Wow, this fixed all the sound issues I was having. Zac sounds great now and Got sounds much better. Its amazing these settings are not on by default, but maybe they will be now. Thank you for posting this fix! I was super disappointed when I played my machine for the first time. I had my machine pulled apart trying to identify the issues. The best I could do was adding some double sided tape to better adhere the At Games logo plastic/plexi on the control panel to the fiberboard surface. This reduced some of the issue but didn't totally eliminate it. I'll be making the changes in the video as soon as I can get back to my machine!
So here is the state of things on my ALP now. I replaced the exciters with the most popular Dayton pair, mounting them to the sidewalls under the flipper buttons -- big improvement, but not a true fix. As others have noted, volumes are inconsistent between the table packages. I installed the VIBS switchboard and added an 8" monitor between the speakers as a DMD. Until AtGames really fixes the issue I am using the ALP exclusively in OTG mode. It's a super machine in that respect, and I have hundreds of games to enjoy. The PC's audio is channeled to external powered speakers sitting underneath the cabinet and sounds spectacular. I will not be buying any additional table packages from AtGames as long as the audio problem is unaddressed. Why put more cash into games I cannot fully enjoy when I have so many great tables that are 100% fun? Once the sound is fixed I will think about getting the Zaccaria 5 combo and the upcoming Taito games, but for now the onus is on AtGames to get their product right.
It's not perfect but definitely much better. A better fix would be getting the control panel replacement or an exciter mod but this should do the trick until you decide what you want to do next

I used electrical tape and taped all of the plexiglass to the wood on the control panel. That really helped a lot. Why the exciters are adhered to the plexiglass is weird. It's acting like a snare drum. Thank you so much for the settings. I can't wait to try it out. I'm also going to glue the plexiglass to the wood as well. I'll probably also build a bracket that will move the exciters, in the same spot, but screw them into the wood to make them more stable. Great video! Got mine yesterday and was so disappointed with the exciters.
I tried securing the plexi to the mdf control panel as well as leveling it out with felt tape and no good results. Once I secured the front lock bar it actually sounded worse. That's why I kept after Atgames for a fix. Let me know if you notice a difference and thanks for watching!

That's great. If you find the Zac tables a little too low try a global volume setting of 90, 20 and 1. This was a suggestion from someone in the comments and it's sounds good as well
I couldn't find a solution that worked all that well, so I went ahead and unplugged the exciters like you were planning. Not a great fix but at least the audio sounds "normal" for the time being.
@@AkitaAkimbo Well, I also jammed a few small craft pom-poms (five or six?) that my wife had lying around and stuffed them into the exciter holes and taped the holes over with a cut index card - secured it all with packing tape. @@show-me-retro ty veryyyyyyy much for your quick response!!!! Is there a setting on the pinball to adjust haptics? And what are haptics? Lol. Ty again Ps I don’t have any social media
@@williamtinney569 So, the haptics are what give you the feel of Pinball. Like every time the ball hits a bumper etc. Since it's not actual pinball, those moving parts are not there so Atgames is using exciters to simulate that feeling. Solenoids would do the same thing but unfortunately they aren't an option yet unless you are a more experienced modder. To increase the level of haptics for the tables, load a game and go to the settings menu. Tab over until you see toggle haptics and adjust ro your liking. But again, please refer to my newer video for a better compromise for sound. Also, don't hesitate to play around with different sound levels in the table settings menu and find a better combination that works best for you. Hope this helps
@@show-me-retro ty again for your help. I appreciate it very very much I’m going to try a Bluetooth sound bar and try to get some big time sound going. But I hope that approach works. Ty again So if you shut off the haptics the buzzing will stop?
Some of these audio videos are from almost a year ago and yet ATgames hasn't made any improvements. Being that they have ship in waves either they aren't listening or don't care. I got mine week and a half ago. Still same issue. If they had to recall like automakers do bet they get off their ass and fix it ASAP. If it is the exciters they need to ship news on to ALL of us. But post below said new ones didn't fix it completely either. SO what is the issue. Location of them, quality of them, what. Thanks for the video.
I received my legends pinball I put it together sound and vibrations was superb on day 2 , I was playing an noticed that the back glass monitor was just showing atgames writing on the monitor above for a lot of games then it would work again after about 45 seconds then few minutes later I was having the exact same issue you were having in this video I noticed my USB icon by the internet by the speaker icon was not showing I plug it back up then it showed then goes out but I was still able to play zacaria games I had my USB plugged into the 3.0 slot by the HDMI so I unmounted it through the settings and remounted it in the 2.0 slot beside I didn't reboot it or anything just mounted it and all the Extremely Loud Vibrations through the heptics I guess they call it that went away and sounded perfect as if I just put it together yesterday. I was noticing that my usb icon kept disappearing by the internet icon hopefully atgames will see it and perform and update I only had maybe total 3hrs for 2days worth of play when this started happening so that's the approach I done and it seemed to work and a lot easier
Got my ALP table this week, updated firmware immediately and..major buzzing. Especially from the Gottleib tables. I applied this fix and it's better, but kind of a drag to have to adjust music volume on every Zac table manually. I contacted atgames and they told me to send photos of the problem, my receipt, etc. Kind of a lot of hassle for what I know they know is a known issue. Seems like the Gottleib tables sound mix is just way distorted and is a much easier software than hardware fix. I how they do that fix eventually. The product is otherwise terrific.
