Ryobi P360 Airstrike 18ga Cordless Stapler Review

- Reviewing the new Ryobi P360 Airstrike 18ga stapler. This tool is mainly for quickly fastening thin sheet type materials onto wood. For example in this trailer project, I was using it to fasten up to 3/8" plywood onto 2X2 and 2X3 framing and some 1" structural plywood that supported the rear doors. The staples combine versatility, speed of application and a tightness (when the stapler is adjusted right) which is good enough to press glued pieces together so the blue will cure to a good strong bond. These kinds of staplers can also work well on semi-flexible thin wood and composite trim pieces like what you find in the RV industry. You generally will not use this in applications where the combined fastener penetration needed is over an inch.

8 years later I just bought one for $43 at the HD on the clearance end cap. Thanks for the review, couldn’t pass it up for that price.
It only took me 8 videos and about 20 minutes of wasted time before I found this video. Good video.
Nice review. The trailer looks like it's coming along nice. Ryobi is getting better and better.
This is something that`s not well known but it does work. This stapler will also fire brad nails quite easily. Just put them on one side of the magazine.
awesome tip!
Thank you, your review asked my questions I had about this tool.
This thing will go right through 5/8" Solid Oak. I was amazed to feel the staples on the other side sticking out. It wasn't even on high.. It also has a plunger that you just hold the trigger down and it will keep putting in staples till you let go of the trigger. Once it hits the depth gauge. It will shot stables.....
Great for fast assemble of glued joints in anything but 1/8" popular. Unless you use low setting and set the depth just right. Then you can hammer the rest down and trim anything that sticks out the other side with cutters. So be aware of the power this thing can put out.
Thanks! Honestly just watched his to learn how to load the staples ;p
Great review, thanks for the very helpful info.
Thanks for video, came in for a job at work👍
Thank you for the great explanation of the tools, especially its' uses. very helpful
Very helpful .
thanks for making the video
Great information
Helpful, Thanks!
Great video
Nice Job, Thanks
I have recently been using this on cedar fence boards with really good results. It is less likely to split the boards than larger screws or nails, and more likely to hold than with using thin head trim nails. It is not so good on Ikea furniture backs though - too much power.
Thanks. This was informative and helpful for me to choose.
Hi, excellent video may I ak you,do you think the crown stapler is ok going through 12mm birch ply? thanks in advance
That voice Crack thooo lol, great vid !
HiYa
Great video very helpful. Cheers! Just wondering would the stapler be ok for thin corrugated iron sheets? thanks
I think he may be no longer among the living...
I am looking for a cordless stapler to mount chicken wire to pine boards or plastic netting I have a urban farm on empty house lots I get around by bike so cordless is the only option for Me
I have some classic ryobi blue 18V cordless tools I don't mind swapping a single battery if it reduces the amount weight I have to peddle around
Walt, I'm not sure if you found a solution yet but Ryobi re-issued their 18V, 3/8" (T50) crown stapler. The model is P317.
Is the zrp360 a better stapler than the p360
Hey, over here,,, I want one.
I've heard this Ryobi P360 stapler will also shoot 18 gauge brad nails - but am not certain what lengths. Can anyone who knows for a fact share details?
Yes, but it jams a bunch. I buy the cheap dewalt ones though so maybe there is a hack for shooting nails. I’ve been shooting 1.5 inch nails
hey how is the brad naler now since u have used it a couple of mths?
It has done well, not used it in around a month, but so far, no jams. Far far better than the older dual purpose models which doubled as a brad nailer.
Was it new or refurbish
Raj Dann
New, they have not been on the US market long enough for any refurbished ones to be in circulation here.
How heavy is this tool compared to a regular air staple gun?
Its fatter, about twice the bulk even though the exterior measurements are about the same s an air stapler and the weight is not that far off when compared to an all metal air stapler. Just remember, there is no cord, and no air compressor.
8digitPDX i work in a woodshop. Build cabinets and laminate. Im new to it but what really irritates me is when everyone is using an airhose. Ive had thoughts about buying both. A cordless and an air
Evan Storar The air tool is usually what you use in a regular shop facility because it is more economical over the long run, but the cordless is usually more convenient and of course makes for a quieter shop.
Hello is this staple gun god to build a wooden fence instead of using screws?
FYI the P108 battery has been re-called
www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2013/One-World-Technologies-Recalls-Ryobi-Cordless-Tool-Battery-Pack/
The recall was discussed in the comment section of another video last year and I discussed it with the Milwaukee factory rep here in Portland this last holiday season when we were going over some of this as they were touring the Home Depots (the Ryobi brand is made by the same company, but is the lower grade versions of their power tool line which inclues Milwaukee and Ridgid). The recall was only for specific batteries from a particular production run and the Home Depot people have lists of which ones are applicable to the recall. That's why most people hiking in a P108 battery don't get a replacement on the spot and they are still brisk sellers, as the holiday season two packs for $89 are the best bargain in the industry for the amount of power per dollar in an 18v type battery, except Dewalt is hot on their heels now with a new 5AH battery which will have a street price which is competitive with the P108 when it is not on sale.
Then went n bought a yellow tool like I should have from the jump clearly . Made is USA makes a huge difference bro
Ryobi not for pro use at all...
Plastic locking device breaks Easley, need bungee cord to use this tool
Bro I used that pos 18guage on like two lil jobs and then tried a small house of base and couldn’t even get it done with that trash gun it broke on me so I smashed it in the street in front of the clients house
Should have just taken it back and got your money back and buy a real gun...
With your temper, I don't think I'll be hiring you.
You sound like just the guy I want to hire! The guy who's smashing his tools in the fuckin street! LMAO So professional!
Too bad the fanboys can't see past a tool's color. I've been using both of these guns for a few years now and never had a jam on either one. They both will sink full-length fasteners flush into hardwoods. These are pro-level tools at DIY prices. The brad nailer is so good, it is Ryobi's number one selling 18V tool for 2019.
oooh from the front you load..jesus..15 minutes trying to load like a normal one..hahah cause who reads instructions.. :P
"...uh..." 3 times in first 14 seconds. 🤣 And had no idea what models he was "reviewing". 🤦♂️
It's crap stick to dewalt
