Everybody who doesn't have a riding buddy, join a mountain bike club in your area! It's a great way to make friends, it's how James and I met!
Most of my friends are the same skill level
Sorry to hear your hand has not healed yet...Berm crk dude broke his leg very dangerous this bike riding. ..I broke my ankle 2 yrs ago so i know how frustrating it is waiting to heal...I prayed to Jesus for speedy recovery and it worked...Love watching you guys thankyou for doing what you do...God bless.🙋
@@stevecrump1375 Yh I also love berm peak, he broke his shoulder on berm creek but when they moved to peak he broke his leg. I hope ur hand gets better and heals quickly, you should do a crossover with berm peak
@@stevecrump1375 Actually, I prayed to Satan and that's what healed your ankle.
@@mattgies 2 peter 3:3 most importantly i remind you that in the last days scoffers will come scoffing and mocking the truth and following their own evil desires. ..
"If you eat it, they (your friends) can scrape you off the mountain." That's good advice.
I'm always alone and that's why I pay my monthly inReach subscription. I figure if I am unable to scrape myself off, maybe I can talk someone into coming or hit the SOS button. Hopefully its unused insurance.
How the heck does he not have like 20 mil subs. This is my favorite mtb channel on UA-cam

Mabye 50 million

I was about to make this comment but figured it was already here, too good xD
The titles so true, a few of my mates recently started MTB in their mid 20’s and invited me along after 11 years off the bike. I fell out of love with biking after years of racing 4x & BMX by breaking my scaphoid, dislocating my elbow and snapping ligaments in my knee in a crash when I was 17.
That was the 3rd consecutive race season with multiple fractures and X Rays, I got dropped by my sponsors because I wasn’t able to compete enough for them due to my injuries.
The final nail in the coffin was being told that my elbow will never be strong again (the 5th time id dislocated it after breaking it when I was 14) and being told that any more damage to it and I’d need surgery and I wouldn’t even be able to play a sport like golf as that would be too strenuous on my elbow, all of this made me hate the sport and walk away from something I’d loved since the age of 10.
Fast forward 11 years and I was invited out by my mates for a ride at Easter this year and after about 6 months they’ve all said they now try jumps they never dreamed of trying after I’ve done them because I’m able to tell them how to get the speed right for a jump “if you don’t brake around the berm you’ll clear it easily” “2 cranks and you’ll pop right over it” or by towing them in / jumping the jumps as slowly as I can while they watch so they know the slowest ‘safe speed’ to clear the jumps. and I’ve gotta say knowing that I’m responsible for their progression and helping people fight the fear before trying something new has really made me fall in love with the sport again.
One day at a bike park and I got one friend who would only jump small tabletops to be jumping doubles and gap jumps up to 10 foot long, the feeling of accomplishment I felt was way better than any race win.
And knowing I’m helping others improve at something I was and still am passionate about(and looking back on it always was) it has stopped the downward spiral I was in for my mental health, Ive been on and off anti depressants since I stopped racing and for the last 8 years I was filling the void with cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis. Having trips to look forward to and setting my mates challenges to help them improve and helping them overcome ‘the fear’ has helped me be me again and the best part? I’ve not touched any cocaine or ecstasy since May (I still have a joint now and then but I’ve gone from having 5 Js a day to one or 2 on a Friday night after a week of work)
Great to hear but try and get of the cocaine it won’t help in the long rub

Note to self. Revelstoke. That wall ride is amazing. Holy crap. This place looks amazing!
"Friends are a big reason why mountain biking is so fun!"
;-;
I love how they have options for all riders. makes everyone fell a bit better.
the worst thing about a friend is the peer pressure because if its something I DO NOT want to, they start saying I'm so scared and i can't do anything
And then if they do it and you don’t, you want to do it even if it’s to big of a feature fo you
@@tobyoutdoors5256 exactly
Honestly, having friends who push you is better than any coaching you can have. Just get out there and ride with your buddies and send it!
See, this is great! Most people’s channels are dead when they get injured, but you have done amazing in entertaining me now! Keep doing what you are Eric!
nice vid Eric ... i like the message about returning to your friends ... its one of the best aspects of our sport ... that "having done it together" feeling .... Here`s to Friends
Fall is my FAVORITE time of year to ride, however, my plans of riding were cut short. I crashed attempting my first whip off of a quite large double. I received a traumatic brain injury and a broken elbow and I am out of the game for a couple years. Watching your videos keeps my confidence up and excited to start riding again!👍🌲🚲🌲
great sentiment in this video , spent a lot of time during lockdown riding solo , cant wait to get back to banter beer and some gentle peer pressure
I love it. Not only can you send it but you can get others to too.
