4MOTION benefits
4MOTION helps provide reliable traction and optimum directional stability. This all-wheel drive system can automatically adapt to varying road conditions with ideal power delivery-all without you having to do anything but focus on the adventure ahead. 4MOTION also works in conjunction with other active stability systems, like Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), for instance.
Hill Descent Control
This feature helps you go down steep grades that can be partially slippery. With Hill Descent Control, active when in Off-Road Mode6, the Golf Alltrack will brake for you while going downhill, keeping your ride at a constant, controlled speed.

I didn't expect this review to so in depth. I just wish more people would be this thorough when reviewing a car.
Love the opening shot of the underside! Nobody ever does that. Thanks for the quality review of this vehicle. Would like to have seen it driven.....
Love your review videos! Your style of reviewing cars is amazing.
Very neat review Mike i'm loving your work
Thanks :)
I know it's incredibly nerdy, but I really like the camera work showing underneath the car. Great job!
Wow awesome review! I love this wagon my wife and i will be buying one soon!
Great job, Mike! You did such a fantastic job reviewing this vehicle. You also do a great job of giving your viewers a good visual as to what the Golf Sportwagen Alltrack has to offer! Keep it up!

Thank you so much Mike for your review. So far it has been the most in depth review I've seen. Too bad you didn't go on a test drive. I would love to get your feedback on that aspect.
Great review, Sir!
Thanks for watching and your feedback :)
Excellent review and you covered every feature of the 2017 Alltrack SE, including the only rolling view of the underneath. Now we can see the combination of metal and plastic pans to protect most components. Looks like a slow slide over rocks may even provide protection not seen on Subaru's of the same class/size. Most compact SUV's that compare in price don't have included comparable underside protection either. Now I won't have to lie on the ground at the dealer to see what it looks like underneath. Thank You!
Thank you for watching Salvatore :)
The front part of that panoramic sunroof goes further back than most! Wow!
Awesome overview, Ty
Good job Mike.
I might have wrongly commented negatively on one of your reviews before. actually they are very good and very professional. apologies and keep up the good work
Thank you Fernando :)
Great job!
So nice. ...this is the one to buy.
Very nice review.
Thank you :)
Nice, My next vehicle
Very helpful
These drive great, I am deciding between this an Outback and a CX5 for my next car...
We went with a Regal TourX 2.0T with torque vectoring AWD for low $20's. Quite the deal with discounting!
We need more cool wagons like this in the US. It's the least VW could do after the diesel crisis lol.
Hey Graham - we also carry the Golf Sportwagen if wagons are your fancy....and that puppy can be ordered with a manual transmission! A row-your-own wagen, no one else is doing that in the US! www.eastcoastvolkswagen.com/new-inventory/index.htm?saveFacetState=true&year=&internetPrice=&model=Golf+Sportwagen&normalExteriorColor=&bodyStyle=&trim=&normalTransmission=&lastFacetInteracted=inventory-listing1-facet-anchor-model-8
is the trim on the lower part of the rear bumper aluminium ?
This is an off-road type of car and you’re asking if that’s aluminum, a metal that’s thin
Hi Mike,
I'm trying to decide on my next vehicle. You presented excellent videos on both the 2017 Subaru Outback, as well as this video of the 2017 VW Golf Alltrack. I'm having a really tough time deciding between the two. They both appear to be awesome vehicles for the money. Can you please tell me which of those vehicles you preferred, and why? I don't mean to upset anyone on this forum!!!! Thank You!
Hi Cheryl,
I wish I could help you narrow it down however they are both great vehicles and either one would be a great choice. Subaru holds their value better than most vehicles so that is one thing to consider.
Mike :D
Subarus are more reliable also.
Love the 1.8
It’s better than the 2.0 lt r
Not a big fan of VW... but for 32K, this car is a good deal
DimachkaS I just got my 2018. I am in love. Everything is well built.
@@videacity Any problems with the car yet?
Awesome review as always! Only an idiot would need that package to drive IMO.

Right side fuel door! Why? Possible deal killer, right there for those of us in cold climates.
sstteennoo dumbest negative i ever heard.
I know this commit was made 3 years ago but I’ve driven a 2002 vw cabrio for the last 7 years with a right side fuel door and it’s not a bother at all! If it’s too cold I just hop in the passenger seat while it’s fueling :)
It's for safety. Volkswagen made the fuel door on the right side so if you run out of fuel and have to fill up you're not in the line of traffic.
