under 15 minutes. - Спорт
You are a WILD MAN! I bought my first wheel back in October 2023, Commander Mini. I live in rural WV, so I am the only one with a wheel. I pass out cards and stickers, yet no one will join me.
we euc folks are beyond rare
Man I watched this video when I was a newb and now I watched it again and I know why you're gonna have haters here, but it's an extremely exciting video to see the way that you push your wheel and the fact that your wheel kept up with you. EUC is amazing technology. Way to go.
Just raw speed! Love it
Imagine walking through a park at night and then seeing a buch of maniacs racing around, love it!
No, not that I know of.. I just put a Cali license plate on there for fun to represent my home state.
What a trip watching you fly down the roads!
Amazing video! Raw EUC footage. Thanks for sharing with us. This looks so much fun! :D
Love this format. Just raw EUC rip footage with clear commentary. 🔥🔥🔥
best euc night race footage
Love the format!
Wwooooh this is awesome!
Man... me just looking into getting into EUC and wanting to learn it and seeing you and everyone else in this video just fly.... man i don´t ever think i would be brave enough to ride like that.... i would be terrified but wow... such a cool video!!! :D they should do professionel races with EUC!
They Do!
i like the squeal your wheel makes when going fast.
I could feel the Adrenalin rushing, AMAZING MATE!!!
I have no idea why this was on my front page! I have no interest in E vehicles, Toronto, etc. However this video is bloody amazing, my son and I loved it! Loved the camera work! Sometimes it looked like some crazy, and quite pretty, video game!
Awesome man .
That cheer at 6:32 is gold 😂 I know that feeling of making into downtown 👌🏻
Just got my EUC, Gotway RS19 HT, and it's my 3rd day trying to ride it. Still can't find my balance yet. I'm hoping to get to this point one day. I also live in Toronto!
Try wiggling left and right like a bike. It helps with the balance before you start going forward.
@@dannycheung_ I'm finding right off the bat, it's leaning towards the right, and that makes me turn to the right.
@@ER0JIJI yea that’s right.. that’s mean you’re leaning to the right too much from the start.. however when you’re about to go right.. just wiggle left and right in one spot like you would with a bike when you try to stay in 1 spot and you would turn your handle left and right...try it and you’ll be shocked.
Keep trying, you can do it! Soon it will just click and you'll be off! The RSHT is an incredible wheel, I also own it and love it. But it's a bit more challenging to learn on than a smaller/lighter wheel. I learned on a 16x first, and even that felt big at the time. But after a few weeks, i was ready for something bigger/faster. So you made a good long-term purchase, but it may take a little longer to learn at the beginning. Keep trying though, you got this! 🤙
omg this is so sick!
i love it. The World needs Organdonors. Keep it up and fresh.
Awesome 😎 ride!!
🔥🔥🤘😜🤘🔥🔥
What battery bank do you use to support the rgbs?
What do you have your psi at because your just flowin threw the bumps
Brother would appreciate more road ahead angles so we can see what your seeing and experience the speed like you are than looking backward for future videos but you got some super awsome speed and accuracy as a driver for that thing I could not do it I'm way too paranoid about hitting something but kudos to you it looks major fun
This is the wildest run ever
Anyone knows what wheel is this? Seems fast and nice.
Looks like a Sherman. This was a while back.
EUC with license plate ? Or just for fun ? Anyway awesome ride .
Flying !!! 68 and somebody was ahead of you y'all got it
I need to come ride in Toronto looks like a blast. Not too bad of a drive from Detroit.
Do it! Great city to ride in, and a great rider community. 🤙
Sweet skills!
Bro love this !, love this vibe!
Awesome 😎 ride!! Thanks brother!!🙏
You're welcome! Thank you!
Awesome race. I see your EUC has a license plate? Is it registered?
Awesome rip thru the city!! I gotta learn seated riding asap!!
Thanks! You can do it!! I was scared to try it for a while, but where there's a will there's a way. You'll get it 👍
The main trick to learn to ride seated is to not hesitate. Get your ass on the seat in one smooth and short movement.
