That petrified wood fireplace is so interesting and unique. I love it. Love the bar too. That outside area off the bathroom was probably a sun deck. So much potential for this home but I do feel they should have preserved the original mid century style from the 60s and 70s.
The remodels and updates essentially removed all of the original warmth and 1960’s charm. The elevator story was priceless! Good luck on selling Jerry’s home.
I met Jerry back in the 70s when I was being deployed to Korea. Him and another guy were sitting in the San Francisco Airport bar, and being a fan I introduced myself and stuck out my hand for a shake. Petrified wood surrounding home chimneys in the 60s was quite common. I grew up in a 60s house my parents purchased. It still had the petrified wood chimney design.

By all accounts the rat pack did not hang out in that house. Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis weren’t speaking at that time in the 1960’s and they had very little interaction until 1976 when Sinatra did that reunion on the MDA Telethon. Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. really didn’t hang out with Jerry Lewis and I doubt they both went to that house when Sinatra had giant suites at the hotels he was performing in. Like I said lots of interesting people I’ve met and worked with living all those yrs in Vegas.
I love the old photos of how it was when Jerry had it, but it would look way better less cluttered, but that was kind of the style back then. The new look is too sterile, but I'm sure whoever buys it can warm it up with cozy furniture, textures, and homey decor. On the bathroom patio, I would definitely add lots of pots of trees, plants, and vines. A fountain and some outdoor lighting, maybe a Jacuzzi, would really be wonderful!! Too much concrete makes it look like a hospital! Thank you for sharing this treasure, even though Jerry Lewis was a terrible person. He was talented, and the house is awesome! It's actually historical, in my opinion.
If Jerry designed that house he was drunk when he did it. Ye gads all those mirrors! Horrible. I loved him when I was a kid but as an adult I read and heard ( from his sons )he was a nasty man. Can't watch any of his films anymore. The highway probably wasn't there when the house was originally built. I do admire that it has been well kept.
I like the way it looked before the remodel as far as the real wood cabinets and panels. I didn't catch weather the kitchen and adjacent room was already open concept or not before, but I I like it open. If I could afford to buy this home I would make some changes to the upstairs bathrooms and closets. I would turn one of the rooms into theater room with part of it in honor of Jerry and his movies. I would love to furnish each room according to what I want each room to be. ❤ And yes I can't forget the outside, endless possibilities.

Well Martian and Jerry did make up, after 20 years later, due to Frank getting back together. So I heard he visited Jerry there at his house. I use to work in Vegas doing the shows, in the 70's and 80's. Sammy Davis jr went there all the time, with Frank too after the shows. Jerry was not part of the rat pack, but they came to his house!
That house is in the old upscale "Scotch 80" neighborhood in Las Vegas, at the corner of Waldman Avenue and Ormsby Street. That group of buildings to the left of that house is the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Station 10. And what I mean about being 'old upscale' is that much of the old-money of Las Vegas residents live in that neighborhood, including the husband and wife mayors of Las Vegas, the Goodmans.
I know I Love the upstairs bookcases. I have my own casita as well. Plus you are so right about the yard. I definitely needs some changes to make it more modern
I will put the red carpet back in. I would never change anything, if I bought it back in 2021 . He died in 2017 at his home and was 91. He was living there until his death. I think the family sold it in 2018. Also SanDee Pitnick was his wife too and died in 2017, she lived there too with him.
Hey Great Video love the Older Homes Myself !! Especially in the historic district as a kid always loved those homes on Okey ! And love the photos of the original decor and Jerry Lewis's house more than the Updated , like someone else commented in total agreement
Nowadays, a yard sale is an estate sale... the local adult school is a university.. The corner Vietnamese manicurist place is a spa... The SUV taxi is a limousine. Any minor news is now Breaking News.
It’s a shame they went in and remodeled it. Made it just look like any run of the mill house. The character was totally sucked out of it. Gosh… what were they thinking?
Jerry showed off this house a few years before he died.I think it was the TV show 20/20....I still remember all the red carpet that stood out. The living room area is really nice, I would decorate in mid century modern furniture, get rid of all the mirrors, paint the outside brick, I hate red 🧱 brick. The Casita I would make it a theatre room and keep as an office.
Wow ... a beautiful home. If I could by this home I would return it to it's glory - add lots of colors and big comfy furniture. I would rip out the Kardashian kitchen and add install a kitchen more fitting to this beautiful home. ( The house is traditional, needs a traditional style kitchen with traditional style furniture )
Brother before I Read the thumbnail I thought this was a house I tried to buy around 2004 I believe around 650000 needed a lot of work had out properties was around 6000 square feet😮
So, no comments on envisioning Jerry naked in the sauna and shower, in the room of mirrors? This house is a mess. It doesn’t even have ‘location’ going for it
A lot of the “weird” stuff was my favorite parts! I really liked the old Jerry Lewis till I found out he was not very nice. Still a fan of the Rat Pack though! This house has history.