Yes, it's unfortunate that the desired the exciters is just plain bad. There are ways to swap them for 3rd party ones or just buy the control panel which has a better design from what I hear
@@show-me-retro I've got new exciters on the way. I'm generally okay with modding my stuff, but I prefer it to be out of fun than necessity. The ALP gives you a lot for your money, but $850 is still $850, you know?
The 40, 25, 3 trick didn't work for me. I am getting more and more upset with my recent purchase with every game I play. The buzzing is annoying and the haptic feedback is a joke anyway. How in the hell did this pass the QA/QC process? If I can't find a fix, I'm disconnecting the "exciters". And lastly, how did this machine get so many glowing reviews? Are these isolated incidents?
I have a Force Haptic option on mine off/on and then when I go to a table after changes it asks to re calibrate the accelerometer. Don't even know what that is lol
Yes, I have filled out a support ticket. Yes, it came with the Zaccaria table packs 1-4. I knew nothing about at games or this product. I came across it at Sam's on an endcap. They had the pinball game setup but there was no power so I could not see or try it. I love pinball games. One of my reasons for not owning one was they are very expensive and big and bulky. I just took a chance that this would be a great buy! I'm a little weary when there is no phone number for at games and they only offer a 30 day warranty. It will suck if this just becomes a expensive paper weight. I can do your UA-cam fixes no problem, I'm just a little concern that this issue is all over the internet and it seems like at games isn't doing anything about it. It will be hard for me to tell my friends to buy this pinball machine and then tell them by the way you need to open it up and stick double sided tape and a big nut on the exciter speakers. How come at games them selves have not made a you tube video addressing this issue and a fix? I was curious if you know what speakers are in the arcade control panel? I would like to purchase this and was wondering if that would fix this problem?
I would first suggest going on the Atgames Family FB support page and message them with your ticket number. As far as Atgames not doing anything, I believe personally it's a design flaw combined with software problem of how the sound is routed to the speakers. I agree you shouldn't have to add nuts and tape to your new cabinet but I still don't regret buying mine because with a little tinkering it can be a lot of fun. I play mine daily and the main reason for that is global leaderboards. If you're not happy with by all means return it, but don't think Atgames is gonna come up with a fix or send out new control panels anytime soon. Again you could also unplug the exciters or replace them all together but it depends on your skill level and how much more time and money you want to spend
I have also tried them on facebook. It makes me suspect when a company doesn't have a customer support phone number! Maybe if I reach out to the BBB and file a complaint that they are selling a defective item I will then hear from at games. With a defect like this, only die hard fans are going to go thru this trouble to fix this problem. How does at games plan to stay in business and sell this pinball game and not fix the sound issues? I would think they would reach out to the customers A.S.A.P and fix the problem then for the customer to return the product.

Ty again
Ps I don’t have any social media
I appreciate it very very much
I’m going to try a Bluetooth sound bar and try to get some big time sound going. But I hope that approach works.
Ty again
So if you shut off the haptics the buzzing will stop?
I’ve been trying to find out where the blue tooth option even is on the settings and machine. Is there a Bluetooth option?
Very helpful vid. Thank you!
This worked for me, thank you!
Awesome, glad I could help!
Thank you so much! These changes are perfect
There is an updated video that is easy and sounds even better
@@show-me-retro I'll check it out!
Thanks fixed my sound issue
Awesome, glad I could help
Sure solved my problem. Thank you.
Can you provide the support tech you talked to? I have a major issue with my table and support isn't replying to my emails. Thanks!
Do you have a case number? If you can give me that case number I can forward it to them directly
Mines doing the same..thanks a bunch for the info👍👍👍
Awesome, let me know the results!
I totally agree. But honestly it's hard to get something with similar specs at that price for less or I have one
Thank you!
Absolutely!
For me it’s not the exciters , it’s speaker buzz. Is there a fix for that ?
awesome THX!!
Please refer to my latest sound fix... this method is no longer necessary
I have a Force Haptic option on mine off/on and then when I go to a table after changes it asks to re calibrate the accelerometer. Don't even know what that is lol
The accelerometer is the nudge sensitivity
Setting the music to a value that low makes it so you cannot hear any music.