Stay Strong BCpov!!! Things always seem to work out my brother. Get that needed R&R and you will be back 110%
That looks like a awesome trail!
Don't get discouraged with your broken wrist. I broke my right arm in August... its also not healing as fast as I would like but I keep looking forward to next year. Perhaps use the time to lay out next year's trip :) Keep up the great work on the videos, I love the commentary and that fact you are not superhuman like the rest of us :) It makes you more relatable and gives me hope that I can reach your level of skill someday!
These are sick trails and features, I mean like damm
Makes me wanna hop on a plane just to get there and ride it :D
I feel like your favorite quote is... "I just need somebody to tow me in..." 😂
I love your content keep your head up and don’t let it down keep up the great work
I saw those moths this year. They really made it a surreal experience. Like something you see in the movies
I feel for you buddy. I've had a hole in my leg from a nasty crash into a tree that hasn't healed for 8 months, going on 9 this month. I've only been able to do a few road rides and nothing in the trails for what should have been an easy recovery. Just now seeing signs that I may be able to get out there soon. Hang in there, dude. You'll be riding in no time!
9:31 at least that dog doesn’t jump when y’all jump that
Great video!! You’ve got earned a new subscriber
Completely true me and my friend on my channel push each other to get better all the time
I hope You get better soon. Friends are good too in hard times, nice topic in this video
Awesome video, I’ve just finished my new build and really looking forward to getting back into it and loosing some weight, just need to find some riding buddies
I totally agree : bike & friends are indissociable.
Good Luck for your scaphoid... I just had collarbone surgery 2 days ago and I'm already missing my bike... And my friends !
thx for posting all these amazing videos.
This is so true i just started riding regularly this past April as when gyms shut down i bought a bike been at it ever since mainly trail rides but recently tried some downhill which was so much fun i have since been there twice w hopes of getting one more trip in before they close for the season funny story while i am in my 40’s i had a little kid tow me it to a pretty big drop and it was pretty cool he was a ripper for sure!
i have 0 clue why i watched a bunch of your vids and never subbed. much deserved, your videos have a true mark rober feel to them - they are very positive!
Im from revy and i love seeing people ride the trails. Hope to see more videos filmed in revy
Your videos are so good these past few months.
These are some of the best trails I've ever seen on this channel
I was waiting for this so long
Beautiful terrain!
I'm sad for ya man..... hope that healing process kicks in soon!
Excellent video!
Awesome video, its great to have mates who can encourage you to do things you otherwise may not have done - I have a friend just like that and he 'makes' me do many silly things on my MTB which all helps to grow my confidence. And, where it doesn't work, I have knee pads to cushion the fall! ;-)
"Living in the public eye can be isolating."
I know that's why I isolate myself so I don't have to deal with the public eye and feel so isolated. Trust me it makes more sense than you think.
Another great video...👏👏👏
i started riding in march this year, so i have only ever been able to solo so far, however, i can't wait for next year so i can join the local MTB group :) very much looking forward to having some new friends to share this new hobby :) also, dang, really sry to hear about your injury not healing yet, i was hoping for you to get out on that bike again very soon. stay positive though, you are an awesome rider, i'm sure you will shake the rust off very quickly when it is safe to do so. :) BTW....if that amazing looking druid bike needs exercise, i'd be happy to bring it down some new england trails for ya ;P haha
The trick to big drops is putting the dogs tail between the chain and chainring while pedaling. Right when you feel pressure you pedal hard and get the courage you need
Scaphoid fractures suck real bad... I also fractured my scaphoid a couple of years ago. Luckily it was a non-displaced fracture so no screw needed. It took about 3 months until I was back on the bike. 8 weeks in a cast and another month of intense physio to get back my full range of motion and strengthen my hand. Physio is so important! However, for about a year, I still had some weird sensations in my hand. It took a while until it felt as strong as before. After a year it was all good. I managed to get my confidence back up and even get better at riding the bike. Definitely learned to pace myself better and make smarter decisions. Have a quick and easy recovery!
Hope you are feeling better!
BEST THUMBNAIL YET!!!
