Bandai: Our Primaris Marines will be pre-painted, limited run, 100 dollar figures. Pre-order while you can. McFarlane: Twenty bucks, paint it yourself. Go crazy.
bandai probably intended to make a model kit out of it, don't think they will now considering it'd probably cost twice as much as this figure. then again, warhammer collectors aren't exactly known for being stingy so who knows, we might get that too.
@@TommyWashow looks at forgeworld * yeeeah... but jokes aside I think many would enjoy a model kit space marine, would be easier to customize down to the joints and knowing bandai's level of color separation techniques it'd probably even be a breeze to paint.
The $20 price is a surprise, even tho now, around Xmas 2020, the cheapest you can find it is around $36 on Amazon. The leg pose-ability is a bit limited by the hip pads and the ankles don't move much at all either. I'd love to see a weapons or Battle-gear pack with Flamers, Knife, Grenades, Melta-guns or any of the other canon Warhammer 40k gear. There are so many possibilities for this line, let's hope don't drop the ball...
It's fucking crazy that this guys is cheaper than ALL Primaris characters in miniature form. Can't help but think that GW might have subsidized this toy.
Really like the "miniature" turning mine actually into a space wolve and gonna paint him tomorrow live on stream. And I totally agree with you, will ake the McFarlane one any day over the Bandai one.
I know nothing about the game ..... but I bought this figure because it just looks intense....and it’s grey base..... perfect to customize... the possibilities are endless..... I don’t think McFarlane will finish the line ... he’s too involved in Spawn and multiple Batman figures.
This is way better than the Bandai one and at a quarter of the price, u can have 5, yes 5 of these for one of the Bandai. Its a no brainer plus this is taller as well.
Nobody in their right mind will keep these bad boys in the package. Let it kill some some Necrons. Definitely going to pick up the Nun. Please do a Custodes, Grey Knight, Chaos, Aeldari and Tyranid.
Strange, the one I got came with a scope attached to the bolter. Do you think there was a different "wave" of these guys that had slightly different bolt rifles?
Owning both the Bandai and Mcfarlane versions. Mcfarlane hands down made a better quality figure, the Bandai version feels like it’s a model kit, flimsy cheap thin plastic.
For something so expensive, that's disappointing to hear. I wish Storm had the license so they could do it Justice as a higher-price figure, but also perfectly happy with McFarlane right now.
I think the underestimated how popular this line would be, Bandai did the same thing with their first release. I hope they increase some numbers for the next runs.
It is cool that people can custom paint this figures but I myself prefer them to paint the figures since im not much of a painter, I hope they give a painted version of this figure and also the other colour marines
mostly hard plastic, the side skirts and the belt are slightly rubberized but not so flexible that they will ruin your paintjob, just don't force them into extreme bends and you can just treat them like solid plastic.
Not easily. You can boil the figure in hot water and that should make the pieces mostly come out, but some of them I think are going to be harder than others. It's not impossible to do a sub-assembly paint-job, but it's also not going to be easy.
@@ReviewThings I will have to try it for myself if I get another im willing to open. I want to paint one but I also like it just the way it is right now and don't want to mess up the figure if its going to be difficult to put it back together.
Head, Shoulder pads,m arms and legs, body and hip armour, the rest I'm very hesitant to take apart, but it is enough for an okayish paint job with the airbrush. If you're interested I've actually added some greenstuff and am turning one into Spacewolve, sharing pics of that on my Instagram and will paint him on twitch live 3pm GMT UK Time, Sunday.
Do you know a good souse on how to swap them? The leg of mine popped off second day I had it, and I can't get it back on. I can do my best to line it up with the peg thats sticking out of the pelvis but trying to apply any preasure just turns the joint of the leg away from there rather than having it socket in. I've been trying for about 2 hours, and its to the point where the plastic at the top of the leg is starting to get ratty from all the stress I'm putting it under.
@@evelynlamoy8483 I had the same trouble.... sink the problem parts into warm water (under boiling temp) for a minute or so and try again... hope it works out... I was shitting myself when I did the same but it did work out...
@@empathicparadox6041 Thanks. I was actually able to get the leverage to reatach the leg but only after removing the torso, and I couldn't get the torso back on until I soaked it in warm water. Since Space Marines are around 7 ft. tall it's more in scale with Marvel Legends sized figures.
Super excited that Mcfarlane is planning on releasing more figures. Hoping for some Orks!
I really like this especially how its the same price as a squad of marines and in option provides much more

Either I will turn this into a dark angel or deathwatch dark angel
I hope you do one for the sisters one as well. Parts are made of an odd rubber.
As far as heads I' be satisfied with a Fenris pattern helm.
My only big complaint is I can't have a standard marine helmet. I like my box stormtrooper helm...
