    I am SO HAPPY I found this again - I just wanted to say this video changed my life 4 years ago. I made myself so sick from trying to achieve someone else's vision for me I've been recovering on a fixed income for three years and counting. I have been in a safety net for so long, surrounded by things and people who make decisions for me. There's no Me in my life. I have been trying to find my potential and see where I can excel.But learning to be independent costs you.This video is the best example for me to actually do what I wanted to do, achieve it and start making decisions for myself.
    Thank you Jay ❤️

    • @bcandidvisuals
      @bcandidvisuals 6 років тому +6

      As the video says, "The pain of regret far outweighs the pain of risk." It's not easy to get out of your safety net and go into the unknown, but eventually I think everyone should break away from their comfort zones. It will help you grow as a person to be more independent and to grow as an individual. Decision making isn't easy, uprooting your life isn't either.. but once you leave that place and start living life for yourself, without the approval of others, you will find that it is the best taste of freedom you will ever know! It isn't easy, but it is SO worth it. Trust me. 1love!

    • @-A-c
      @-A-c 5 років тому +3

      @@Louise-js3bq I don't know what it is that you want to do but there ARE things you can put into practice Right Away to help you get going...
      Awareness is a good place to start.
      Awareness of your perceived flaws and weaknesses so that you know to concentrate on making your strengths stronger.
      If this is about a career change, answer these 4 questions (taken from Jay himself):
      What am I good at?
      What do I love?
      What does the world need?
      How do I get paid to do this?
      Find what intersects all of those questions according to your own feelings and past experiences that you found meaningful. Dig deep. And then act on it once you find the answer.
      "But what if I stumble? What if I make mistakes? What if I feel weak/pathetic/scared?" you ask. Then let these two good friends of mine be there for you when you do. Their names are:
      Forgiveness & Gratitude.
      Forgive yourself for the mistakes you made and will make getting to where you want to go because you are human.
      Forgive every person who treats you and will treat you badly for simply trying to get to where you want to go. And especially because they are human too.
      Think about what you are grateful for each day. Write them down. Try to make sure each one is new and different. Include every small gain you make towards your goal. Keep a record of all that you have written. Update it monthly. Read all that you wrote in previous months after finishing your latest update.
      If you choose to do these things, you will set yourself on a path towards that
      which you are passionate about. At the same time you will remind yourself that despite the troubles you encounter along the way, there is appreciation to be found in every small victory you make on your journey towards your destination. And you WILL get there.
      I hope that you do. There's only so much time in life to get what you truly want out of it. I'll end this by quoting something in the video that really stuck with me:
      "A winner is just a loser who tried one more time"
      Safe Travels.

    Enjoying the present, just chilling (being lazy) is a good thing or a bad thing?
    Because in your other video you motivated me to not waste my time. So I should work hard.
    But how can I enjoy the present by working hard?

      After HS, I went to trade school to do a job I thought my father would appreciate of me. Five years in, I found out I liked talking to the customers at the front of the store rather than doing the work in the back shop. I joined a company selling life insurance part time, after a while I left the trade and got a job in the financial world. Have moved to better jobs, now I work independently within a company and love what I do, pays well enough, work schedule is flexible. Don't have to be Oprah or the Rock or the Dali Lama, just become you. Its very possible to not get caught in the rat race. Next step is to develop a portfolio, set up a side business that will turn into my independent business. Then I will finally be free.

      Mickey Mania You need money to survive, true. But the question is how much will make you happy and feel satisfied ? The real answer is never ! Money is intoxicating. Leave it behind and be happy with the little money you can earn and the basic necessities it can fulfill.
      Learn to draw a line at basic needs and wants. And you'll see why this video is so true.
      I'm 20 years, worth 30 million dollars and now after I have achieved this I see I wasted my last 9 years working on something that dint make me happy.
      I now just take my dogs on world tours and Don't post it on social media. Bcoz I'm happy with the basics and I don't need to waste anymore Time on the wrong people and platforms

    what if everyone runs after their passion. then who will do the regular thing? these companies they dont run by themselves.
    i think balance is needed between this job r resting period. but not everyone has something to be passionate about.

    • @guillaumepoulin3522

      Of course everyone has things to be passionate about. Some haven't found it yet, some think they have but they don't, some may never will, but it's not fairt to say that. I have things I love and care about. Do I have things I'm passionate about? At this point in my life I don't think so, but I am searching for it and trying things. And you know what? sometimes it's an utter mess and I feel like I lost time, but other times, I found some things that I really love doing. Just keep looking, mate, I'm sure you'll find something that truly gets to you!

