Remember Gollum? He’s back! In POG form!
You traded the Precious for POGS!?
Who ask for a Gollum movie, or video game anyway?
Andi Serkis, I don't know who else precious, t'wasnt any nasty Hobbitses
Gollum is the most characteristic and recognisable character fo the random viewer and the timeframe makes plenty of stories available - one could put the whole of Aragorn and Arwen romance into this timeframe, if wanted.
I’m assuming the Gollum film will also have a focus on Aragorn given he’s the main one hunting Gollum. I think it would be cool to see Aragorn interacting with Elrond’s sons Elladan and Elrohir it’s a good way of introducing some fresh characters that fit within Tolkien’s Lore maybe we might meet someone like Glorfindel too.
Exactly what i said, it will be in fact the origin story of Aragorn (by flashbacks), remembering his past all the travel way to bring Gollum to elves
The less I see/hear gollum, the better.
"Might not"? Who the hell is anywhere near excited? Besides those who somehow 🎉enjoyed Hobbit and Power? Hundreds of different stories just dying to be adapted, and yet "them" just focus on a select few.
Warner wants to extract as much revenue as possible from the IP even if it essentially ruins it and completely alienates fans. Very Disneyesque thinking.
True, just look at the Gollum video game they did. Lots of people claimed it to be one of the worst video games ever made for that year.
They loose rights to the IP if they don't release a movie every so often. So they release a movie to secure the rights for 10 more years
When I heard that Peter Jackson is involved in another LotR movie, I was really hoping that they would make trilogy "They are taking the Hobbits to Grey Havens"
In fact the movie name will be "the hunt for Gollum" but no one said that it will be a Gollum movie, because his protagonist will be Aragorn, and so it will be indirectly an origin story for him, maybe with flashback of his young age like in the event of "born of hope" short movie
Hopefully this isn't based on that Gollum video game...............
Imagine if it was lmao
Its funny and ironic how everyone is "I want to see more middle-earth" and then something is announced or released and everyone is like "nah, not that!"
Seriously though out of all the things they could do… they make a Gollum movie??? GOLLUM??!?
Who cares????
Give me the War of the Last Alliance FFS
I really can't argue with anything you've said. One point though is the rights. In general the Tolkien Estate is not giving out rights to anything outside of the core books (The Hobbit and LotR). Even the Rings of Power is still based on the LotR appendix.
Anything from the Silmarillion could be an epic series of movies. Why back to the tired concept of gollum? Even they have to stay in the focus of the more modern age, they could cover the war between the dwarves and orcs throughout the iron hills and the misty mountains and the retaking of Khazad-dum explore what Glorfindel was doing defending the free lands against the 9, deep delve into what happened to the Beornings. How about them Blue Wizards??? Theyd have carte blanche to make up anything since there's nothing much about their story!
And yet they choose THIS 😐😐😐🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Andi Serkis is the Chris Pratt of motion capture.
It´s 2024 and people still oblivious that WB do not own the rights to The Silmarillion.... 🤡
If they focus on the _hunt_ for Gollum and less on Gollum himself, this could become a beautiful Middle-earth movie, with no great battle scenes (which would be a nice change) and more attention to Strider and one of his epic adventures before LOTR, especially because for the hunt of Gollum he has to do some serious travelling again. So, lots of chances to see more of Middle-earth :) For me the best news is that Phillipa Boyens and Fran Walsh are back, too. They are fantastic writers.
Feels like Dobby finds another sock
Amazing video what culture.
On the upside Andy is a pretty solid director.
They really should make this a trilogy, because there is so much material (money) that can be squeezed out of this.
They can't just do something from the silmarillion, WB don't have the rights to do that. Amazon couldn't even get the rights to do that.
I would like to see a Tom Bombadil movie. A Gollum movie just sounds boring to me.
Gollum will be just like an element or a mission in this movie, because in fact it will be an Aragorn spin-off
To be honest, although Tom sounds like an intriguing character.A movie about him would probably be pretty boring. All I would be with him at home spending time with goldberry and not leaving the confines of his house
They need to make a lord of the rings where sauron won the war because in all movies good win
Couldnt be any worse than the gollum game
Just as pointless though
There are other sci fi/fantasy writers out there that deserve a turn at bat. Where the Chronicles of Amber, or anything else by Roger Zelazny? There are some many tales to be told lets get with it
STOP PRODDING THE LOTR CORPSE AND FINISH THE TINTIN SEQUEL YOU PROMISED US TWELVE YEARS AGO, PETE
Don't forget Warner Bros. just forced an independent film-maker who made a film with exactly the same name, a pretty good one at that, a fan film made not-for-profit, take down their 25 minute movie from UA-cam. I will not be supporting this film. Peter Jackson should come up with his own idea instead of stealing someone else's...
Well, they do have the law on their side. Someone who doesn't hold the rights to something isn't allowed to make a movie about it and keep it on UA-cam if its holder requests its removal.
Hunt for Gollum is back online.
This is super dumb move by them.. they desperate thou.
This, to me, is BADDDDDD news!
The stories I want to see are being protected from the dastardly effects of Hollywood. Hopefully
The only good thing about The Hobbit was the casting of Martin Freeman. I watched the LotR TV show and tuned out very quickly. We have no need to return to Middle Earth unless we get a truly, faithful to the book, TV series with totally different showrunners and cast.
If the minions didn’t work is their own characters what in the right fucking mind makes think Gollum will
Sounds like the fan film from years ago.
"stop gate keeping, let people just enjoy their creatively inert algorithmically green-lit content" etc
Diminishing returns. Peak indifference here.
Do your research, Simalarion???
As a filthy casual, I never cared for Gollum orbthe hobbits.
Love your content ❤❤❤
Why should this movie be made?
Second, why should I want to go see this film?
Bilbo > Frodo
Good stories out of the 'Tolkien-verse' by PJ, Andy Sekis and co? Yes please!
Gollum...why? There are loads of better, more interesting stories to tell from the books imho.
This shit is definitely going to be whack. Like why are they trying so hard to make solo Gollum shit work?!? I swear studios actively try to make stuff that no one cares about. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I would have done The Witch King of Angmar
What is the obsession with Gollum?? First that trash game, now this. Even if Peter Jackson is Producing that means nothing. He also produced Mortal Engines and TinTin, which were pretty bad.
WHAT ABOUT THE WITCH KING??? DO THE WITCH KING OF ANGMAR!! Am I the only one who thinks his backstory would be brilliant & make money? Or at least do a TV show that tells his story.
The obsession with Gollum is that Andy Sirkis won awards and they think that means money in the bank. Period. End of story.
It said that two movie was announced, the hunt for Gollum and an unknowing other one(other that war of the rohirrim), so maybe this one will be his
@@kylethoren1949 Very irrelevant, They are gonna make money regardless. So make something cool instead of pandering. Did you read my comment completely
Nice idea, how about exploring who they all were before their fall into Nazgul.
@@MC-tl7oj Genius!! I love it. It'd be really hard to do because there hardly is any cannon to go off the Nazgul backstories. But I'd still think that would be compelling, way more exciting than Gollum. I think they show them holding the 9 rings in the beginning of the Fellowship movie. I've always wanted to know more about them, so you are not alone.
Thanks for reminding me why I stopped watching UA-cam content ☺️ Move on.
There’s SO MUCH in the Silmarillion! Go there WB! (Also pronounced: sill-ma-rill-ion)
Fortunately, they don't have the rights. I say fortunately because the obvious story to film is Beren and Luthien, and that's sacred ground. There's no-one I would trust to do it justice.