Great video 👌🔥
Been watching your channle for a while now, the stuff u are doing now u wouldent even have consitered doing. Keek up the good work and keep the vids comimg
That trails packed with so many sick features
Man i need this place to get over my fear of drops
I was afraid of drops forever and I hit my first big one (12 feet) and your fear goes away. You just go off of it and don't think. Hope this helped :)
@@huntercorrado5742 yeah I did that and got hurt on a 10ft drop that's why I have the fear now
A trail dog named after a bike pedal! That is just sooo cool, man! 😄
"I'm telling you things you already know, but need to hear." Now that's how you encourage a mate!
1:03 When I saw that you were driving on that side of the road, I completely freaked out lol 😂
Those drops are disgusting, SO SICK!! Love ya work mate!
Found ya!

Y’all have the dream life!
Yuka: Okay bye bye *sends it*
Bro, your dog is killing me, he is soooo cool!
Good luck on the Scaphoid! I was in a cast for 8 months with mine. Ended up having to completely remove it and fuse all the bones together.
Oh and it's nice for warming up for big ramps
Fantastic video again, sorry it hasn't healed. 2020 has really been a sucky year in so many ways. Patience is difficult in 2020 for sure.
Stay strong buddy, look after you wrist first!
The trails you guys get in bc are so sick very jealous! Here in Cornwall UK good trails are few and far between
"I've seen this on youtube" by far the best youtuber quote in a long time. Also it great to see James back in the videos. I've been watching since back in the early days and always enjoyed the chemistry you guys had in the videos. He never shys away from the spicy bits. Chesterton added bonus as well
Love you man
Dude you make it look so easy. Pucker factor is high
hi,
thats exactly what our group o 5 buddy's do...pusch the comfort zone a bit further without being to aggressive and risk injury...2-3 attempts ,send ok..if not maybe next time...All can, NOTHING must ;) RIDE ON!!
My first time at a downhill park, I met a few really cool guys to tow me in. I thought I would be stuck on greens and blues all day, but by the end, they had coached and encouraged me enough that I was able to hit a double black. Insane what a little encouragement and confidence can do.
Awesome vid! That sure looks like Chilliwack at the end there, I might have to drive up to take a look 🤔
Great video
Your definitely the best ytber❤️❤️
Chester: Moves a single paw
Them: CHESTER!!!
"If you eat it, they can scrape you off the mountain" 😂👍 Theres always that friend that always crashes...might be me 🖐
I'm that person, I crash all the time, but getting less, so assume this means, I'm getting better at it! :-)
😅 @Electric Bear Same! Crashing safely takes some practice hahah dismounting and knowing when to bail
I love your videos!!!!!😂🤣
this is sick
No lie the MTB community is the best and so nice.
Dang the GoPro effect is real on this
bro im so early bro
A kid on the trails was the key to my progression recently. I came to a big drop, was eyeing it up and some kid came wazzing past and went it’s not that bad, just go for it and promptly went over the drop. I was suitably embarrassed and went for it. The kid was right 😂
Wow. I wish there was a place like that here in mn. And good friends to help. Have to work on that.
I really like your Videos! And I really can't waiting to see new trailbuilding - stuff.... do you want to fish the trail you began in spring? :)
Every single day I are going to ride they always go as fast as I can do tricks like tailwhips and everything I try as hard as you can like you
I think it’s cute how the dog kept getting in the way
The GoPro effect was crazy on the boulder feature
Beautiful Doggo.
I have never wanted friends more in my life
Friends are the reason why almost everyone of us ride mountain bike!
That one drop that you stopped there was a cool skinny you should have done
Those trails :`( wish we have similar where I live
Nice👍👍
Hope it all turns out well with your scaphoid! 👍
You’re my favorited UA-camr
🤘🤘
Sometimes following a friend that is faster than you can make you more faster (doesn't always work but works sometimes)
Chester loves getting in the way hahahahahaha
I feel bad for you. I also broke my scaphoid in March, and I still need support gloves to ride. My advise? Don't go ride to soon. I did it because I was really anxious to get on the bike, but then stoped for a month and the difference was night and day in terms of pain and wrist fatigue.
I feel for ya man, I was in a cast for almost a year with a broken (and then rebroken) scaphoid...they heal so friggin slowly!
Omg they are the worst did you get screws
@@lejamesbron4055 thankfully no, my break didn't displace!
Everytime I see that footage of you falling to break you wrist it hurts me too ! It sucks, but it's bound to happen sometimes...
Aw mate, I thought Yuka's video had a sad ending. Yours has topped it. Sorry you're still healing. I hope it starts getting better faster soon. Hang in there Bro.
Poor dug was bloody exhausted
ok now the hard part is getting friends