The dangerous part is while you're going down (Wobbles-o-Rama) , so cut that time short.
Loosely grab the handlebar and get down on her 😂😉.
@@mattca353 I 100% agree with this method - you just gotta commit, and sit down quick and hard. I noticed some more experienced riders do this early on, and it helped me feel much more confident. Just gotta go for it, commit, and plop that ass down! I also like to use the rollbar to pull me down with even more force/stability, but not all wheels have something to grab onto in the front.
mew to this world; I feel like theres some argument for some "handle bars" and you could employ a damper on them. this gives you more specific acceleration control of the lean angle, it adds dynamic mass (when you're holding them) to challenge "wobble." it's easily foldable/storable. Also it can exist and be there when you want to use it, but also not infringe on riding without them in anyway.
Damn.. thats both cool and insane.
the cops will never be able to catch them
You are a true EUC ace. Amazing. Maybe you won't be mad if I ask how much PSI you blow into your unicycle tire?
Is this legal? Seems like this is exactly rhe type of event that will make it harder for PEV to go mainstream.
Mostly. It's legal some places, illegal in others, (like many things) and a lot of grey area in between. The technology has evolved much faster than most bureaucratic legal systems can keep up with, so right now it's very much like the wild wild west. Clearly if these things are capable of going faster than cars in town, they should be regulated in similar ways as cars/motorcycles, at least if you want to ride on the roads. I'm shocked that I'm not able to register/insure my EUC like a motorcycle - I would if I could. I would even advocate requiring a special drivers license class to be allowed to ride PEVs on roads. I have my motorcycle license, and experience riding a motorcycle for a few years when I lived in LA (through busy traffic) - I definitely think motorcycle experience helps.
To be honest, I don't really care if they go "mainstream" or not - and whether they do or don't, I'm not here to try and control it. I'm not some PEV Messiah, I just do what brings me joy, and share it for other people who might also enjoy it. If they legalize them across the board, great! I'll keep riding. If they ban them, oh well! I'll just have to get more creative with where I ride, but I'll keep riding.
@@LookMaNoHands well, that is an incredibly selfish and shortsighted position. What you're doing will make the general Public see PEV riders as dangerous and willing to recklessly put the safety of pedestrians and other road users at risk... all for your own "fun". Not to mention that riding like this will likely lead to accidents. This will lead to more bans and regulations and you will have deprived many other people of the opportunity to get into this hobby and to have the fun you are.
Instead, why don't you think about how you can promote this obviously exciting sport/race that you are doing? Start a inter city series of EUC races. With rules, regulations and importantly proper safety measures. I can easily see this becoming widely popular and the next 21st century extreme sport. Be the pioneer, be the tony hawk of the sport and get rich and famous along the way. The side effect of that, conveniently so, is the increasing acceptance of this mode of transportation that is waaay better than cars.
Or don't.... and continue to drive like a maniac on public streets.
PEVs will go mainstream and be fully normalized regardless of the 'feelings' people have about them.
Of course not. This is illegal in EVERY city on this planet. If an innocent bystander got killed the list of charges would be significant. From DUI to Manslaughter - the jailtime isn't worth 15 min of adrenaline and some views on your channel. Never mind the damage it does to our community and our attempts to gain acceptance. It is incredibly selfish to post this publicly.
@@hoalanhoeverybody is selfish. That's animal nature.
We gotta get more videos like this
Wicked
Dude this is awesome!
Anyone know the model he is riding?
Veteran Sherman (v3)
Dude when is the next awesome canon ball run
Probably when riding season resumes.
We could register it as a vehicle?!
Whoa you have a license plate it that needed in Toronto?
Dam bro, crazy riding. You give me anxiety when the camera is on you, because I can't see what's coming up. 😁
Holy smokes y’all are cookin’!!
Is your tire out of round or not balanced? Sounds like it’s bouncing at high speeds.
Edit: what camera / mic are you using? Your audio is spot on!!
