Hey @SuperCatlover7777! It's great that you're considering incorporating iodine and dandelion tea into your routine. Both have potential benefits for digestive health. Chia seeds are also known for their fiber content, which can aid in regular bowel movements.
Hi! I came back to see if the link for the chia seed pudding was fixed. Sadly the link takes us to amazon to buy chia seeds. Would you please fix it when you have time? Thanks!
@timshel011 That's great to hear that you're trying to give up coffee and substituting it with dandelion tea! Dandelion tea can be a flavorful and caffeine-free alternative that offers its own unique benefits.
I add 1 teaspoon of Chia seeds to my smoothie every morning. It has greatly improved my bowel movements frequency. However, I will now add the dandelion tea to my regimen to make BMs even more frequent.❤😊
Hi Melissa I hope you don't mind... but for those of us who can't find the recipe on the Amazon link she must've accidentally gave us.. I was looking up some chia pudding recipes online and the easiest idea I've come up with is to buy some chai tea, I buy a version of chai from celestial seasonings, I think it's called Bengal spice. Steep the tea & mix with any milk you prefer (almond, cashew, etc) at a sweetener if you like (maple syrup, monk sugar, stevia, honey, etc) then measure around 1/4c of chia seeds to every 2cups of liquid. Hope that helps 😅
@beat4224 Hi there! Thank you for sharing your alternative idea for making chia pudding. It sounds delicious and I appreciate you providing a solution for those who couldn't find the original recipe. Using chai tea as a base for the pudding and adding your preferred milk and sweetener is a creative approach. The Bengal spice version from Celestial Seasonings sounds like a flavorful choice. Mixing it with almond, cashew, or any other milk you prefer adds creaminess to the pudding. Your suggested ratio of 1/4 cup of chia seeds to every 2 cups of liquid is a good starting point. Chia seeds absorb liquid and expand, creating a pudding-like consistency. Adjustments can be made based on personal preference, whether you like it thicker or thinner. For anyone interested, this alternative method can be a convenient way to enjoy chia pudding without a specific recipe. Experimenting with different flavors and combinations is part of the fun! Thank you again for sharing this helpful suggestion. If you have any more ideas or questions, feel free to let me know.

The interaction between iodine and thyroid medications can be complex, and your healthcare provider can help you determine the appropriate iodine intake to ensure your thyroid health remains stable. Always seek personalized advice from a medical professional for your specific situation.
It's a good question! Chia seeds are generally well-tolerated by most people with diverticulitis because they're high in fiber and can help regulate digestion. However, it's always a good idea to listen to your body and start with small amounts to see how you personally respond.
Hahaha! When you said "Hi Daisy, wanna say hi?".....I was expecting you to pick up a Chihuahua or small doggie! Beauty of a girl is your Daisy!!! I had a similar looking one named Bogey - they would have hit it off! Been doing Chia seeds (on and off) for years, was taking Nascent Iodine (on and off - so just ordered your Lugol recommendation) and have a lot of Dandelion Tea which I bought hoping to bring my husband's BP down! (Need to start taking that regularly - sluggish activity I need to perk up!) Thanks Dr. Melissa!!! ❤
Thanks for the great info! I was wondering if I understood the iodine suggestion…do we add the iodine to the tea? I was putting it on my skin to absorb but adding it to the tea would be so much simpler! Also, I have Lugol’s but it’s a different brand. Does that matter?
You're welcome, @janisallred7222! I'm glad you found the information helpful. Regarding the iodine, yes, you can add it directly to the tea. It can be a more convenient way to incorporate it. As for the brand, using Lugol's should be fine, even if it's a different brand. The key is to ensure it's a high-quality iodine supplement. Keep up the great work, and if you have more questions, feel free to ask!
I have chia seeds, but haven't used them regularly. But I love the idea of a chia seed pudding desert. I also have iodine drops to take daily (when I remember).
I have dandelion in a supplement. I do chia seed once in a while in a smoothie. I'll try chia pudding as a dessert and definitely ordering those iodine drops.

Hey @michaelvandorn2756! Thank you for sharing your perspective on how gut issues and bowel movements are discussed in videos. I understand that using proper medical terms can provide a more professional and informative tone. However, content creators often choose to use more casual or relatable language to connect with a wider audience, including those who may not have a medical background. It's a way to make health-related topics more accessible and approachable for people of all ages and backgrounds. Nevertheless, it's important to strike a balance between being relatable and providing accurate information. Your feedback is valuable, and I'll make sure to keep it in mind for future content. Thanks for the good shit! I l;ook forward to trying chia seed and dandelion tea to help me with my chronic constipation.I have been on pain pills for two years and their side effect is constipation. I take opioids so I can function with Lumbar Stenosis, but the constipation is almost as bad as the pain!!! Freaking measurable I am.I sure hope this works, thank you! Oh, do you have any opinion about using honey and lemon in the tea?

Will chia seeds be a problem for diverticulitis?

Can kids 5-10 take Dandelion tea??
Yes, kids aged 5-10 can safely consume dandelion tea in moderation.
Warm prune juice works very well.
Absolutely agree!!
That's what we were always given. But the hydration of the soaked chias will be so beneficial to the gut flora
Absolutely. Prune juice is bit as finer dense.
