So... filmed over about a week, I fit the first mods to the rig, still waiting on draws for the canopy. Thanks for having a look, you guys subscribing and leaving comments are the best on UA-cam! 🎉
Loving your mentality simple and practical but robust and no BS that’s what really wants to travel and work in Aus not 25k plus canopy with all other shit to go with it. By the way love your backyard mate nice red dirt and yellow grass
Thank you, mate! Yeah, that's it, and I agree I mean each to their own, but you don't need to buy all the shit and spend all the money in needless accessories.
Im new to your channel. But enjoying this content so far. Nice rig, nice build. I own 2023 LC Prado which I have done a few mods to it and gradually building it to suit my needs. Looking forward to more content from this channel. Your channel is like mine in a lot of ways, no stupid background music, no drama, just good old fashioned hands on build. Great stuff. You now have a new sub
First time I’ve ever commented on a YT vid, but just wanted to say good work on the video and build so far. The video isn’t over produced which is a nice change for once. I miss those top end storms too. Subscribed, and looking forward to more content. Cheers mate
Wow, thank you, mate! I really appreciate that feedback. It's very good to know. I don't like to get too crazy with these videos. I just do the do! Love the rain and storms here in the bush.
If you are going to put on an aluminium sheet, put some spacers underneath the sheet on top of the box, like a tropical roof, that used to work real well on a landrover i used to have. Wind and air gets underneath and the sun doesnt hit the roof of the box.
@@OutbackOffroadNT save me a fortune in glue and silicone and my dewalt batteries last longer it’s just some ally sheet painted white and some fat washers on the roof of my tradesman trailer underneath the roof rack
I’ve always found if you tape the cable to a coat hanger wire 1 inch from the sharp end and spray some wd40 on it, she’ll go straight through the grommet. My worst nightmare was always going through the firewall until I did this. Cheers from Darwin
Good tip mate, I actually taped a zip tie to the cable and poked it through the hole to try pull through, but the zip tie pulled off! Got there in the end though.
Just to be clear, you cut the side panel off a brand new LandCruiser, because you feel that black box will stay on there forever? Ok, you're clearly a multi millionaire. I'm driving a year 2000 Ranger! It did have a camper on it but that's gone. Hence why money is a thing for me. Anyway, if you're throwing away any later model cars let me know (only because the Ranger is a deathtrap Lol).
Don't be silly mate, I'm just modifying my rig the way I want it. I don't care what anyone else wants or thinks, I'm not like most others in that, this vehicle in the next 5 years will have roughly 4 to 500,000km put on it for work. It's a tool for me. Nothing wrong with your 2000 ranger mate. Have fun in it, I started out in a 92 2wd hilux, had more fun in that thing then I care to remember haha, cheers 🍻
I always put a piece of copper flyscreen down the back of the grill to protect the radiator / air con rad from rock & gravel strikes puncturing the tubes. I had a bit of gravel hit the radiator in my ute many years ago & the coolant pissed out the pin hole & left me on the side of the road with a boiling car.
Good point mate, I usually do have some installed in my rigs because of all the grass seed and what not, our roads are ok at the moment so there is no grass seed, however I may have to get onto that!
@@OutbackOffroadNT Check out the Superior Engineering front diff pumpkin protector too. If you check the wall thickness of the front diff pumpkin where the filler plug screws in it's not that thick and can be dented into the crown wheel by rock impact when off roading.

Loving the canopy man!
Thanks mate, yeah they are pretty nice mate, basic solid canopy.
I feel your pain mate, the firewall & I have had a few blow ups!
Bloody thing it is! Haha got there in the end though mate.
I can’t wait to see more, keep up the good work brother
What a legend! Thanks mate 👍
Great video mate looking forward for more to come thank you.
No worries at all, thankyou mate I'm glad your enjoying.

Gday, the canopy looks shit hot, I thought you were serious when you said the canopy was to big, nothing wrong with the video to mate, cheers
Hey man, awesome thanks mate! Yeah nothing like a bit of banter thrown in haha, I like the canopy to.
She’s looking good bro 👌
Thanks bro, I'm pretty happy with it aye.

Thankyou mate much appreciated! Good feedback to, how do you like the prado? I'll have to check your channel out 👍
As a former appliance delivery driver if you have to cut those straps again in the future it’s quicker and easier to cut at a downward angle.
what did the canopy set you back delivered to Alice mate? Looks awesome
I'm planning to do a full open vid soon on how much things cost haha

Nice
Yeah good onya mate. Awesome final product!
Thanks mate, I mucked around today as well to fit drawers and a couple other things.
@@OutbackOffroadNT Yeah sick. Cant wait to see it. 👍
Good job, I'll be running aerial cable same way. What about a solar panel on top ? Should be a good insulator and keep you're 2nd battery topped up.
Yeah mate not a bad way to do it in my opinion, definitely could do that with a solar panel, something to think about! Thanks
@@OutbackOffroadNT if you do solar, use shard panel not those thin stick ones. Renogy 100w is a good option, not expensive but good quality

Thankyou mate, it's a great idea, another fella said the exact same thing! I'll have to think seriously about this.
Ozito special from Bunnings, lol. All of my power tools are ozito
They go hard haha
That sounds like a V8. I thought they put the 2.8 in them now.
It is a v8, can get 2.8 also.
the canopy looks great on the cruiser mate! looking forward to seeing how you're going to set it up
Thanks mate! Yeah you know how it is, these things never end up finished, always changing something haha
Next modification - 4 inch exhaust
Maybe something one day mate, 3.5 inch torqit?
не забудь показать чем наполнишь этот бокс! отличная работа 🛻👌
Keep the vlogs coming mate it’s good shit
Good on ya mate, thankyou 👍
Put a tropical roof on the box a small air gap beats most insulation
Good tip mate, I'll have to look into that. Thanks!
@@OutbackOffroadNT a few washers between the sheets is all you need my work trailer got so hot 🥵 the liquid nails cooked off in the carton
Haha farout! So you put a tropical roof on your trailer? Big difference?

the canopy fits perfect, looks the part, the diff lock guard will do its job
Yeah it's turned out nice I reckon! It's a good size, not to big. The diff lock guard is solid.

Great job😊
Put a solar panel on top the gap between stops the heat i just put marine carpet in mine

TC boxes, I mentioned this in the vid a few times.
Good first mods. It's fit for purpose. 👍
Yeah definitely mate, I like to keep it relatively simple and logical.
Good shit mate - keep it up 👍
Awesome mate, thank you 👍
Great video bro nice rig
Thankyou mate, much appreciated 👍