Sometimes the bouncing at high speeds is simply due to the bumps in the road, but I think what you're talking about is the rocking effect when I ride seated at high speeds.
I'm using the new insta360 one RS 1" 360 camera, with the audio input adapter and mount, and the Rode Wireless Go 2 mic (which is attached to my backpack, you can see the fuzzy deadcat on my chest if you look closely). I was actually kind of shocked at how good it sounds for such high speeds - it cuts a lot of the wind noise, but picks up my voice great when talking at normal levels.
Lmao the license plate is funny 😂 is jt actually registered, I always wanted to try a wheel they look fun
You handle the wobbles like a boss.
Remembered The Lost Boys film...
Red Lights are only a Suggestion.
This is dope, what kind of mic are you using? It's got hardly any wind noise
Rode Wireless Go 2 mic - there's an adapter for the insta360 camera that allows you to record external audio input. I agree, it's impressive how much it cuts the wind noise, but keeps the noise of the wheel and me talking casually.
The fact there is hardly any wind noise is because the mic is covered by something, usually looks pretty furry...
@@robl1799 Yeah the mic comes with a furry "deadcat" - you can see it clipped onto my backpack near my chest if you look for it.
@@LookMaNoHands nice video man👍
The energy at 630- I feel this so much!!!-
Yo , i aint on facebook but my homey shared with me the post about your wrist... I hope you get better soon. Never lose your fire brother.
Thanks man, appreciate it!
Nice ride! And great footage! 😃
Great video bro!
Me, who usually just rides on sidewalks: 😱
Sidewalks are for walking! 😉
@@LookMaNoHands In my defense, I'm riding the Mten3 :D
I was just giving you a hard time! The Mten is a fun little wheel, I got it to learn how to pendulum and ride backwards. But i don't blame you, I wouldn't take that little cutie out into the streets either. I only ever really rode mine inside my house during the brutal Toronto winters.
@@LookMaNoHands lol yes I got it for the same reason! But now that I have it, im having tons of fun with it and actually don’t mind riding at slow speeds. 😁
This is too crazy
I ride an old chopper with apehangers... and I think those onewheeled e-thingies look like a deathtrap! LOL Must be a crazy feeling going so fast on something that looks and feels so unstable... I guess now I know how cardrivers feel about motorcycles... LOL
I forget who said it to me but every new generation has two goals: 1. make the older generation feel obsolete and 2. find a new way to break your wrists/ankles.
Honestly, Unicycles are super stable at high speeds. Its going slow when they are least stable
@@XZIL_R8ED same for bikes! 😉☺️
You made 1 mistake. It looks unstable, its true, but not feels unstable. And in fact, not unstable at all (on high speeds).
Super dangerous. One false move and you might be done. If you fall off (which you will one day) your EUC might kill someone.
Nice run!
I wonder how close 6:17 really was
God I love Euc's
Letssss gooooo!🔥
how much battery did that run use?
Not much. That was only 6.8 miles. So no more than 25 % @ thise speeds.
Can you please provide details on your EUC and any Mods.
Here I'm riding my Veteran Sherman - pretty much all the mods I've done are purely cosmetic and external (paint, motorcycle tail light and plate, LED lights), otherwise it's completely stock! I've never even opened this wheel up, still on the original tire (kenda262). Such a solid wheel, will always be one of my favorites.
@@LookMaNoHands in the video you said "68, 69... 70" as you were reaching 70. Since you are in Canada I assume it was "Kilometers per hour" and not Miles per hour, even though it looked like you were going insanely fast. Dumping at 70 you would be a red smear on the ground like falling off a motorcycle.
How much faster do you think they can make them and would people have enough personal fortitude to hold on?
MotoGP EUC laughing my @$$ off.
Side note, I love how your gopro was invisible stick. Almost as if you had your own drone following you.
@@PimpTrigger Correct, that's kilometers per hour. It is fast, but the wide field of view definitely exaggerates the speed a bit more.
@Tommythumbs just for fun
😯 Wow Amazing riding skills
Thanks!