The 60's was a different vibe. Remember: you could smoke in Hospitals, Airplanes, Restaurants and the house was indeed part of that time. The price is right for the nostalgic feel with a few minor tweaks for the new owner.
Nice house, would have liked to have seen more of the original kitchen and baths. Should have kept the paint colors. The 'modernization' is pretty bad. Its a mixture of the past and present and does not fit. That deck with the floating tub was for nude sun tanning. The mirrors in the closest was for getting dressed and being able to look at a 360*
My favorite part is the AMAZING petrified wood fireplace. Would love to know where and HOW he got that. The property has no curb appeal in the front and the backyard views are zero. It is probably very noisy with traffic. I wouldn't buy it. I would just KEEP the petrified wood!!
I love this house , old houses are built with the best materials, the new houses are built very cheaply, if I could afford it I would keep it the same way Jerry had it. ❤❤❤
Pictures were shown back when Jerry Lewis lived here, so it was HIS style....He was a comedian so duh, his taste were fun.. Thus guy could off left off the odd comments as they are his opinions. Things were different long ago. We all have our own likes and dislikes.. This is how it was remodeled...
The house isn't really "weird", it's just very unique, a residence to a unique personality so it's fitting. I'm obsessed with vintage so I'd actually redo the decor. My theme would actually be pink, ultra-feminine OLD-SCHOOL Hollywood glam.
Awesome Home and Tour. Love the huge amount of Outdoor Space. Put 2 Million in more remodelling and you have a Property for under 5 Million in perfect location 😁
You just kind of glossed over the chandelier, but $200,000 in 1964 is equivalent to $2,029,290 today. So Jerry spent a chunk of change in the day for that lighting fixture. That's more than the house is now selling for at $1,699,999 as a foreclosure.
This guy is so empty headed that he couldn't give us the current value of the gorgeous fixture. So thanks for that. And to him, everything in this 60s home was weird. His vocab matches his intellect, empty.
There needs to be a theme in the house, it kind of gave me a headache just too much of weird! This home could be preserved, but it needs a lot of work.
I love the swimming pool. My boyfriend, who was a stone mason, built a swimming pool with a stone slide in North Carolina. I would lie and say that it was influenced by Jerry's pool but the internet wasn't that great back then.
looks like someone with bland mc mansion taste did a partial and marginal remodel. too bad, the original pics showed a high end classic interor with a warm feeling
First time watching 1 of your videos and i have to say you are a fabulous narrator. My favorite part of the house was the kitchen so big i thought of the dishes i could make in that kitchen.👍👍💖
I would take down some of those mirrors and bookcases who has that many books and who wants to look at yourself as you get older unless he had a lot of models walking around swimming and he liked to see him in the mirrors . And I would make the kitchen a little more homey it looks like something in outer space.

Like I said lots of interesting people I’ve met and worked with living all those yrs in Vegas.
The horrible remodel ruined the Character of the home. What a shame.
Yes ! ! ! It transformed the historical and culturally significance of the house into a large "Marriot" suite ! ! !
I know this was built in the '60s, but from the outside it looks like a Motel 6, lol.
Yup looks just like a motel 6...yuk
I basically like the house. Even with the upgrades. I just think the outside needs some Curb appeal. Nicer landscaping or something to warm it up.
I had to laugh at myself that I was taking the dis of Jerry’s house personally lol😂
Haha! Me, too!
He wasn't part of The Rat Pack, and was said to be a jerk...
PROVE IT that He was a Jerk, PROVE IT
@@donnadreyer4516his family has said it many times that he was very abusive

@@donnadreyer4516 Oh, dry up. I worked in Hollywood 35 years back in that era and he WAS. Now prove you can shut your mouth about something you know nothing about.
dean martin didn't want jerry around since their split in 1958. Rat Pack (sinatra, dean, sammy jr) were never there. That's a beautiful house!
Agree, Jerry was not a part of the Rat Pack.
1956
Well Martian and Jerry did make up, after 20 years later, due to Frank getting back together. So I heard he visited Jerry there at his house. I use to work in Vegas doing the shows, in the 70's and 80's. Sammy Davis jr went there all the time, with Frank too after the shows. Jerry was not part of the rat pack, but they came to his house!
I thought that too
@brentcooper4345 but sammy and frank were always with dean. There was no room for JERRY, even when nobody hated him. Frank's true friend, was Dean
I would love to see it the way Jerry had it decorated!❤️
Love the video. Please do more vintage famous homes in Las Vegas.
SanDee is still alive.
