- A very busy day catching North Sea cod at beautiful Beadnell on the Northumberland Coast.
Drifting the rough ground between Beadnell Point and the Newton Buoy saw fish after fish to the kayak - fantastic sport on the lures and light gear! A thoroughly enjoyable day with weedless shads and metals doing the damage as usual

Thats the best fishing in the uk ive ever seen. 1 and 2 kilo fish are what we catch with softbaits in new zealand , but we keep up to 7 and eat them
Hey Joe, it was a canny day but not unusual for this time of year. The fishing will improve a little more still into September as well. Autumn is my fave time of year for fishing inshore waters in the uk 👍🎣

It was like that all day! split straight down the middle! Made getting the right exposure very difficult which is why the second half of the vid is a bit dark 👍🎣

It’s a cracking spot isn’t it Steve - I was drifting the barnyard in the second half of this vid. It’s especially good when the wind and tide keep you just on the edge of the depth change isn’t it.

Great day! you should try a small multiplier or a baitcaster -observing you turning your rod upside down on each drop-more practical and easy to use!
It was a fab day, the rod is rung for a fixed spool it’s supposed to be held rings down . Tight lines mate 👍🎣

great video do you have a film on your equipment kayak/fish finder/rod and clothing etc or a future film maybe.I just lure fish off the rock occasionally and the odd boat trip and would love to know whats involved before I'm to old 😅

Thanks mate, it was a lush day. There’s no recreational quota as far as I’m aware for Cod just the size limit but I only ever take one or two anyway if I’m bringing some home. Tight lines mate 👍🎣

Chris is that the 24lbs thrust motor u have on that kayak? Is that the sturgeon fx ? If so can you do a video on how you have done the connections etc and how you have wired it up please, I've now had to give up due to my back but I'm looking at that motor but put off by the clamp on connections shown on the website, there's no write up about it either on the galaxy website, so would love to see an in depth video of how you have done things if possible many thanks
Hi Darren mate, it’s dead simple just extend the cable with a couple of butt connectors and an inline fuse from Halfords and that’s it! Wrap the connections in self amalgamating tape to waterproof them. (You get that from Halfords as well) I keep the battery in the box behind my seat 👍🎣

No mate, it’s a switch for speed. Slow, fast and reverse 👍
How do you rate the kayak you use now to the others you reviewed and is it stable for sea fishing,as I am looking to upgrade to one
Hi mate, the Sturgeon FX is my fave of the three as I have the motor for it. If the wildcat had a motor option that would be my first choice. The Supernova is great but just a little too heavy for me at times. Hope that helps.👍🎣
And what break strength are you using
Max break will be about 23lb but lb test wise that’s around 15lb. There’s a difference in the way US brands advertise. They use max break (no knot lab test) and we use lb test which is a real world knotted rating. You can’t go wrong if you stick to diameter and this is 0.13mm Hope that helps. 🎣
Great day's fishing, well done. I've had fish at Hadston and Whitley but not in those numbers. Do you have to pay to launch at Beadnell?
Cheers mate, it was a cracking day. You just have to pay for parking at Beadnell at the moment but they may be introducing an honesty box at some point in the future 👍🎣

@@robindunn7609 Trailed Boats have to pay a launch fee, it's an assisted tractor launch down the beach, there's no slipway. Works very well.