Wow that was exciting to watch! Stay safe out there brother
Killer footage. This may be my destination for next summer family vacation! It would be my first trip out of the states... there seems to be a great riding community there.
How are the pev laws? Will i have issues getting my stuff across the border? Any hassles from cops? Is there a solid bike lane system?
The riding community in Toronto is great, if you come there will definitely be people to ride with. The pev laws here are grey, haven't really caught up yet, but I've never been hassled by the police. There are bike lanes throughout most of the city, but I try to stay out of them as much as possible - depends a lot on your riding speed and style, but I generally prefer the roads to bike lanes. I'm actually moving back to the states this month, but you should definitely come visit Toronto, it's a great city (in the summer 🤣)!
As a EUC rider. This is madness. You have zero control of how fast you are going. AT NIGHT. Yes YOU are having fun. But you are grown men going that fast in and out and around live traffic on the roads and the sidewalk. Total disregard for people and traffic around you. You guy's are why people hates EUC's!
madmen 👀
That's one HELL OF A RUN! 🤙🏼👍🏼🔥🔥🔥
Why can’t have nice things
This is the kind of stuff that's going to ruin it for the rest of us.
I love going fast too, but doing it through traffic/pedestrians like this is just reckless and is just gonna make the public hate EUC riders.
It’s a yearly event calm down 😂
@@kingdongo4388 and it shouldn't be.
@@Liefx well it is and will always be :)
Same as the actual famous cannonball runs :)
@@kingdongo4388 And as long as they do I will remind you how selfish and reckless they are being.
@@Liefx you do know that most decisions you make are also selfish and reckless, maybe not to you, but of course you don’t want to think about that.
¡qué locura! \m/
sick stuff dude...
Do you guys meet up all the time?
Yeah, especially in the summer. We do a weekly sunset cruise every Friday night, but there are also random rides throughout the week.
@@LookMaNoHands the meeting spot is random?
@@empressbb71 sometimes, but there are usually a few recurring meetup spots. If you ever want to join, you should join the Toronto E-Riders fb group.
@@LookMaNoHands i ask because i am social media limited 😉..no fb
Send the cops.
Hes going 42 mph
Should allow on 401.😂😂
For the race you're allowed to go wherever you want. It is a point A to B race. Anywhere in between is within the rules.
A bit too crazy,if you ask.
Probably you disturbed a lot of people during this race.
You a serious rider aye
UNBELIEVABLE
What you are riding is cool. It's like looking at a single wheel Kawazaki bike except its electrical.
Damn I can’t believe it that I missed that 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You would have left me in the dust! 💨 Good thing you weren't there, would have made me look like an amateur. 😏
@@LookMaNoHands no I don’t think so ☺️
what is that thing?
Assuming you're talking about the thing I'm riding, it's an Electric Unicycle (or EUC for short).
At these speeds you need a legit motorcycle helmet. Not what you are currently wearing.
😝🤙 (that cop at the almost at the end 😳)
Haha, yeah I get all excited and let out a huge "Let's go baby, WOOOOO!!!" and then see the cop and immediately switch to chill mode, gave the cop a nice casual wave. ;)
@@LookMaNoHands that was your mistake. You lost too much time going into chill mode 😎
Atleast they are quite. No more annoying ricers, harleys, crotch rockets
На одном колесе ездят. У них на второе колесо денег не хватает?
From TIMES SQUARE NEW YORK CITY !!! YOU GO GUY 1 LOVE & PEACE
awesome, 👍😁👍
Casually says hello to the cops 13:20 man tell the other guy to atleast wear a helmet otherwise good work lol
I wear a helmet and encourage everyone else to, but I'm nobody's dad. But I imagine when the laws/regulations catch up, helmets will be one of the first requirements. 👍
top speed?
72km/h on this run. Would have been a bit higher if I had full battery, but it wasn't worth risking a faceplant.
44mph
Oh i have the Sherman AND love it true story
👍
I think you guys are cookin