    It's all true , but in today's world it's nearly impossible to live of your passion unless you have saved enough money to live without income for some period of time, and what one must do to save enough money ? Right, get education and afterwards job in field that you really don't feel passionate towards, but in one that pays the most .... So don't get me wrong , I agree in the videos message , but to live the dream of yours is only impossible basically if money were no object .

      Your passion will feel like your "living"; rather than "working". Think back to when you were a kid, and what you really loved to do. Often times it's there but then we get off course and do what's safer, or makes more money, or what our parents want us to do, etc...

    • @michaeld.anderson2015
      @michaeld.anderson2015 6 років тому +1

      What is passion? If it is a feeling, then your "passion" will come and go, just like every other feeling. If by passion, you mean meaningful work, then go work for own mission or for someone else who shares your mission. Meaningful work = work that has a positive impact on others using your unique abilities.

    I love this type of stuff, but of all the billion people in the world can we all live like this??? That's the only gripe I have with these type of messages, the world has always been full of working people, and many had to be content with the work or job they've had, if not they would have ended up homeless. You know how many kids were left without father's because their father chased their dreams and ended up messed up. I'm not saying that many of us won't fullfill our dreams but many of us won't. You don't have to believe me just do the math and look at history. 1 percent of the world are rich, the other 99 percent are working class. I want to be successful, I want financial freedom, but if I don't achieve that until I'm 60 or 70 I want to be able to be content with what I have. These messages can depress certain people, everybodys not gonna take steroids like the Roc or get the opportunity that Ellen or Oprah got that's why they are exceptional.

    • @r.pinheiro549
      @r.pinheiro549 6 років тому

      Exactly! Oprah and these people also had to sell themselves to their banker ruler elites and they are not as random/lucky as we think they are. These people are mere tools to hypnotize and distract the masses.
      Also, this video is very unrealistic! This society is designs to keep us depressed and running sub par. Because if I wanted to chase my dreams and actually fulfill my happiness then I should leave my son with his father and go travel to Europe to find my husband right? Yeah my life would be 100% times better then, I can tell you that.

    It sounds beautiful, motivating and so on?...
    But there are a lot of hard situations. What if you don't know what you want to do? And even if you found your passion, what if you can't gain money doing it? A lot of people just don't have any specific interest or possibility to take money from doing their hobby. And so what? You are telling that everyone shouldn't work and be poor just because people mustn't do jobs they don't like? There are situations when people work not just to buy a new car or villa, but just to have something to eat!
    To the point, have you ever been just an average citizen of Russia? People are just trying to survive here.
    I don't blame you by telling that it's important to live in a moment and to enjoy life ...but so often such videos make me upset. There is so much injustice in the world when some just don't have a choice not to work...otherwise,they will die of hunger.

      TheVictoria211 it's hard to sleep in a bed under a roof, drive or travel to where you want to explore, feed and support your kids without some way of making money... most of us have jobs to make that money, but only the few have businesses doing what they love to help support what they want to do in life... I hear ya

      TheVictoria211 you right I was taking that he did not make the point. He have to be realistic as well, some people just won’t have the luck that other have. I think is important that we gave some net happiness, for examples hobbies, either the security for family and kids, leisure time with loved ones. There are so many small things that makes us happy and made us get through life. But, what I took well from his messages is that if he had a passion or hobby even with another unrelated job, we should at least follow it so you won’t regret it later.

      You're looking at the entire picture instead of the tiny steps it took to create it. My calling is music, but I didn't quit working on day 1 of my journey. I started out just buying a keyboard. Then, instead of vegging to the TV, I stayed up nights composing, experimenting. Over time, I bought a mic. Then a tiny mixer. Then mixing software. Then better speakers. And kept experimenting. This lasted for 5, 6 years, but was just a hobby. Eventually, my writings improved to a point of being "good". Then, I learned how to sing, and developed my voice. That was another 3-4 years before I could say it was "good". It was literally 10 years since buying that first keyboard that I took the leap of faith to quit my profession. That took a lot of saving and planning. And that is only half of my journey so far. Where I am now, I couldn't possibly have imagined 18 years ago when I was pushing that keyboard into my car.
      Just take one step. One. That's all he's really saying.

      The pain of regret is much worse than the short-lived pain of risk. Once you can live everyday doing what your passionate about, nothing will stand in your way to continue to do what you love. Its the very thing you think about everyday and can't wait to do that makes time fade away. Take the leap follow your passion.