Hey Great Video love the Older Homes Myself !! Especially in the historic district as a kid always loved those homes on Okey ! And love the photos of the original decor and Jerry Lewis's house more than the Updated , like someone else commented in total agreement
It's a shame it was so close to the highway, dang :(
I am not sure why people now days call a house this size a Mansion, when it's not by definition.
Nowadays, a yard sale is an estate sale... the local adult school is a university.. The corner Vietnamese manicurist place is a spa... The SUV taxi is a limousine. Any minor news is now Breaking News.
@@dans9463 Exactly my point!
It’s a shame they went in and remodeled it. Made it just look like any run of the mill house. The character was totally sucked out of it. Gosh… what were they thinking?
I don't like the updates of a vintage home.
Sell to someone from France, They Love him more than we do!😇
😂
Wow ... a beautiful home.
If i bought it then i would return it to original Jerry Lewis style!
What a fun walkthrough- loved the "back in the day" pics too.
The house looked much better when Jerry owned it
So, no comments on envisioning Jerry naked in the sauna and shower, in the room of mirrors? This house is a mess. It doesn’t even have ‘location’ going for it
I typically love old homes. Either update or leave it alone. Somebody half azzed it and messed it up. I wouldn't even want that pile of junk.
It looks like a fancy office building.
A lot of the “weird” stuff was my favorite parts! I really liked the old Jerry Lewis till I found out he was not very nice. Still a fan of the Rat Pack though! This house has history.
.....except for the fact that Jerry Lewis was NOT in the Rat Pack .
@@urbanurchin5930 he had them in the house visiting. Watch the video.
The mirrors in the closest was for getting dressed and being able to look at a 360*
Loved the back then pics .. perspective .. somebody will come in and redo more! Just don’t let some of the old go! Love and light!
I'd take it back to the original as much as possible.
I can imagine the highway noise.
Obviously, Jerry had the same taste in architecture that he had in comedy.
Yup
My favorite part is the AMAZING petrified wood fireplace. Would love to know where and HOW he got that. The property has no curb appeal in the front and the backyard views are zero. It is probably very noisy with traffic. I wouldn't buy it. I would just KEEP the petrified wood!!
I like the red appliances
I love this house , old houses are built with the best materials, the new houses are built very cheaply, if I could afford it I would keep it the same way Jerry had it. ❤❤❤
It's not "Vintage", more like Tacky. Tear it down and build a 5-floor Parking Garage with the Elevator Jerry wanted.
Drinking game. Take a shot every time he says “weird “!
Back in the day, he would practice his comedy routine in front of those mirrors. Plus, mirrors were great for “romper rooms 😉”
Somebody please send this vid to Don & Mike they would go crazy to see inside Jerry Lewis house
Awesome Home and Tour. Love the huge amount of Outdoor Space. Put 2 Million in more remodelling and you have a Property for under 5 Million in perfect location 😁
I absolutely love the house & all the vintage they left in Jerry’s honor! If I had enough money for it I’d definitely invite guests over!
You can't expect a 60's house to be modern, I think it's gorgeuos
I really don’t find this weird at all. It’s a time capsule that was semi-ruined. 😢
I love the swimming pool. My boyfriend, who was a stone mason, built a swimming pool with a stone slide in North Carolina. I would lie and say that it was influenced by Jerry's pool but the internet wasn't that great back then.
So close to a freeway.
looks like someone with bland mc mansion taste did a partial and marginal remodel. too bad, the original pics showed a high end classic interor with a warm feeling
Great home, I loved the library area the house. I like the fireplace and bar too, this place has character! 😊
This is Elegant , Very Well Made
First time watching 1 of your videos and i have to say you are a fabulous narrator. My favorite part of the house was the kitchen so big i thought of the dishes i could make in that kitchen.👍👍💖
@@missbabbett9086 So glad you enjoyed the tour! Thank you for the kind words!
I would take down some of those mirrors and bookcases who has that many books and who wants to look at yourself as you get older unless he had a lot of models walking around swimming and he liked to see him in the mirrors . And I would make the kitchen a little more homey it looks like something in outer space.
That is a beautiful home. I bet it is built solid. Better built then what they are throwing up today.
Is it just me or does the exterior look more like an office building...and so close to the freeway...hmmm... 🙂
It looks like a Holiday Inn from that time ..:`
@@michauxbôts For sure...very corporate looking...not a personal residence...
Never Ever Take down an Iconic home like this. WHY WOULD ANYONE TEAR APART HISTORIC PROPERT'S!! THERE IS TO MUCH OTHER NEW PROPERTY TO BUY FOR INVESTMENT'S. PLEASE KEEP ALL ICON HOMES ALIVE
The floorplan doesn't make good sense to me. I do like the little bar area and the property the house sits on. That's about it.
I could only imagine a Jerry Lewis fan being interested in owning this home.
No fans anymore.