I have an updated video
I would think they would reach out to the customers A.S.A.P and fix the problem then for the customer to return the product.
any better with the joystick/trackball panel?
Unfortunately I haven't taken the plunge and purchased it yet
Fixed it for me!
Nice! Glad I could help
The problem is that with these settings the Zac tables are so quiet it’s unplayable.
This does help in my opinion
@@show-me-retro yes for the built in tables it does. And there is no buzz on the Zac tables either but man the volume is so incredibly low I have to override the default settings for every table I play.
I’m having an issue where the audio is very soft. It was normal until today. Now I can barely hear it even with volume up
Check your settings... some games I've noticed switched to lower than the 40,25,3. Double check those global settings first
@@show-me-retro after watching your video something clicked, when I was navigating the menus before choosing a table I hit the volume buttons on machine and it was set pretty low somehow. Pretty bad UI honestly. Volume buttons in menu , settings and in game all different. Should be a global volume but you have to turn it up manually on machine before starting a table. Luckily I'm pretty good at problem solving and your video got me thinking lol
@@avaforlife4141 Good to hear
I tried these settings and I still get a lot of buzzing. I'm probably going to pull it apart and to confirm it's even assembled correctly.
It should have reduced the buzzing considerably, especially the Zac tables
@@show-me-retro I was hoping so, but Gladiators and Genie are terrible, even with the settings changes. I don't have the Zaccaria tables; I was actually hoping that since I got it today and it was $999 I would get them but sadly, no.
@@brianq103 what wave are you? Anyone after wave 5 at least I thought got the Zac tables built in to the cost...
@@show-me-retro I honestly don't know. I'm in Canada, so I don't know. It is a new build, based on the setup of the back glass, but since we can't seem to order directly from AtGames, I have no clue what wave, etc this unit might be since it was bought through a retailer here. I ordered the unit May 6th of this year.
Ahhh, yeah if you were in wave 6 or higher it was called Pinball plus directly from Atgames and the "PLUS" meant you got the 122 Zac tables at a reduced price than buying them separately. I would contact Atgames though and try to get that squared away. But you'd still have some messed up sound. There are some hardware solutions others have had success with ifvthat helps
Thanks seems good sofar I had to turn my celloromter off because table kept wanting the tilt this may have helped a bit these settings and setting my celloromter to 10 so far seems ok.
I also did an updated sound fix video that works better but it really only works on the stock control panel
@@show-me-retro awesome thanks ill look for that now🙏👍 really appreciate the help by the way if you have to choose one arcade one up pinball or this at games which one would you choose?
@@jimedd2561 definitely ALP. However I am not a fan of the styliing Atgames chose for this cabinet vs the 1up but at the end of the day this is a better buy because of all it can do like adding a control panel, pc, run coinops etc and the 1080p 32" screen is far superior
@@show-me-retro good to know cuz I almost bought an arcade1up pinball but I saw this on sale at Sam's Club for 399.99 just had to.. honestly I'm pretty surprised how sturdy this thing is
@@jimedd2561 it's nice but that backbox is soo small compared to the rest of the cabinet and looks very odd but that's not enough to NOT make me recommend it
I have more pressing problems than buzzing. The small buzzing I can live with, but I am having problem with the sound drop off. After updating the firmware, the sound is loud which is good. But the next day, I can hardly hear the game at the same settings as before. The sound coming out is barely at whisper levels. Master volume, FX, and Music volume all at 50, I hear whisper volume. Anyone having this problem?
That is strange... I've only noticed that on a few Zac tables where the volume levels are all maxed or set very low and for some reason didn't carry over in the default change
@@show-me-retro Thanks for the reply. I reached out to Tampa Tec (I’ve seen him fixing pinballs), and he suggested unplugging the power for a minute. It worked, sound is all back to normal when I switched it on.
@@reyrey4261 Nice, hopefully it doesn't return LOL
This machine was all stock haven't upgraded it yet
Atgames will never do anything with issues I’ve had because I bought it through Sam’s club
Told me that the warranty is not covered
Unbelievable at best
That's why I ended up selling mine
My haptics don't work at all i just bought it. It worked for like a minute farted and then no more
Where did you but it? If Sams just do a return but if online your only option is contacting customer support. It sucks, I know
@@show-me-retro bought from at games. We don't have sam's club in NYC afik. Not worth sending it back but wish I knew what was wrong.
@@aharonfernandez6359 they have a separate Facebook page for warranty repairs, just keep at it and they will eventually respond
They just need to release a solenoid kit
I agree, hopefully it's on the way soon as promised but I'm happy with this fix until then

I sold mine fall of last year. I can't imagine what could be the issue but I strongly recommend joining the official and unofficial ALP Facebook group. There are many knowledgeable people that could help with that problem.
